  1. We're facing a lefty tonight, so Ozuna will be in LF
  2. Scott Baker and Reyes have limited the Yanks to 2 hits thru 7 innings. Twins lead 2-1 going into the top of the 8th.
  3. Chris Young is 2-3 with 2 doubles and 4 RBI already today.
  4. QUOTE(Dan @ Sep 2, 2006 -> 04:11 AM) who's worse, Rongey or PFB as you guys call him, the Farmer/Singleton connection or flat out DJ being himself? Rongey, no question.
  5. QUOTE(Steff @ Sep 2, 2006 -> 04:02 AM) I have listened to CR once for maybe 3 minutes. He was making excuses for Brian's struggles at the plate early in the year and said that Aaron was worse. Now I know Aaron was not Ted Williams at the plate.. but he was not worse than Brian was the first month of the season. I knew right then he was going to be replacing knee pads every other night.... I only hear him about once every two weeks, but every single potentially negative question is turned into a "matter of confidence for the player, and that's the only way he's going to overcome it and produce the rest of the season". When Ozzie plays Mackowiak in Game 160 vs the Twins, I wonder if he'll still say the same reason. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 2, 2006 -> 04:04 AM) I havent made it past the screener on 2 ocassions. LOL Greg Walker and PFB have restraining orders against you.
  6. QUOTE(SinkingShip06 @ Sep 2, 2006 -> 04:01 AM) i myself am tired of getting upset and actually caring what happens. they've lost me for now. i'll still watch some games but in someone's famous words "im sick and tired of being sick and tired" This season is getting very frustrating. I would LOVE the chance to make the playoffs again, as it would keep up the momentum the organization has. However, if we don't make the playoffs, it will be a billion times easier to accept than if we didn't make it last year.
  7. The PFB has become the punching bag for Sox therapy. It's a welcome change after last season.
  8. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Sep 2, 2006 -> 03:40 AM) Rongey is just going through a tough stretch right now. Ah yes, the tough stretch argument. Well done.
  9. Since the ASB, how many games better are the Sox than the Royals?
  10. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 2, 2006 -> 03:38 AM) LOL One of Rongey's old high school teachers has to call him up now and say how great he is. Rongey needs to get his confidence back.
  11. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Sep 2, 2006 -> 01:16 AM) What is your obsession with other teams boards? I really don't understand the insecurities here. A Red Sox fan is questioning a White Sox fan about why he's discussing another team's board? I've liked your contributions lately redandwhite, but this is a little hypocritical.
  12. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Sep 2, 2006 -> 03:34 AM) Who hustles harder down the line when they hit it to the RIGHT side of the field? AJP or Pods?
  13. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 2, 2006 -> 03:32 AM) I am for anything but Prancer out in LF. Whether thats Gload, Sweeney, or Mack or Ozuna. Anything but Prancer. I'D RATHER SEE TIMO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 2, 2006 -> 03:31 AM) Pods cant beat out hits in the hole. Last year, he beats out anything hit in the hole to the left side in the hole. Pods the distruptor, doesnt exist anymore. he doesnt steal, he doesnt get on, he doesnt do anything. He makes a lot of outs, and he doesn't set up the table for our 3-4-5 hitters.
  15. Is Schilling missing the series?
  16. I hate Pods, and my hatred would be much less if he showed some hustle on the field. If everyone says he's the catalyst, then his lack of intensity is even more disturbing.
  17. QUOTE(greg775 @ Sep 2, 2006 -> 03:25 AM) Pods changes the game when he gets on base. That's the way I see it. Those other guys dont. By what, getting caught stealing? He only runs against crappy defensive catchers now, and there's only a few of those in the AL. He's like 4 for the season against Detroit this season. IMO, Gload has about 3 times as many infield hits as Pods does this season.
  18. QUOTE(greg775 @ Sep 2, 2006 -> 03:24 AM) Fathom you really want Ross Gload as our lf the rest of the season and to not play Pods? If you do I guess we just agree to disagree. Yes, I'm 100 pct confident that Gload would contribute to this team more than Podsednik. Greg...thanks for keeping this argument mature though.
  19. QUOTE(greg775 @ Sep 2, 2006 -> 03:23 AM) Yet Joe Crede has 2 crap at bats in his final two including the final pop out. You guys that want to blame Oz for our s***tiness baffle me. I would play Pods over the guys you want playing. Again, please repeat one aspect Pods is better at than Gload and Mackowiak?
  20. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Sep 2, 2006 -> 03:21 AM) Please elaborate. He's too busy trying to explain every decision he makes or every comment he makes, and he's gone away from what he believes in. I don't even think he believes the reasons for which he gave for why Mackowiak gets so many starts.
  21. QUOTE(greg775 @ Sep 2, 2006 -> 03:22 AM) Cmon. Ross Gload is not better than Pods. Pods ain't producing s***. Is that Oz's fault?? Name me one aspect that Pods is better at than Gload?
  22. QUOTE(greg775 @ Sep 2, 2006 -> 03:20 AM) Like what, Fathom? Crede pops up to end the game. If he hits a liner in the rc gap, we win the game. Like leaving Jose in too long? Jose is a starter on a big league team. He has to go more than 4 innings and errors contributed to Jose's s***tiness too. Playing Pods? Pods is the best we got in that option. Oz is playing the personnel KW gives him. Pods isn't the best option we have...and it's not even close. The guy is simply awful in every aspect of the game. And yes, you don't need to pitch your starter a certain amount of innings every game. If they don't have it, then cut your losses that day, and maybe the short start will save a little of the fatigue. We keep hearing about how our pitchers are fatigued, yet we haven't done a single freaking thing to try and help them out. Just like how we beat Tampa, the only reason we had a chance tonight was due to talent differential. His decision to keep benching Anderson is just asinine...and I'm not one of the Anderson is God posters on this site.
  23. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Sep 2, 2006 -> 03:19 AM) He doesn't even talk about defense anymore. I don't think he considers it important anymore. Ozzie has a him against the world attitude right now...and it's hurting our team.
  24. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Sep 2, 2006 -> 03:18 AM) I hate game threads like the one today. My ignore list has reached 31. Personally, I'm not a big fan of saying "f*** player". If you're going to say something like that, at least state why you're saying that.
  25. QUOTE(greg775 @ Sep 2, 2006 -> 03:18 AM) This is not meant as a flame of our beloved team, which still could easily make the playoffs: Are the Royals as good as we are? Right now, their offense has a better approach than ours and is more versatile. The bottom of their order sucks though...just like the #8 and #1 hitter of the Sox. Their pitching is brutal though.
