  1. QUOTE(Felix @ May 5, 2006 -> 05:44 PM) I'm not a fan of Cintron, I'd rather see Juan out there for his defense (especially with Jon on the mound). Oh well How can you possibly not be a fan of Cintron? The guy has been great for us. He plays solid D and right now his bat >>>>> Uribe's.
  2. Same lineup as the last two days with the exception of Cintron being inserted for Uribe which I have no problem with. No Brian Anderson makes me sad.
  3. QUOTE(WCSox @ May 5, 2006 -> 01:10 PM) I don't see why Thome couldn't play a couple interleague games at 1B. And I don't see why Paulie needs to play 158 games at 1B again, especially with Mack and Gload on our bench. Thome can play 1B during interleague all he wants, that's not the situation in question here. Pauly can play 150+ games simply because he's capable of it, why not let him. And yes Gload and I guess Mack can give him days off. I'm not sure where the disagreement is.

  5. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ May 5, 2006 -> 01:04 PM) I think we should have Thome follow the Frank policy. Only in ultra-emergencies??
  6. QUOTE(The Critic @ May 5, 2006 -> 01:01 PM) Do you guys think it's too risky to flip-flop PK and JT once in a while? Should they risk running Jim out to 1B? I know he takes grounders there during BP, and I don't think he'll embarrass anyone out there. Just wondering what you guys think - I really can't decide if the safer route of having him be a pure DH is the best option or not. I don't think he'd hurt himself at 1B but I just don't see why we'd risk it. Pauly can play 150+ games over there, it's not a particularly taxing position and assuming he remains with the team Gload can relieve Paul at 1B every once in a while. Perhaps I just don't see the need for risking losing your best hitter by putting him out at 1B.
  7. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ May 5, 2006 -> 12:00 PM) Wakefield would be the rare exception to that rule since he did close for at least one season in Boston. Jared Fernandez as well, he was tossing that knucklball up there for the Brewers in a relief role earlier this year before being optioned to AAA.
  8. QUOTE(Allsox @ May 5, 2006 -> 09:42 AM) I have no problem with a platoon of Ozuna/Gload out in RF till Jermaine's 100% cuz when's he's healthy, the guy is as solid as they come and we'll need his clutch bat down the line! I agree we should put Ozuna in RF, we need to get his bat in the lineup even if it means sacrificing games by sticking a middle infielder in RF.
  9. 7 to 9 pm? Sure limit your best radio show to a 2 hour block at night, smart.

  11. QUOTE(GoRowand33 @ May 4, 2006 -> 10:43 PM) alright you guys aren't seeing my point yes the averages are good, the wins are coming in and I'm glad to see that but its how were winning that I'm concerned with besides last night I havn't seen many games where we scratch out a game by a single-sac bunt-single or anything like that its all about going for the homeruns that I've seen I think thats good as long as it works, but I don't think that provides long-term promise You do realize we hit 200 HRs last year right? Good for 5th most in baseball. The reason the Sox won was because of their 123 ERA+ which was 2 points higher than Oakland and far above everyone else.
  12. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ May 2, 2006 -> 10:23 PM) I should note, I'm putting in worse case scenarios. Our goal is to get everything done right and if it originally takes a bit longer, so be it, as long as we get everything set up properly. However, the front page of the site may be down for as little as an hr (depending on how long it takes for our server upgarde to go on) and than after that we'll have a temporary forum set up which could remain for as many as 3 days. We hope it will be quicker. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 2, 2006 -> 10:34 PM) The small amount of time that this will take in the long run is worth it. As the team keeps winning, more and more people will be hitting this site. I would rather have them take a few days extra and get it all taken care of, then have them feel pressured to bring it up quickly and then we suffer from it in the stretch run. People like Jabs and Mike might be twitching from not being able to post. Hopefully a cool chat is part of the upgrade or is being thought of as a future upgrade path. Just to let both of you know, I was kidding.
  13. So it went from 1-3 days a few posts ago to 2-4 days at the beginning of your latest post to 3-4 games by the end of your post, at this rate the site will be down for a week within the hour.
  14. The only problem with that is Colon is not healthy and I really don't think he will be at all this season, Escobar has been pretty bad and Santana is streaky. Pedro is god like thus far, Glavine right below him the rest of the rotation has been pretty solid and their bullpen has been the best in the NL. Their lineup is f***ing stacked and that's with a badly struggling David Wright.
  15. Yes, the Mets are damn good, definately better than the Angels IMO.
  16. QUOTE(TheBigHurt @ May 2, 2006 -> 06:30 PM) I'd give a reaction, but I don't know a thing about this pitcher. He's been in the league for 14 years, pitched 782 Innings with a 3.41 ERA and has picked up 4 rings along the way.
  17. I've never liked the Posterization effect.
  18. Yes, that will work. Thank you both.
  19. I'm sure someone can get this for me. I've spent the last 5 minutes searching google for stats from the '04 presidential election and for whatever reason I've come up empty handed. Anyway, I need to know relatively how many women voted or what percentage of the overall voters were female.
  20. QUOTE(robinventura23 @ May 2, 2006 -> 04:10 PM) I likey this signing. I see no reason why Logan would sent down. 2 1/3 innings and 5 K's today against a solid Indians lineup. If anything Thornton is still hurt or....(runs and hides) McCarthy is being sent down. You're right to run and hide because sending BMAC down would be f***ing stupid.
  21. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 2, 2006 -> 03:31 PM) I'm pretty sure you said Garland was the real ace last year http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?sh...ndpost&p=826666
  22. Wow, Broadway is kicking ass right now, seems he's allowing some hits but none of them are scoring, it also helps when you're able to limit your free passes like he has. 26:4 SO:BB ratio is just outstanding through 31 IP.
  23. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ May 2, 2006 -> 02:54 PM) Wretched? Our bullpen is currently 6th in the AL in ERA. It hasn't performed as well as it could/should, but it's far from wretched. We're .08 runs behind Jonathon "More Desirable than Albert Pujols" and the rest of the Red Sox bullpen. Is this including the granny that BMAC tossed up yesterday? If so then that is even more impressive than I thought.

    Good to see Aaron still isn't moving out of the way of any pitches headed in his directoin.
  25. QUOTE(WCSox @ May 2, 2006 -> 02:34 PM) Despite what some people here think, Buehrle isn't infallable. He's more than capable of a bad game every once in a while without any help from a bad backup catcher. Actually MB tends to have these meltdowns it seems semi-regularly. It's just the way the guy is, he'll shut down a few teams in a row then allow 6 runs, he's done it his entire career, especially last year.
