I have wondered, do you look at the trade differently knowing it took 6-170 to sign him? If you operate on a budget,(granted we could/should do more) can you risk one guy with his arm history on that contract?

It puts a lot of stress on your pitchers when they know few runs are coming. Last year the Sox scored three runs or less an astounding 105 times. This year 6 of 9 games fall into this category.

Jankowski must be a great clubhouse guy. He's played in parts of 10 MLB seasons and never been a league average bat while not being a great defender.

Wonder if Drury is released, could you sign him to a minor league deal and put him on minor league injured list and avoid the 40 man problem. Alternatively, if during cutdowns, roster hits 39, you could add him to the 40 then shift to 60 day if needed and reopen the 40 man spot.

I am going Vaughn, Vargas and Robert. Fear Benitendi hand will sap power. The other vets will be traded before they reach ten with Sox.
