  1. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Oct 23, 2005 -> 01:39 AM) Good inning anyways. We saw more pitches off a new guy and we have Dye-Kong-Geriatric Park: The Lost Swing up next inning. I think we will add two more soon I bet we'll see a new pitcher next inning. Time for Contreras to hold them after we score.
  2. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Oct 23, 2005 -> 01:38 AM) And he crushed it. Huh?
  3. QUOTE(aiko @ Oct 23, 2005 -> 01:37 AM) C'mon Iguchi.. break out of your funk now, please. He's becoming a rally killer.
  4. Great time for Iguchi to sit on a curve and crank it David Wells style. Also, Rowand needs a haircut.
  5. You know what I love: That Crede has busted his ass to give the Sox a reason to bring him back and give him a 3 yr deal.
  6. Contreras is a few mph down tonight, and his forkball is up in the zone and not really moving a lot. He has to stick with his 2 seam fastball.
  7. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Oct 23, 2005 -> 01:20 AM) But he is a lefty. We SHOULD get to him He's obviously trying to get ahead in the count. We need to jump all over that first pitch. No reason to care about his pitch count.
  8. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Oct 23, 2005 -> 01:17 AM) He has 0 patience at the plate Especially when he's batting righty, all you have to do is throw it in the dirt, and he's way out in front of the pitch.
  9. We took a lot of great pitches right down the cock that inning.
  10. We gotta get Iguchi going at the plate again. I do have high hopes for Dye and Uribe this series.
  11. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Oct 23, 2005 -> 01:08 AM) I don't like walking the bases loaded that early. Besides, Count k'd him earlier. He hung a forkball, and Berkman smoked it. You don't have to walk them loaded, more just pitch around him and don't throw something over the plate. Oh well, it's a brand new game and Clemens is out.
  12. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Oct 23, 2005 -> 01:08 AM) I don't know about by far. THeir numbers are fairly similar. Ensberg has struggled mightily lately, and Berkman is a stud from the left side of the plate.
  13. Well, Clemens must be hurt. Sucks we couldn't get Berkman out, or we would have had all the momentum.
  14. Bekrman is the best Astros hitter BY FAR! Next time there's an open base, we need to go around him.
  15. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Oct 23, 2005 -> 01:04 AM) That blows. Stupid Biggio blooper. It was a good swing up the middle. Credit the Astros for hanging in on the pitch, and blame the Sox pitcher.
  16. I'm going to say it right now: Contreras is tipping his splitter. The Astros have been on almost every one he's thrown tonight.
  17. Contreras doesn't have nowhere near his good forkball right now. Hopefully he'll get better stuff as the game goes on.
  18. I don't buy for one second that Garner would have brought in Rodriguez. Just a little case of trying to motivate the pitcher, I guess.
  19. Great call by Ozzie! Even if it doesn't work, anything to make Rowand stay on the ball is a great idea.
  20. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Oct 23, 2005 -> 12:29 AM) I hate it when the wind blows out. Both homers normally would not have been Both balls were hammered. I think we've seen enough games at the Cell to know the ball doesn't fly out when it's cold out. Even Ensberg got the good part of the bat on that fly ball, he just had nothing behind it.
  21. Clemens gets the 3-1 pitch from the ump that wasn't a strike, and Contreras didn't get the call on the first pitch to Lamb. One of my biggest concerns coming in here was the strike zone that Clemens typically gets.
  22. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Oct 21, 2005 -> 08:20 PM) f*** Paulie's dad. What does he know. I fully expect that Paul wants to stay with this group of guys, and the experience in the WS is going to amplify that even more. I still think we get a discount. Not to try and start an argument, but I would assume PK's dad knows his son's intentions/feelings better than just about anyone. Even though PK has to be politically correct in how he answers questions in the paper, his dad has an easier opportunity to state which way they are favoring.
  23. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Oct 21, 2005 -> 08:14 PM) If we win the WS, Konerko will be back. Reinsdorf will bring back the same crew and more to try and win another. He would get reamed by the media and fans if he didn't. All the money will be there to do it anyways. But I agree with you, as long as Konerko helps us win this thing it won't really bother me if he isn't back next season. I don't think it matters if we win it all in regards to PK. I actually think it's more likely he would leave if the Sox win it all than if they lose to the Astros. Either way, I'm not very optimistic he'll be brought back. I have no fear though, cause I think we'll have a ton of resources to try and improve the offense.
  24. The last few weeks, it has seemed more and more likely that PK won't be back for the Sox. With the production he's shown lately, he's making himself the top FA target this offseason. At this point, it really doesn't matter to me. As long as he continues to do well in the postseason, I won't get too mad if he leaves. Don't get me wrong, I'd like to see him back. However, for the money he's going to get, I won't be too upset to see the Sox go in a different direction. Sometimes the best FA contracts are the ones you don't make.
  25. BTW....nice to finally have something we can agree on Rock!
