  1. Wow, fantastic trade, I remember him just kicking our ass all those years in Cleveland, he's a welcomed addition to the pen as a righty setup man.
  2. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 09:54 AM) I do not agree with your assesment at all Kalapse. In fact I dont even want to start a debate because its obvious you are upset about last nights game, especially upset about Tracey. Ozzie is one of the best managers in the game putting trust in young players, and putting them in situations where they have a chance to succeed and earn a spot. Calling him otherwise is just misplaced frustration. I've said this a few times, it has nothing to do with last nights game. QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 09:53 AM) You would rather Ozzie use kid gloves with his players. You like a soft approach. Maybe when you get to be a manger you can use baby talk as a means of communication. Everyone can wear fuzzy pink bunny slippers and play duck duck goose in between innings. I can see Uribe now...pato pato!! Wouldn't that be swell!! GMAFB...these are grown men. Tracey is 25 years old...If he can't handle his boss yelling at him for not getting the job done, then I certainly don't want to see him on the mound with the tying run on third base. If Tracey is a stand up guy, he will blame himself for Ozzies lashing. He didn't perform. Same with Anderson...he knows it's nobody's fault, but his own. I want Anderson in there, but I certainly wouldn't blame Ozzie for Andersons struggles. It's like there is no more accountablility in this day and age. Yeah I'm not really sure what that has to do with my post that you quoted. As for the small amount of your post that actually had something to do with my quote, I'm not blaiming Ozzie for BA's failures simply saying that it's not easy for him to bust out of any type of slump while sitting on the bench 4 games a week. Mackowiak's s*** defense in CF hurt this team far more than BA's s*** offense.
  3. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 09:52 AM) WIth the widge catching, I wouldnt be surprised if mark is living on the outside corner most of the game. Yeah, like AJ wasn't doing the same damn thing last night and has been quite a bit lately. It's not just Widger, this whole damn pitching staff seems to be living on the outer half.
  4. QUOTE(GreatScott82 @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 09:18 AM) LMAO! I forgot about that. Those damn flashing lights! Texas= cheaters! How else would they score 8 runs off Javier... haha j/k Lets take this series and head on off to Cincy and take that series. I want them to finish off the road trip 5-2. It would also be nice for them to have a nice string of wins. What is our biggest win streak this year? 8 game win streak, this team pisses me off with it's inability to win 9 consecutive games, so sad.
  5. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 09:25 AM) WHoa, whoa, whoa. HOW so? What young players has he done this to? He has been nothing but supportive of Anderson during his run at CF, and has come out publically and said hes his CF'er. With Jenks he has done the same thing, and even made it a point to console him after a blown save. Who are these young players you speak of? I think the way he's handeled Anderson and especially McCarthy has been absolutley horrible. It's on thing to publically "back" a guy like Anderson but platooning him with Mackowiak was just stupid as was threatening to send him down plus only playing him against lefties even though he has more trouble with them historically, what better way to get in a groove at the plate than to play 2-3 times a week and only against lefties. Did he actually expect BA to produce under those circumstances? McCarthy should have been one of his major setup men from the get go, he's just that damn good. There's no reason for BMac to get the Mike Jackson treatment, he does you no good if you're using him as a mopup man and only pitching him 1-2 times a week, the guy needed regular work and was not getting it. Funny how when he begins to pitch more regularly he starts to dominate and is then thrust into the righty setup role. That's 2 very blatant situations, I think he did a fairly good job with Jenks last year but with the other 2 rookies he's had over the course of his managing career he's seriously dropped the ball IMO. QUOTE(JimH @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 09:23 AM) 7. Guillen's outburst in the dugout at Tracey, was it out of place? Tough to say. We don't know how the players reacted. It's entirely possible it may have brought them together. Certainly embarassing for Sean Tracey though, and no one likes to see a player get publically embarassed. But again, if it brings the team closer together, mission accomplished. How exactly does demoralizing a 25 year old rookie with a total of 4 IP in his big league career bring a team together? "Hey guys look Ozzie's hootin' and hollerin' at Sean! Wow I feel real close to you right now, lets make beautiful baseball together." For some reason I just don't see that happening.
  6. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 08:50 AM) Do warnings carry over from game to game? If not, we have to start throwing at people first. The umpires could very well issue warnings before the game today to avoid any sort of conflict.
  7. It's so sad how DUI's mean absolutely nothing in sports now a days, for an actiont that kills so many people every year you'd figure clubs would actually take action against the asswipes who decide to get liquired up and drive their sports cares 100+ MPH around town but no they really don't give a s***. It's just such a sad state of affairs in pro sports these days.
  8. Chicago Radio pretty much died to me when Silvy and Carmen will killed off, I'm not sure I've ever listened to the radio between 7 and 10 at night. Hate North, Hate the crap that they replaced Silvy and Carmen with, I don't really care about Mulligan and Handly, I do like Dan Patrick and Boers and Bernstein who actually know something about sports which so rare for radio in this town and I never really caught on to MJH, can't stand the fakeness that they bring to their show and I've never respected any of their sports opinions.
