  1. I can't believe they omitted Timo from the Latino legends team.
  2. QUOTE(Felix @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 08:18 PM) Who is going to actually be here for the game thread? Been here all year....no reason not to be here again! I'd just like to say that no matter what happens tonight, or the rest of this series, this is a great f***ing site and I really do enjoy talking Sox with my fellow Sox fans.
  3. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 08:52 PM) Perhaps we could load the bases and try to pinch hit him. That's a hell of an idea. f*** it, we could have had him bat for Pods every time this season he had the bases loaded.
  4. The only reason I commented in this thread was because the original poster said "great team", and not WS winner.
  5. The worst move made by Garner last night was not having Palmeiro hit for Taveras in the 9th. I guarantee you that Palmeiro would have put the ball in play against Duque.
  6. With likely 2 of the 3 in PK, Thomas, and Everett being gone after this year, we need to replace them with a strong lefty hitter at either 1b or DH.
  7. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 05:31 PM) Ya, this isn't even a question. I almost died a few times from a heart attack but I was wide awake throughout the whole game. It's simply phenomenal to think of all the twists and turns in the games last night. You and I, among with a few others, were in the thread throughout. I'm tired as hell today, but I've never been happier to stay up late!
  8. I'm so freaking tired at work, but the sure joy of the win is getting me by. I don't want to think about how it would have been if the Sox lost last night.
  9. QUOTE(bschmaranz @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 03:41 PM) Damn Ken Griffey and his catch at the wall! It's amazing how great Lou hung in against the tough lefty. You really have to question giving Griffey Jr. something good to hit earlier in the game though.

    Juan Uribe

Speaking of that last out: - That thing seemed to be in the air for ages. - If you get a chance, listen to Milo Hamilton's radio call of it. Freaking hillarious.
  11. QUOTE(S720 @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 02:30 PM) Back in 2003, when Bartman interfered with the ball, Alou's reaction was very unprofessional and childish. He slammed his glove on the grass and pouted! The Cubs couldn't recover from that incident. Last night game, after a Astros fan got in the way of the foul ball, Konerko's reaction was very professional and mature. He did have the ball although it already hit the ground. He turned around and gave it to a kid, then walked back to 1B to continue the game. The White Sox did not allow that incident to hinder them from achieving their goal. The difference is so apparent, and it's also indicative of the characters and the make-up of the two Chicago teams. While I agree there's a huge difference regarding each team's mentality, there's no compaison between those plays.
  12. QUOTE(qwerty @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 06:54 AM) They have relieved... but have never gotten a save. I guess you never saw Little Big League. RJ definitely got the save in that game. BTW, I know it wasn't a World Series game, but whenever there's a chance to cite that movie, I have to comment on it.
  13. QUOTE(daa84 @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 06:47 AM) Buehrle was the first to close and start a world series game since....................... none other than catfish hunter. any irony since hawk always compares mark to catfish. "ive said it before, hes the closest thing i've ever seen to catfish hunter" Great factoid!
  14. Can we just set the clocks back tonight, because there's going to be a lot of tired people in Chicago in about 6 hours.
  15. Holy s*** Uribe! He played that ball just awful.
  16. QUOTE(qwerty @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 06:13 AM) Good call. I'm a huge Orlando Palmeiro fan, as he always seems to do the little things right.
  17. Ugh, that was bad. You have to make him hit the ball.
  18. That first pitch was right down the plate. Marte's going to walk this guy now.
  19. No walks or hbp Marte! Palmeiro is a very bad match-up for him.
  20. I only want Buehrle going out there if he's confident he can do the job.
  21. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 06:08 AM) Bad late innings for Pods. He really seems to press when the bases are loaded.
  22. YES SIR! Widger is behind the plate, so he knows the zone is small.
  23. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 06:02 AM) WTF does 4 mean?? I don't think Uribe knew it was ball 4.
