QUOTE(greg775 @ Sep 17, 2007 -> 11:48 PM) When is the last time a Sox rookie has put up those kind of home run numbers? Wouldn't he look good as Sox DH the next 20 years? Trade Thome who is showing he still has some pop in his bat for some studs and let Fields DH? Just a thought. Jeff Abbott put up similar power numbers as a rooking in '98, though Jeff actually had a higher SLG. Also, Jeff Liefer: 18 HR in 254 ABs in 2001.

QUOTE(sayitaintso @ Sep 17, 2007 -> 11:39 PM) He won't win ROY for two reasons. #1 he has a pretty bad AVG. #2 he has a horrible OBP. He does have the best power numbers out of any AL Rookie though. Better reason: Dustin Pedroia has better numbers and he plays for the BoSox.
  3. I have officially jinxed Danny Richar.
  4. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 17, 2007 -> 10:08 PM) Well, hopefully Pablo will be around...but I think Danny is going to make you guys regret doubting him. Danny getting 100% of the ABs vs righties and 40-50% of the ABs vs lefties and Pablo picking up the slack would be a very nice platoon. Danny's going to need ABs vs lefties though in order to develop properly.
  5. QUOTE(Whitewashed in '05 @ Sep 17, 2007 -> 10:07 PM) We need to platoon him with someone next year. He actually has a higher OPS against lefties this season than he does righties. Not that it means anything really but it is odd none the less. He'll be 25 next season, making league minimum, playing the least important defensive position on the field and probably batting 9th. If I'm KW I'm not all that worried about his production for next season. He'll save you a few million dollars, play some very nice defense, learn on the job and there's always the possibility that he does reach some of that potential in a starting role and you have one hell of a player on your hands. Not everyone on the roster needs to make $4M+ and put up gaudy numbers, those young league minimum guys are very important to have.
  6. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Sep 17, 2007 -> 09:48 PM) Juan Uribe's September stats: .340, 1.061 OPS, 4 HR in 50 AB. You want him back too? If Juan were a 24 year old with less than 170 major league ABs, making the league minimum that would be a resounding yes.
  7. Danny's line for the season is at .240/.306/.445/.751. His isolated slugging is up over 200.
  8. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 17, 2007 -> 09:41 PM) Anyway...mark my words...Jerry Owens is going to be the CF and Leadoff hitter for this team on opening day next year. I believe it. I also believe this team will have another top 10 pick in 2009 and that Jerry Owens will play a large part in earning them that pick.
  9. Danny Richar is like a better version of Robbie Alomar. If Joe Morgan and Jeff Kent made sweet sweaty love Danny Richar would pop out of Joe 9 months later. He's remarkable.
  10. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Sep 17, 2007 -> 09:35 PM) That's future White Sox shortstop Omar Vizquel to you. The Sox could set some sort of record for most the most punchless 1-2 combo in the history of the game next season with that Owens/Vizquel combo. Throw in Erstad as a shadow starter and his .330 SLG% could rock your ass like never before.
  11. That's post ASB, for the season it's .299 which is just insanely bad. Pods was also quite bad for much of 2005.
  12. Oh by the way, that .313 SLG% would be dead last amongst ALL outfielders (both leagues) and 3rd worst in baseball with just Vizquel and Punto being more inept, that's right Jason Kendall has a higher slugging percentage.
  13. Where would that atrocious SLG% (.313) rank him?
  14. Danny Richar's current line for the season: .236/.304/.444/.748 Flat out ri-f***ing-diculous.
  15. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Sep 17, 2007 -> 08:47 PM) The Sox will finish with the 9th pick in the draft, I'm sure of it. The Sox will be in line for the 6th pick after tonight's game. KC, HOU, BAL and FLA are all going to lose with TB playing later.
  16. QUOTE(whitesoxfan99 @ Sep 17, 2007 -> 08:42 PM) It is going to be pretty annoying if after this miserable season we go on a hot streak the next couple of weeks and fall out of the top 5 of the draft. The Sox will finish with the 9th pick in the draft, I'm sure of it.
  17. Dear god he hit that ball far.
  18. If Danny can just get his batting average up he'll be one hell of a player. The ISOd and ISOp are there as well as the speed and defense.
  19. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Sep 17, 2007 -> 08:30 PM) I love Danny Richar His OPS is up to .726
  20. Has Bradley even set foot on the field? I know I haven't seen him.
  21. I always thought the booing of Magglio was pretty lame, same goes for Cleveland and Thome.

QUOTE(SnB @ Sep 17, 2007 -> 03:36 PM) I sleep ontop of my comforter and use my sox throw blanket to cover up. So my bed really never needs to be made. Same.
  23. What big name free agents? Am I the only one who doesn't see many? There's like 4 (that aren't closers) and none of them (aside from ARod) have great track records of success considering the incredibly lucrative financial investment each will command.
  24. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 17, 2007 -> 12:41 PM) PLease don't shoot the messenger on this one, I'm posting it because it's interesting, not because I agree. Rob Neyer on why Thome may not yet be a HOF caliber player. f*** you Balta you traitorous prick!
  25. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Sep 17, 2007 -> 12:15 PM) but what uni does he go in with? Indians and it's really not even close.
