  1. I really don't think they're going to play this thing.
  2. Rory Fitzpatrick finished 3rd in voting amongst western conference defensemen in '07, he finished the season with 7 points. He was something like 25,000 votes shy of a starting spot. Of course it's believed that the NHL just rigged the voting to keep him out of the game which is likely exactly what the MLB would do if Milledge were voted a starter.
  3. Well Samardzija got sent down to concentrate on starting, Chad Fox was recalled. Also, Chris Carpenter is supposedly progressing nicely and should throw from the mound on Tuesday.
  4. QUOTE (scenario @ May 6, 2009 -> 01:29 PM) Just thought it was relevant given some of the angst about not using our 2005 1st round pick on Ellsbury. One of them is also a prodigious, high percentage base stealer.

    I. Love. Melons.

Honeydew is the money melon. However, I could live off watermelon alone so it would get my vote.
  6. QUOTE (Reddy @ May 6, 2009 -> 01:40 PM) who the f*** is eric ludwick? Ryan's brother and a real bad pitcher from the late 90's. Made his major league debut with the Cardinals and I believe was a part of the package that brought Mark McGwire to St. Louis.
  7. If there's one thing Ozzie preaches it's good ABs and Alexei hasn't had more than a handful to start the year. He can get away with it when he's on fire and raking but he's gonna have to learn how to work a count, lay off breaking pitches out of the zone and wait for his pitch when he's slumping otherwise he's gonna start losing ABs.
  8. Do you mean his first 5 decisions? This would be his 6th start.
  9. It's really simple, even more simple than Brent Lillibridge's complete and utter ineptitude. Jayson Nix is out of options and Lillibridge still has two.
  10. QUOTE (whitesox32 @ May 5, 2009 -> 10:11 PM) you know I still remember back like two years ago when lance dominated the royals for like a three hitter at the end of the year and I was so sure that he was going to be legit. but well yeah that didn't work out too well He didn't miss a single bat in that game. It makes sense that he didn't get another start after that, he pretty much proved that he wasn't a major league quality starter with that outing.
  11. QUOTE (chisox2334 @ May 5, 2009 -> 05:23 PM) from cowely and o ya kenny said one word of getting bonds and not suprised it was no Where the hell would he play?
  12. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ May 5, 2009 -> 05:20 PM) We live and die by hitting the s*** out of the ball. Alexei can hit the homer, we're not going to sacrifice that by... sacrificing in the first couple innings. I would have had him bunt especially with the way Alexei is swinging it right now. Podsednik isn't trying to draw walks right now so he's been a pretty good contact hitter, a seeing eye single and an early 2 run lead would have to feel good for this slumping offense.
  13. If Konerko had the speed of Chris Getz or Coco Crisp he'd be 2 for 2 with a couple of doubles right now. Though that second hit is iffy.
  14. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ May 5, 2009 -> 05:15 PM) Are lineup sure looks different with our starting 3B and RF in it, doesn't it? Screw that! EVERYBODY PANIC!!!!!!! I guess it's amazing what a day's rest can do.
  15. Jermaine Dye > Brent Lillibridge Very good to have him back in the lineup.
  16. Jim Thome just attacked an old man in the crowd with a bat!
  17. Good to see Josh going yard, wish it was off a fastball rather than a low slider but I'm not picky.
  18. QUOTE (fathom @ May 5, 2009 -> 04:57 PM) Oh Alexei, still struggling to do anything that helps the team win. Kalapse, where's the breakdown on opposite field hits for Alexei this year compared to last year? 2009: left: 37% center: 51% right: 12% 2008: left: 34% center: 53% right: 13% The data is iffy, I believe left and right center both count towards center so it's not telling you much. The HR data is much more precise.
  19. For as slow as Dye is in right field I appreciate his ability to get to the ball the best he can (he actually takes decent routes) and when he gets there he's probably going to catch it. This is what watching Podsednik in RF does to a person. Though I still believe Dye is too damn slow to play the outfield, he definitely hurts you more than he helps you just not to the same extent as Prancer.
  20. http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?autocom=chat You know you want to.
  21. QUOTE (Cali @ May 5, 2009 -> 10:39 AM) better not be the mother. Her character does absolutely NOTHING for me. Quite boring.... is probably the #1 reason why I stopped watching , can't stand her as an actress and oddly enough her character on HiMYM did nothing but annoy me.
  22. QUOTE (earthshiner @ May 4, 2009 -> 06:56 PM) so its a chicken slider... interesting Catfish threw a chicken slider, best I ever seen.
  23. QUOTE (fathom @ May 4, 2009 -> 05:51 PM) And that's the 3rd hit-and-run that Lillibridge has blown this year. What an absolute disgraceful piece of s***. At this point it's on Ozzie, he needs to know his f***ing personnel.
  24. Failed hit and run #3 on the year for Lilly. Ozzie is just clueless.
