  1. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 12:21 AM) Just to let everyone know Joe Crede will be winning a gold glove this year. That's right he's actually going to get enough national attention to warrant winning the award. You can take my word for it especially seeing how I'm just about the most pessimistic person around these parts when it comes to players winning awards. HEY PIERZYNSKI EAT THIS, b****! I predict he won't. I could care less about awards....I want him to get it going again offensively. His bat speed is real slow right now.
  2. Good inning for Vazquez. It would be nice to get contributions from the bottom of our order tonight.
  3. I fully expected this lineup tonight. Dye sucked vs Padilla last game, and he was due for a day off. We face a lefty tomorrow, so Anderson will be back in CF, and Ozuna will be in LF. Stay hot Pods

Ozzie showed great timing with Garland. His pitches were up in the zone in the 6th inning. Something I criticize Ozzie on is that he's not proactive enough getting guys up in the pen. I'll applaud him for getting Cotts ready at the start of that inning.
  5. NASTY! There's not a hitter in baseball who hits that. Great pitched game tonight. One of the best all-around pitched games of the season.
  6. No walks!!!
  7. Here comes the hook
  8. QUOTE(knightni @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 02:45 AM) Run(s) When it comes to the bottom of our order, you can't get greedy.
  9. Not a good start. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 02:44 AM) Not a good start. Damn, Dye is so f***ing slow. I'm telling you, that extra run we couldn't get in during the 8th inning really hurts.
  10. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 02:39 AM) I almost want to see Mac here for 3, give Bob the day off... If you do that, he's probably done for the rest of this series. Hopefully he's be able to go on Thursday if needed.
  11. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 02:37 AM) Yep, he's gonna have a tough go round against the best of the Rangers. Wow, Guchi just missed a solo shot. It would be nice to get an insurance run courtesy of Thome.
  12. Great game Pods!
  13. Great job by Cotts/McCarthy. If Jenks can't save the game with at least a 3 run lead, you tip your cap to the Rangers. He'll have their 3-4-5 next inning.
  14. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 02:24 AM) Now its up to Anderson. Uribe really jammed himself. What a f***ing terrible pitch to swing at. Either way I'm not pinch hitting here cause I want the defense out there. Plus I got faith in BA. Salami time. I disagree. You try to get an extra run or two on the board. Cintron's a suitable replacement at SS...you could do a lot worse defensively. Lets hope we don't regret that inning.
  15. Uribe going to bat for himself? I'd love for him to prove me wrong, but I'd rather see a ph here. Yuck...that was ugly. I have no clue why he was allowed to bat there.
  16. Lets get this run in. I wouldn't mind seeing Gload or Cintron bat for Uribe.
  17. Anyone else think DJ was referring to Hairston Jr., and not Mahay?
  18. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 02:10 AM) If McCarthy could become consistant in the bullpen, maybe if he consistantly pitched, it would be huge for this team. The one weakness I've seen from him is his control. He hasn't walked a lot of people, but he gets behind in the count. His changeup also seems to be consistently higher in the zone than it was during his great stretch last year.
  19. Good inning for McCarthy, who really didn't have anything that inning.
  20. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 02:07 AM) I know that place is a bandbox, but everytime I see a game in Texas, it seems like you would have to hit one 600 ft. to hit it out of there. Except when McCarthy made his first start there last season, and every flyball was gone. Left field at Cleveland has that type of feeling for me.
  21. McCarthy's suckering them into the 2-0 pitch, and they're swinging for the fences.
  22. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 02:05 AM) As far as I'm concerned, aside from today, these should be his last two starts (in Texas) for a bit, because I would have Konerko in at 1b throughout interleague play (when we are the visiting team). However, my guess is Thome will get 1 start and I'm sure he'll PH in every game. From what I can gather, he's going to start on Sunday against the Reds and Arroyo.
  23. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 02:03 AM) Pods only has 5 fewer RBI than he did all of last season when a few people around here thought he warranted MVP consideration. Last year he may have been the most overrated player in the history of baseball. He really helped this team out with his steals, especially at the beginning of the year when our hitting sucked but the pitching was great. He was just pathetic in the 2nd half of the season though. I'll definitely give him credit for playing great in the postseason though. QUOTE(Melissa1334 @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 02:04 AM) we need to get thome going. hes been getting hits here and there but hes been struggling a bit. hasnt hr'ed in 10 days. or one week, but who's counting.
  24. QUOTE(knightni @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 01:59 AM) 2 down. Pods with the excellent at-bat decisions. Be nice....his publicist isn't here to spin it.
  25. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 01:52 AM) Garland was better tonight, he kept the ball in the park, but 5 1/3 innings is not getting the job done. You know you're my favorite poster on this site, but I don't get this. Against this lineup and in this heat, Garland pitched 10 times better than most of us expected. Especially considering Ozzie's quick hook with him, I am thrilled with Garland's performance tonight. He actually looked like a pitcher tonight, and just wasn't throwing his sinker down the middle. He had terrible outfield defense tonight, and that definitely led to the first run.
