QUOTE(heirdog @ Dec 14, 2005 -> 12:52 PM) But does Mark Kotsay have one? The real question is, who the f*** is Eric Kotsay? This is the second time I've butchered his name.
-
Mark Kotsay has a full no trade clause. '06 - $7M '07 - $8M '08 - $7M

QUOTE(Soxfest @ Dec 14, 2005 -> 12:37 PM) Young can go Anderson will be fine. Talent wise, I don't think there's any comparison.

QUOTE(Soxfest @ Dec 14, 2005 -> 12:24 PM) To get Vasquez for crappy LV, Young who was not in future plans really and there oldest player on team who was gone next year anyway is brilliant on KW part, I think Garlang may go If Contreras signs an extension. Chris Young was most definately in the future plans. As of yesterday he was on pace to be our starting CF in '07.

QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ Dec 14, 2005 -> 11:11 AM) Yup. Joe Borchard was a legitimate stud too. At Stanford, yes. In the minors, not so much.

QUOTE(kevin57 @ Dec 14, 2005 -> 10:32 AM) I can't provide a source, but I heard we'll be getting $5M in the deal. The way that Brian Dolgin keeps wording it on the Sportscenter update, it sounds like the Sox are sending $5M to Arizona. Which makes zero sense.

QUOTE(TheHammer @ Dec 14, 2005 -> 09:35 AM) Wade didn't return a punt his first two seasons, he was drafted to be a WR and it turned out he just couldn't hack it. It happens to dozens of guys every year. I'm sure they thought he might be able to return, but its not like he excelled No one thought he could outrun everybody coming out of college but he was considered a guy with great quickness and good hands. While he is quick his hands are average and he is weak with the ball. I'm not sure whats up with the comment that if he was drafted to be a possession reciever he would be drafted 7th round or undrafted. Possession recievers aren't like kickers, they can be vitally important, even pro bowl players. We drafted a pretty good possession WR in the 2nd round out of Penn State a few years back. Wade didn't return a punt his first two seasons becuase we had Rdub back there who was a stud PR. We let McQuarters go and Wade was to step in, this is why we drafted him. Wade was supposed to be the PR of the future for the Bears but it turned out that he can't hold onto the damn ball.

QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Dec 13, 2005 -> 06:12 PM) Believe it or not, he was believed to be possession reciever. Ooops. Yeah, but if Angelo didn't think he could be a damn good PR for us in the future, he never would have used a 5th round pick on him. Comming out of Arizona, if he were strickly a possession reciever he would have gone in the 7th or undrafted.

QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Dec 13, 2005 -> 06:00 PM) He isn't 5'2". I am not saying he is a great WR however they don't have the depth at Wide Receiver to do this. Let's say that Moose gets hurt. who you gonna go out and get again? Bobby Wade. God damn, have you ever heard of hyperbole? Bobby Wade is a pathetic WR, the only reason we drafted him in the first place was for returning punts. His job will not be hard to fill, with Eddie Berlin moving up the depth chart to second on the right side to Moose. I'm not sure if Currie can even come back seeing how he's on the IR but just about anyone the Bears bring in to play WR for us will be a better talent than Bobby Wade.
-
QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Dec 13, 2005 -> 05:27 PM) I dunno. I agree about Wade. He should never return a punt again. However they are so thin at the Wide Receiver position. He's 5'2" and has pathetic hands. He's a s*** PR and an even s***tier WR.

So long Bobby.

QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Dec 11, 2005 -> 01:32 PM) Yeah I'd consider him a younger Carl Everett. Especially with his attitude. Most are in aggreance that we don't need him on this team. What Carl Everett is at 34, Jaque Jones is at 30.
-
Just think about it this way, would you give Carl Everett a multi year deal worth $6M+ per?
-
I would appreciate it if noone would bring up Jaque Jones' name for the remainder of the offseason. His name has come up quite a few times by people and it's unwarranted. Jaque Jones is not a good ballplayer. We have no use for an overpaid, cocky, .750 OPS OF.

QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ Dec 11, 2005 -> 09:49 AM) PS: I found out that the BULLS where wearing the uniforms of the CHicago Stags of the late 40s, and the Wiz were wearign the uniforms of the 1972 Washington Bullets. 1972 Baltimore Bullets.

Why should we give up a very good starting pitcher along with other key players/prospects to fill a need that we do not have, SS.

QUOTE(chitownsportsfan @ Dec 10, 2005 -> 05:12 PM) I have to disagree with you Juggernaut, I think the D-rays will be looking for much more than you suggested. Maybe Duque and Fields for Crawford. I don't think the are going to give up a quality young player just to dump a little salary. They aren't that broke. Why would they want Duque? Start the package with McCarthy and you'll be looking at it a lot more realistically.

Damaso Marte could be headin to the Dodgers
Kalapse replied to JDsDirtySox's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Dec 10, 2005 -> 02:07 PM) Sounds like a good trade for both teams. The Dodgers need to rid themselves of Bradley while the Pirates need bats badly. I'd do it on both sides For the Pirates, it makes perfect sense, they've been desperate for a good OF bat for a while now and Bradley would fit that role for them. I'm just afraid some people are going to start talking about how we could have gotten Bradley for Marte and how they would love such a trade for the Sox. Which would be a very bad idea. -

I would of had zero interest in bringing Milton Bradley to the Sox. -
QUOTE(jasonxctf @ Dec 9, 2005 -> 03:54 PM) you're crazy.. 13 wins in '02, 13 wins in '03, 18 wins in '04 and 14 wins in '05. This guy can easily win 13-15 games next year. Maroth and Bonderman both won 14 games last year too. Not a bad 1,2,3. 3.84 ERA in '02, 4.57 ERA in '03, 4.76 ERA in '04, 3.46 ERA in '05. Wins do not a good pitcher make.

QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Dec 9, 2005 -> 01:09 AM) Exactly. Also, Mackowiak has played 110 games (86 starts) in center field with the Pirates. He has decent speed. I've been trying to come up with some childish, insulting nicknames for some of the current players on the Sox. Do you think you can help me out? Maybe you can make one up for Vizcaino?

QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Dec 9, 2005 -> 12:02 AM) If i get an award it will be for most hated poster. Someone's searching for sympathy.
