  1. Redandwhite......I'm done with this argument. Good luck to your beloved Red Sox this year. I hope we can face them in the playoffs again.
  2. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 10:09 PM) I posted from school, I got home from school to read the responses. I have a life to lead. I can't sit on this damn website all day and night and respond exactly when posts are made. I never mentioned anything in regards to the Red Sox. Once again, you and fathom are the perpetrators in this instance. All I'm saying is that what is a Red Sox apologist/homer doing on a White Sox message board? Trust me....we don't give a flying f*** about the Red Sox. If I have to hear one more time about how great of a guy Manny is, I think I might have to marry him.
  3. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 10:05 PM) Get in touch with reality? Perhaps thats what I was hinting at when I told those people to calm down and to realize that this is a very mediocre player who makes a very hefty amount? As a reserve player, Cintron isn't a very mediocre player. And since we're not paying his salary, who cares if KW, JR, etc. feel like 1.6 million isn't too much for a bench player?
  4. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 10:01 PM) Trust me. Your ignorant comments and closed minded view on everything related to baseball is the only thing that pisses people off. I just took your moronic quotes out of my signature a day too late it seems, as here you are again being the same old person. Do yourself a favor, stick to sonofsamhorn.com. Rock...who would have ever imagined that someone would categorize you and me as teaming up on them?
  5. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 09:57 PM) Please, if you can't talk baseball in a constructive manner, don't talk to me. Go on being your unreasonable, selfish, arrogant, ignorant self and piss everybody else off. Wow. How can someone be selfish on a message board? Also, for someone that "pisses everybody off", I sure have a lot of people that enjoy talking with me in PM, etc.
  6. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 09:50 PM) Are you out of your mind? Not one reference to the Red Sox and you come in with this bulls***. You are an absolute f***ing joke. It's hard to fathom how dumb you look with this post here. The fact of the matter is alot of people were calling this deal a fleecing and that the White Sox will now trade Iguchi/Contreras for Pujols. Anyone saying we were going to now trade Iguchi and Contreras needs to stop playing XBox baseball, and get in touch with reality. Also, if my post was so stupid, then how come not a SINGLE poster on this board stated that they disagreed with what I said.
  7. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 09:52 PM) It's easy to see why Fathom has as many posts as he has. Your better off talking to a brick wall than you are to that kid. Wow, it's comical to see someone calling you a kid when you were born a decade before them. The funny thing redandwhite is that you used to act like you were a Red Sox and White Sox fan. Now, you're just a Red Sox apologist.
  8. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 09:15 PM) His curveball is supposedly a plus pitch though. Its all about location, and then using that pitch to offset his fastball. Exactly. However, when he doesn't have command of his fastball, he's going to have problems. It's way too early to write him off.
  9. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 09:09 PM) Really? Then all the stuff I've read about him is a lie. That's what I've heard from the Baseball America people
  10. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 09:05 PM) His fastball is usually around 90-92. Atleast that's what I hear. He's supposed to have a really good curveball as well. I wouldn't get too exicted over this performance. He's obviously not ready for major league hitters. His fastball's in the 87-88 range typically.
  11. QUOTE(southsida86 @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 08:59 PM) Is this Broadway's usual stuff? If it is, he was a wasted pick. He is going to get killed in the majors with that stuff. a righty can't get by with an 88 mph fastball in the majors, unless he changes speeds a lot and has really good junk.(breaking balls, changeup) I haven't seen any junk, so maybe he was picked for trade bait. Kenny, what intrigued you about this guy that made you pick him in the first round? He looks like a AAAA guy to me. Basically, he happened to pitch great towards the end of his season against top collegiate teams, and it boosted his stock big time.
  12. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 08:53 PM) By the way, Broadway was throwing mainly 87-88 MPH. In his own words, he said he likes to "backdoor guys".
  13. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 08:49 PM) I'm not at all judging him by this performance. But I still wish we would've taken Carrillo. I hope Broadway makes me eat crow, though. How's Carrillo been doing in ST? And yes, I wish we would have taken the local product also.
  14. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 08:49 PM) Well, in Gload's first AB he swung at the first pitch and made an easy out. And just now, he made a nice grab on a liner but terribly botched the throw to Broadway covering 1st base and a run scored. Wait, so the greatest defensive 1b in history made an error?
  15. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 08:47 PM) Come on Lance, you are better than this. Is he? With this stuff, he has to be pinpoint, or MLB hitters will hit him hard.
  16. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 08:46 PM) Gload is gone, lol. Explain?
  17. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 08:23 PM) I know. I'm not really worried about him. I know this won't surprise people, but I'm very concerned about Hermanson this season. I think he'll either end up on the DL for a significant period, or his ERA will be over 4.50.
  18. It's a fleecing when one player is a solid MLB reserve, and the other is a pitcher that hasn't shown the slightest ability to get MLB hitters out.
  19. QUOTE(easyw @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 07:45 PM) The whole Cub-Sox hater thing is all hype. It is? I hate the f***ing Cubs, and wouldn't mind if their whole team got injured.
  20. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 06:51 PM) Hold on for just a second here, guys. Alex Cintron had a .298 obp last year, and has a career .320 obp. he isn't perticularly fast and isnt a stolen base threat, he has no power, he's not a very good defensive player from what im looking at, and he's going to make nearly two million dollars this season. Personally, I think the Diamondbacks suck for trading away my cousin Jason last week and then today going out and acquiring Bajenaru, but at the same time this deal is hardly the fleecing you guys are making it out to be. The Marlins would have traded some AAAA fodder like the White Sox did had Cintron been reasonably priced, but he's far from it. Rotoworld brings up a good point in there disection. And this is one of the reasons some of us can't stand you on this site. Myself, and many others, are far from Sox homers. However, I'm sick of you constantly stating how every single move the Red Sox make is the greatest transaction ever. Also, if your cousin can't beat out Baj, then he doesn't deserve to make it to the big leagues (it's harsh, but it's true). I find it hillarious that you bring up a player's contract. Coming from a Red Sox fan, that's comical. No one is saying Cintron's a superstar. However, he's a very good bench player, and is versatile enough to fill in anywhere on the infield.
  21. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 05:47 PM) No, i get the feeling they dont like him at all. I do though, I think he is a good player. The cub fans sure hate him as well. Yeah, Hairston definitely doesn't seem like he's well-liked in the organization. However, if the Cubs want another middle infielder, I think they'd go after a bigger name than any of the guys we have. Again, I think this was a move used to help our depth, and to allow Mackowiak to be used more in the outfield.
  22. QUOTE(3E8 @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 05:42 PM) Why? I don't see the point in giving Ozuna a roster spot. Lets see....he's the fastest player on the team, is a good situational hitter, can bunt, and is well-liked in the clubhouse. Yep.....seems like there's no spot for him.
  23. I don't think we're going to make another trade for a big league player before the beginning of the season.
  24. - I don't think he was hurt too much. Izturis was the guy with the injury problems. - Ozuna isn't going anywhere. - I love how we're adding lefties to our team. It will help if we face righties with tough sliders, etc.
  25. Cintron had great stats as a PH last season, and he also had at least 15 starts at 2b, SS, and 3b. This also is more proof that once you're on KW's radar, it's very likely you'll end up on the Sox down the road. We've heard rumors of Cintron for about 3 years now.
