QUOTE(CYGarland @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 02:23 AM) It's been a GRIND all season long man. I think I can count on 1 hand how many games we blew out the other team. Yeah, even games where we jump ahead to a big, early lead, the other team still seemed to at least get the tying run to the plate sometime over the course of the late innings.

QUOTE(CYGarland @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 02:19 AM) It's bad man. :headshake......... At the beginning of August i was content to just make the WS. Now I'll be content if we just make the dam playoffs!!!! Welcome to my world. Man, I wish I would have just enjoyed things more when we were 15 games up instead of worrying about this type of struggle. Oh well, we'll know in 3 weeks what to think of this season.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 02:16 AM) corpseball+water=wet corpseball Glad I see that August was not just a fluke month. We cant score a leadoff triple, does our offense suck donkey balls now. The lack of a number 3 hitter has really, really hurt us lately. I like the move by Ozzie of trying to change things, but PK is not a prototype number 3 hitter. Everett needs to go way down in the lineup, as he's completely coming off every pitch.

QUOTE(CYGarland @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 02:13 AM) A lineup consisting of Timo, Willie, Gload, PK, Borchard, rowand, Anderson, Pablo, Blum doesn't worry you huh No, because compared to Iguchi, Everett, and AJP, maybe those guys will produce.

QUOTE(CYGarland @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 02:10 AM) This night is looking VERY ugly so far. I hope we can get this dam game in so we don't have to see the B lineup in one of tomorrow's DH games. I don't think we'd have too bad of a B lineup. Also, wouldn't it be more likely we played a DH on Thursday, with the already scheduled day game?

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 02:09 AM) So they stranded a leadoff triple? Or is Everett still due up? I just know the tarps are back out. Yep, stranded. Iguchi and PK grounded out, and then Everett flied out to LF. Of course, Everett had a great pitch to hit early in the AB, but he tried to hit it 600 feet, and fouled it off.

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 02:08 AM) Yay for rain delay #2 I have a feeling this might be a postponed game.
-
QUOTE(Sox Hustler @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 02:08 AM) I guess the day off didn't do s*** if not just made us worse. I hate this f***ing offense I hate it with a damn passion. Be careful before someone asks you why you're even watching the game.
-
I'd rather they just call this game if it's going to be raining so hard.
-
Great momentum booster for.....not the White Sox.
-
For some reason, I don't like our hitters swinging in the rain.
-
Unbelievable...come on Carl! This is a big run for our psyche right now.

QUOTE(WSoxMatt @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 02:02 AM) Indians win 5-2 Super
-
Why can't Iguchi execute now? That was a great play, but you have to avoid hitting it towards the 3rd baseman.
-
Hey hey...it's a triple for Pods!!
-
QUOTE(Tadahito15 @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 01:58 AM) I would rather have Cleveland win WC then Oakland anyways. We just need to step it up ourselves. Couldn't disagree more. We need the Indians to win every game possible right now to give us the best shot at making it.

QUOTE(WSoxMatt @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 01:53 AM) 3 run HR Broussard CLE 5 OAK 2 -Bot 8th It must be nice to be able to comeback from a 2 run deficit.

Hawk said there's another cell on the way in KC.

QUOTE(JimH @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 01:03 AM) You have your opinion on this situation, my opinion is you've gone overboard once again. Considering there were quite a few people on here who were upset with the way Guillen reacted towards leaving Chicago yesterday. We're obviously not even close to being on the same page, so the only thing I can say is that we have one thing in common...we both want the Sox to win!
-
2-0 A's in just a wild, wild inning.
-
Tarp is on the field for the Sox game. 1-0 Oakland after 4. Is it too early to bring Street in?
-
QUOTE(JimH @ Sep 13, 2005 -> 10:46 PM) I think what's gone awfully wrong, to use your phrase, is the common ups and downs of a long grinding baseball season. Even Cleveland, the team you've been gushing over for the last 2 weeks, had a horrible stretch this year. You listed a lot of things as just unfortunate timing for the Sox right now. I wasn't trying to say the Sox suck and deserve to be 0-162. Yes, the Indians had a bad stretch, but they're now on fire. On the other hand, the Sox had been on fire nearly all year, and then hit a terrible stretch in the last 50 days or so. Isn't it called a collapse when you struggle at the end of the season? No teams collapses to start the season. I just don't see any composure or focus by the overall organization, and mainly the players and manager. I hope Ozzie had a good time in Miami yesterday trying to forget about how bad things have been lately.
-
I forgot to add the whole attendance debacle of the last week, between the lack of fans showing up and the comments in the paper.
-
In the last 50 days or so, we've had: - a pitcher complain that the other team was cheating when they hit him hard. - a player called up from the minors b**** about his playing time all season. - a player complain that he's getting too much rest and doesn't like hitting in the spot he's hit all season. - a manager continue to make peculiar in-game managing decision on a nightly basis. - a general manager that failed to pick-up some type of offensive spark for the team. - a starting pitching staff, that besides Contreras and McCarthy, have been horribly inconsistent. - numerous 4-40, etc. slumps from our hitters. - Losing about 10 games in the divisional lead - The Marte debacle of the last week. See ya trade value - The continuing decline of Duque, and Ozzie's idiotic piggybacking idea. Besides that....GO WHITE SOX! Please make me look like an idiot, and just win games and make the playoffs.
