Well, look at it this way, the guy only has one negative, he can't get a hitter out to save his life. The guy is toast.

QUOTE(BDavisFutureHOF @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 10:38 AM) Up until this last year wasn't there alot of talk around here about Ortiz? Hasn't he aslo been on KW's radar for quite some time? He was rumored to be moved along with Andruw Jones for Maggs a few years back but nothing ever came of it. Russ Ortiz has completely fallen off since leaving San Francisco, he couldn't throw a strike to save his life. Just think of the game he pitched against the Sox at the Cell last year, they ran roughshot over him, Thomas and Uribe were launching the ball out of the park sending Ortiz' ERA up over 16 and forcing him onto the DL.

Russ Ortiz in is one of the worst pitchers I have ever seen. The guy is absolutely horrid, think of it this way, the Diamondbacks will be paying him $22M to go away. Also, he gives up a ricockulous amount of HRs, he'd be giving them up left and right at the Cell while walking everyone else he faces.

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 09:06 AM) I dont really trust pitchers for the Padres. They play in a weak division in an extreme pitchers park. He has only pitched 18 innings for them but Jon Adkins has 2.50 era in that park. Linebrink (2006): Home: 14.2 IP, 3.07 ERA, 1.00 WHIP, .200 BAA Away: 14.1 IP, 2.51 ERA, 0.91 WHIP, .189 BAA Linebrink (2005): Home: 32.2 IP, 3.31 ERA, 1.47 WHIP, .285 BAA Away: 41.0 IP, 0.66 ERA, 0.73 WHIP, .144 BAA Seems to me he's been better on the road.

Put him in center, he's not that bad in LF.

QUOTE(Rex Kickass @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 01:30 AM) Speed is a performing enhancing drug. Steroids are performance enhancing drugs. The difference is one helps you over time, the other helps you immediately. So the one that helps you immediately isn't cheating, but the one that helps you over time is? You either agree that better play through chemistry is cheating or its not. I don't see a grey area here. For the record, I don't think its cheating. Because steroids and amphetamines don't make you see the ball better, you might hit a little harder or run a little faster - but to me there's no difference to that than to getting Lasik to enhance sight that's already fine. (That happens a lot too.) HGH improves your eyesight so yes, it does improve how you see the ball.

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jun 13, 2006 -> 08:02 PM) any relation to Mark Texeira? Oddly enough I believe he's Shance Victorino's cousin, no idea on the Mark Tex relationship.

Wasn't it the Mariners who asked for McCarthy in exchange for Villone? I remember last trade deadline he was the hot name on the market at reliever and the Marlins ended up getting him for some great talent I believe Yorman Bazardo and Mike Flannery. Bazardo has an absolutely great arm, that's the kind of thing you're going to see this year as well.

JJ Redick was arrested and charged with a DUI last night, there's a mugshot and everything. This will hopefully kill any chance of the Bulls taking him at #16.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jun 13, 2006 -> 07:30 AM) I hope thats a joke. I always watch ESPN over Comcast when the Sox are on. ESPNHD>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Comcast HD Too true, it's really not even close.

QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Jun 13, 2006 -> 12:38 AM) I'm not sure why so many would care about Pujols one way or another. He doesn't play for the White Sox so there's minimal attachment on my part. Albert losing his hair at 25 kinda makes me wonder though... My cousin is 22 and has about the same amount of hair as Albert the same for a friend of mine who's 20. Some people lose thier hair at a very young age. Also, it's entirely possible to be a fan of a player on a team other than the Sox like I have done with Albert and numerous other players such as that mega hunk Rocco Baldelli.

QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Jun 13, 2006 -> 12:03 AM) Anybody know or hear what that red shirt Ozzie wears under his jersey is about? I believe that's a Chicago Fire Jersey.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 11:54 PM) Unless...that ss is Robert Valido, that 3rd baseman is Josh Fields, those relief pitchers are Sean Tracey, Augustin Montero, and Tyler Lumsden; the CF Ryan Sweeney and who can forget our new 5th starter (replacing Garland) Lance Broadway. Damn you Gage and your twisted logic.

QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 11:23 PM) The Barbrady episode = best South Park episode EVER You gotta know your South Park refrences if you wanna hang with the big dogs.

QUOTE(sircaffey @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 10:24 PM) And that's overlooking what it would take to make all those changes. Add those into effect and it's an explosion. Yeah, it would probably cost just about 100% of our top minor league talent, in other words his requests are completely unrealistic.

QUOTE(rangercal @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 10:46 PM) maybe they just let him in on the lighting secret? His away splits are stronger btw So that's why he's hitting 60 points higher on the road right? WRONG! GUESS AGAIN DUMBASS!

QUOTE(shoota @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 10:06 PM) Don't forget I want two more dominant bullpen pitchers. While I still have plenty of criticism of Joe Crede, I can't honestly say that I want him replaced. And Anderson has my support in center. I do want a new SS, hitting coach, two lights-out bullpen pitchers and replacements for Garcia and Garland if they cannot pitch as well as they did last season. That might be more than a tweak, but still short of blowing up the team. That's 20% of the team right there. That's called blowing it up.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 06:06 PM) Mike Jackson appeared in his 1000th game, I believe. Actually it was his 1000th strikeout that was the milestone though he did appear in his 1000th game in '04 with the Sox.
