  1. Great play by Iguchi! Two very good defensive plays this inning.
  2. QUOTE(G&T @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 12:56 AM) Long fly out for Konerko to right. He had the right approach. If PK keeps that approach, he'll blast one later in this game.
  3. Perez looks much tougher to hit tonight than Buehrle does. That cutter has been rather impressive.
  4. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 12:53 AM) Odalis Perez was a Soxtalk favorite a couple of years ago. He's not having any trouble with the top of the Sox order yet. The only other pitcher to make Dye look this bad this season has been Padilla. And here comes the umpire complaining.
  5. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 12:50 AM) I think Buerhle being behind every hitter is a bad sign of things to come. Hopefully he'll start getting ahead of the hitters or he's going to get ripped. We're going to need 6 or 7 runs to win this game.
  6. That will work! Bad base running cost them a run, but it will definitely help. I liked the way that Alomar went inside there.
  7. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 12:47 AM) Shaping up to be a Buehrle inning.
  8. Mark just can't do anything good now. Everything is up in the zone. If anything, I think he's working too fast now.
  9. QUOTE(G&T @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 12:44 AM) Shealy is a big man...but he's out. He's got a lot of power. Weren't we rumored to be interested in him over the offseason? QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 12:45 AM) 1/23 in July. Yet some people think we couldn't have used Brady Clark.
  10. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 12:43 AM) what a great thing it would be for Brian Anderson to get hot at some point in the next two months. It would be nicer to see him improve on his .158 with RISP.
  11. The Ozuna magic in the first half of the season would have made that ball drop. Jphat...is he 1 for back from injury?
  12. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 12:39 AM) ^^^^^ He got out in front and tried to pull a meatball changeup.
  13. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 12:38 AM) Cmon BA. The next step is getting hits iwth RISP. You've been awesome with nobody on, but gotta start bringing them in. ^^^^^
  14. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 12:37 AM) It's not velocity. It's location. His location is terrible right now. If he gets ahead, he accidently leaves a fastball over the plate. If he's behind 2-1, 3-1, he throws a strike, but not on the corners like he used to, but right down the pipe. Stuff is there, location is not. His ball had a lot of cutting action that inning. The problem was that he tried to throw that fastball to Sanders on the outside corner, but it cut right down the heart of the plate.
  15. QUOTE(champ @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 12:36 AM) More like the wind blew that ball right out of the park... That ball was hit very well. The wind is blowing out from right to left.
  16. Buehrle's in one of those stretches where every bad pitch you make is hammered.
  17. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 12:34 AM) I thought Sandy got a little more of that... That's all Sandy has now though...but I'll definitely take it.
  18. QUOTE(TheBlackSox8 @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 12:32 AM) cooper??? Catchers
  19. Lets get a few runs back. Two smashes by Crede to the opposite field lately is great to see.
  20. I'd just like to know where in our scouting report does it say throw fastballs down the plate to Sanders? That's about the 5th time this season we've just grooved him a fastball over the plate early in the count, and he's crushed it. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 12:30 AM) Last I checked Reggie Sanders is a pretty damn good hitter. He's batting .244 this season.
  21. QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 12:28 AM) Real classy of Hawk to basically blame that HR on Iguchi, even though MB was the one who laid that pitch over the middle of the plate Maybe we'll have to replace Iguchi with Buehrle's personal 2nd baseman for the rest of the season. The wind blowing out can't be good for Buehrle's confidence. QUOTE(brijames @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 12:28 AM) Ok it's official! MB is done! Wow, quite the quick hook.
  22. Sanders continues to kill us this season as we keep challenging him with fastballs.
  23. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 12:26 AM) Tough play but one that needs to be made. The past few years, the KC infield has been super fast. Iguchi's inability to make the play results in 2 runs.
