Cardinals are up 4-2 in the bottom of the 6th.

Alex Cintron...personally insuring the #1 draft pick
Kalapse replied to chiguy79's topic in Pale Hose Talk
So why can't Jason B. play 3B? -
He's probably going to get a similar deal to Hunter, that doesn't seem like the best of investments to me.
-
The most important question is; who do you replace Mac and Matt with? There are no good free agent relievers and there's not much in the minors to get excited about. You almost have to keep both around by default.

The biggest comeback in White Sox history

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Sep 8, 2007 -> 12:54 PM) I thought he got hit in the head with a breaking ball. I could be wrong on that though. You're probably right I haven't seen that game in a few years, I'll have to find the VHS I have of the game and take a look. -
The only 3 guys I absolutely without a doubt would like to see in next year's pen are Jenks, Wasserman and Logan. I won't shed a tear for any of the rest.

The biggest comeback in White Sox history

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Sep 8, 2007 -> 11:39 AM) Sox-flubs 2002. Kerry Wood craps away an 8-0 score. That would be #1 on my list. 2 HR from Pauly after being hit in the head by a Kerry Wood fastball, such sweet revenge. It also produced the coolest bat flip in White Sox history when Konerko deposited his 2nd homerun into the left field stands. -
From last nights game thread: QUOTE(Kalapse @ Sep 7, 2007 -> 10:46 PM) Actually his .211/.291/.289/.580 (87 PA) line against lefties this season begs to differ. He's no where near ready to be a setup man who faces both righties and lefties but as a 22 year old he's already one of the most effective specialists in the game. His updated splits look like this .221/.295/.299/.594. So the .221 BAA vs lefties is cool and all, they're not getting many hits off him but he's also not walking lefties and when they do hit him it's almost always a single (the 78 ISOp proves that out.) Good luck finding many better specialists in the game today.

QUOTE(frankie5angels @ Sep 7, 2007 -> 04:09 PM) Glaus isn't a small fish at all. He is one of the better players in the league. Won an MVP, so I say he is more than just a small fish. After all this today with Ankiel and Glaus, and all the stuff with Bonds, and with everything Canseco said, I've lost alot of respect for the game of baseball. Which is sad because it is the greatest game ever invented. But the players of today and the agents and all the baseball executives have really hurt the integrity of the game, and how I look at it. It's a shame. He's never finished any higher than 30th in MVP voting. So in other words, he's never even come close to winning an MVP award. He does have a WS MVP on his resume but so do David Eckstein and Scott Brosius and I wouldn't call either of them anymore than small fish.

Jenks, Wasserman and Logan is a very nice start to a competent bullpen. Bears Vs Chargers starts up in about 39 hours, 20 minutes.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 7, 2007 -> 11:36 PM) 60% of internet polls are meaningless. If you don't believe so, I can create a poll. Especially when you don't even set them up correctly.

Why hasn't Terrero gotten any work in RF with Dye being out? Why must we be force-fed Erstad on a daily basis when we could be watching a younger, more talented player?

Very pretty slap hitting from Pods.

QUOTE(greg775 @ Sep 7, 2007 -> 10:43 PM) I hate to say this but Logan isn't ready for prime time. Actually his .211/.291/.289/.580 (87 PA) line against lefties this season begs to differ. He's no where near ready to be a setup man who faces both righties and lefties but as a 22 year old he's already one of the most effective specialists in the game.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Sep 7, 2007 -> 10:38 PM) I haven't decided if Thome or Fields will hit the walk off, but one of them is going to. Impossible, he only hits his homeruns in the 6th inning of blowouts.

QUOTE(greg775 @ Sep 7, 2007 -> 10:30 PM) Two game threads would be the solution. Why? No one is even openly rooting against the Sox in this thread, it's all in your head.
-
QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Sep 7, 2007 -> 10:28 PM) No Sox fan sits there during the game, hoping we lose, but the postgame "well at least we get a better draft pick" talks after a loss don't bother me (I hope that made sense to everybody else as much as it did in my head). I agree. I was definitely getting excited in the 9th. I was really hoping Danny would find a gap.

QUOTE(greg775 @ Sep 7, 2007 -> 10:27 PM) No true White Sox fan wants the team to lose. Get over it.

How many times has DJ mentioned Erstad's fluky 2000 season this year? 254?
-
Why did it have to be Erstad?
-
QUOTE(whitesoxfan99 @ Sep 7, 2007 -> 10:04 PM) Jim Thome is so not clutch. ^ He's terrible.

Is there a team in baseball more prone to the sudden late game implosion than the White Sox?
-
Can anyone think of a single good reason as to why Jason Bourgeois has not been added to the 40 and promoted? It's not like the 40 man roster is loaded with talent or anything, half the guys on it could be released right now and it wouldn't negatively effect the future of this ballclub one bit.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Sep 7, 2007 -> 01:55 PM) Barry Bonds and Jason Giambi weren't the only two doin' some ad things. LIES!
