That begs the question; if Wise comes back at the end of May does he automatically get a roster spot? If Anderson is still hitting and Pods is doing his usual act what happens with Wise when he's ready to return? Do we say goodbye to Podsednik because you can't lose a job due to injury?

Rory Fitzpatrick finished 3rd in voting amongst western conference defensemen in '07, he finished the season with 7 points. He was something like 25,000 votes shy of a starting spot. Of course it's believed that the NHL just rigged the voting to keep him out of the game which is likely exactly what the MLB would do if Milledge were voted a starter.

Well Samardzija got sent down to concentrate on starting, Chad Fox was recalled. Also, Chris Carpenter is supposedly progressing nicely and should throw from the mound on Tuesday.

If there's one thing Ozzie preaches it's good ABs and Alexei hasn't had more than a handful to start the year. He can get away with it when he's on fire and raking but he's gonna have to learn how to work a count, lay off breaking pitches out of the zone and wait for his pitch when he's slumping otherwise he's gonna start losing ABs.

It's really simple, even more simple than Brent Lillibridge's complete and utter ineptitude. Jayson Nix is out of options and Lillibridge still has two.

For as slow as Dye is in right field I appreciate his ability to get to the ball the best he can (he actually takes decent routes) and when he gets there he's probably going to catch it. This is what watching Podsednik in RF does to a person. Though I still believe Dye is too damn slow to play the outfield, he definitely hurts you more than he helps you just not to the same extent as Prancer.
