QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 01:27 PM) Plus it sounds like we will move Marte (2.5M), and Hermy will likely go the surgery route and miss the year or get traded (3M), so that's more money opened up as well. If Hermy doesn't play next year, we're on the hook for his $3M. He won't be traded, way too much of an injury risk.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 01:25 PM) That still allows us some payroll flexibility if needed. Very true. A lot of these are predicted numbers though, so the payroll could sway about $2M either way.
-
QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 01:23 PM) The Score is asking if Konerko/Thome will be the best back to back (in the line up) Sox players ever. '97 wasn't bad either.
-
That puts the Sox' predicted payroll at $87.475 (or $88.475 if he makes $13M next year) for the 2006 season. Thome = $6M Konerko = $12M/$13M

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 01:19 PM) I still don't see this mentioned on whitesox.com or mlb.com (I must be having browser issues or something). Anyone have a direct link to the story on chisox' website? http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb...y2005/index.jsp

QUOTE(IndplsSoxFan @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 01:09 PM) The article from whitesox.com says 5 yr/$60 M + incentives = $65M
-
QUOTE(Antonio Osuna @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 01:08 PM) 65/5? We overpaid. No way is Konerko worth $13 million a year, objectively. But with the money bins that medicore relief pitchers arae building today, in the context of the inflated FA market this year we may have actually underpaid. What took so long?

QUOTE(Soxfest @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 12:47 PM) Levine has been wrong alot more than right, If he is right well a blind squirrel finds an acorn sometimes. Then Jason Stark and all of ESPN are wrong as well.
-
Jason Stark reports as well.

QUOTE(Soxfest @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 12:44 PM) Take Bruce Levine with a grain of salt. It's not just Bruce.
-
$12M per, not half bad. though we did have to give him the 5th year. This is just awesome.

f***.Yes.

QUOTE(mr_genius @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 12:26 PM) new update That new update is from yesterday though, I heard Offman say the same damn thing at about 6:05 yesterday when I was driving home from work.

SOCOM II & III are pretty f***ing awesome if you like killing things. The online gameplay is just ridiculous and if you have a headset the team aspect makes the game addicting.

QUOTE(YASNY @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 03:22 AM) Jeter and Rivera, I'll give you. Add Bernie. Posada came from the Braves, iirc. Then they "bought" Tino Martinez, Roger Clemens, Kenny Rogers, etc etc etc. Incorrect, Jorge Posada was Drafted by the New York Yankees in the 24th round of the 1990 amateur draft.

Sox interested in Mike Myers; Marte being shopped

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Nov 29, 2005 -> 07:41 PM) Why not have another speedy leadoff type who can help you manufacture runs when your sluggers get shut down. Scott was the only one who could literally manufacture a run by himself last year, wouldn't it be nice to have another guy who could do that in a close game? Remember the team went absolutely down the tubes last year when scotty went out and I know it wasn't all because of him but a big part of it was because of him. Add Pierre and all the sudden this team can manufacture and slug away with the best of them. That would be a pretty damn versatile offense. My major gripe with Pierre other than having zero power from the 2 hole is that he's not all that efficient at stealing bases. His percentages are pretty bad for a guy who steals that many bases. -

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Nov 29, 2005 -> 07:33 PM) You just described Scott Podsednik....look what he did. Why do we need another leadoff hitter? -
QUOTE(fathom @ Nov 29, 2005 -> 06:23 PM) If I didn't know better, I would think that someone recently told Offman that PK is coming back. He thought a decision would be made before Friday. He also said that Thome talked to him on the phone. I though that was a very interesting update from Offman. We could see a Konerko signing sometime soon by the way he said it. I'm thinking Thome made a good impression on Konerko and could sway him toward comming back.

George Offman did say that Konerko is leaning heavily toward returning to the Sox.

QUOTE(SoxPride56 @ Nov 28, 2005 -> 11:40 PM) wow i guess he was right then...thats to bad that happend Actually FWIW, later reports say it was an accountant for the show.

The plot behind Prison Break is basically pointless anyway. If they just would have let the execution take place, like 20 murders never would have happened. How is Lincoln Burroughs' life more important than his girlfriend's fiance's life? How many innocent people have to die just so some guy on deathrow who was going to commit murder anyway can get off?
-
I still think House is the best show on FOX right now. Prison Break is just alright and I watched 21 episodes of 24 last season and quit. Dr. Gregory House is the best character on TV.
-
The show is pretty good, the ending however, blew ass. I expected it though seeing how they have to drag it out some more.