  9. I'm thinking we'll probably be seeing the Widge today, also wouldn't surprise me if Crede got the day off he's looked just horrible since getting back into the lineup.
  10. QUOTE(Capn12 @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 12:54 AM) Meh. Daily Show with Craig Kilborn >>> Daily Show with Jon Stewart. But I'm not politically based at ALL, so that would make alot of sense. So true, Kilborn never saw the success that he would have had he stayed on the Daily Show in the first place, Jon Stwart is just beyond annoying in my mind. Colbert blows his ass out of the water too.
  11. Yep a trip to the DL would make sense for everyone with interleague play up comming.
  12. Haha, Esteban Loaiza has a Ferrari. How come that fits so well in my mind?
  13. QUOTE(mr_genius @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 01:25 AM) ah, so there were warnings issued to both benches? well, i'm still with ozzie on this one. Yes, warnings were issued. None of this even happens if Javy just pegs some f***er after AJ gets hit the first time though.
  14. QUOTE(mr_genius @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 01:21 AM) why would they suspend Vazquez if he wasn't the one that hit the guy? ozzie probably wanted the rookie to throw at him for that very reason. I'm saying, if a reliever hits someone it's 4 games and if Vazquez would have hit someone he would get 6 or 7.
  15. QUOTE(mr_genius @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 01:17 AM) i doubt there would have been anything severe. would have been worth it in my opinion how long did russ springer get suspended for? that was totally blatant Springer got 4 games, any reliever on the Sox would get the same. Vazquez would get 6 or 7 games along with Ozzie getting 2.
  16. QUOTE(mr_genius @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 01:14 AM) i have 'ace' you might be too young to understand how the game is played seriously, not standing up for your teammates will do a lot more damage than get thrown out of a game oh, yea, i'm sure MLB would have thrown the book at the Sox for hitting a batter after AJ is got hit twice There's automatic suspensions for those actions.
  17. QUOTE(Capn12 @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 01:11 AM) Maybe he meant if you hit someone, and get one of your guys suspended, it can cost you games and such... If anyone gets hit after the warnings have been given out Ozzie gets an automatic 2 games and if it's Vazquez - 6 games for him a reliever probably gets 3 or 4 that can lose you a game or 2.
  18. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 01:05 AM) This place is going to go up for grabs if Tracey is traded at the deadline for something. It will be the Ozzie hated him and wanted him gone based on this. Tracey has a great arm. He has good stuff. He needs some better control in the long run. If Tracey is moved as part of a package for a reliable verteran reliever or something along those lines I doubt many people will have a problem with it.
  19. 4 IP in the bigs, just called up 10 days ago, 25 years old, s*** control, on the road, facing Hank Blalock, tons of tension and he's being asked to hit Blalock. Sounds like a good situation for Sean.
  20. QUOTE(JDsDirtySox @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 12:46 AM) Is tomorrow the last game with Texas this year? Things could get wild. Yes, I predict a normal game with absolutely no tomfoolery tomorrow.
  21. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 12:41 AM) That's funny, I visited a frat that made cookie cutter pussies. My dad totally owns a dealership. ATHF reference solid.
  22. QUOTE(Capn12 @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 12:24 AM) We needed "Angry Politte" to make an emergency appearance, magically off the DL, to hit Blaylock!! Seriously though, you don't put a wild-control rook in to do your dirty work. Sorry, Ozzie is wrong here. Then scar him further by taking your frustration out on him in the dugout in front of his teammates, THEN send him to Charlotte right after....I'd expect that type behavior from Phil Garner or someone. Phil Garner would probably throw a chair at him then hurl a racial slur his way. But yes, this was a very Garneresque explosiong from Ozzie and that's incredibly scary.
  23. QUOTE(Jimbo @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 12:18 AM) The fascination with you guys and young and unproven players shocks me. Sean did not do his job, im sure ozzie will love him again in the near future. Until then, if sean is sent down, its his fault...hell throw behind the guy then. Why are you putting a rookie with s*** control in a situation like that? Then completely demoralizing the guy after he fails to do his dirty work. That's bulls*** or as many like to say, that's bush. Funny how Tracey wasn't commenting after the game while packing his f***ing bags. Ozzie is completely out of control here.
  24. I said it before and I'll say it again. IMO Ozzie Guillen is similar to Dusty Baker when it comes to handling young players, he completely demoralized Tracey today possibly mentally f***ing the guy for years to come. Anytime you see a guy like Tracey having to burry his head in his jersey after being removed from the game you know there's something wrong.
  25. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 10:57 PM) You making a siggy based on this is laughable. Retaliation is part of the game. Before the armor, and the mound charging this was taken care of quickly and it was over. You beaned someone, someone on your team got beaned. The incident was over, and they moved on. Now the fact that this wasnt taken care of tonight, there will be warnings probably tomorrow it affects the game. Now does buerhle get to pitch inside or does he have to go away in fear of accidentally plunking someone. Now this will hang over tomorrows game when it could of been taken care of in one hit. Dude, you're such a meathead and appearantly a caveman too. Hitting people does not win ballgames learn your baseball you meathead.
