Angels & Sox looking at Crawford
QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 01:10 PM) Several things come to mind.. 1. He is locked up for the next 3-4 years..With Jose a FA next year. We would at least know that we have 4 pitchers for 07 barring injuries. 2. Was last year a fluke for Garland, or did he turn the corner? I want to beilve that he turned the Corner..But, I still have about 25% doubt. Becuase my boss came in I forgot the others. Vazquez is signed through the '07 season. That's 2 years not 3-4.

Night 1 Notes from the GM Meetings
QUOTE(GreatScott82 @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 01:28 AM) Prediction: Sox will get Pierre for Young. I expect Pierre to go somewhere very soon. And if the Sox sign Pierre- the Cubs will once again lose out on one of there "targets" this offseason. Not to mention it would create a hell of a 1-2 punch on our team. Go for it Kenny! Um, no.

Catch-All Anything Thread
I'll never understand why they continue to cancel a great show like Arrested Developement. I just watched the new episode from today and am convinced that other than ATHF (also watched that new episode today) and House it's the best show on television.

For those who bought a McCarthy Jersey
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Dec 5, 2005 -> 09:07 PM) Thats odd, I figured they could do it, especially since you can buy a blank jersey and put whatever name on it to begin with. Really weird, but who knows, maybe it depends on the type of jersey. I think that you can with authentic. Yeah, I'm thinking maybe the licensing restrictions only apply to the replica jerseys.

For those who bought a McCarthy Jersey
QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Dec 5, 2005 -> 03:46 PM) Staying on the topic of jerseys, does anyone know where I can get my Shingo jersey changed to a PK jersey? I'm pretty sure it's illegal (Due to licensing restrictions) for them to change the name on the back of your jersey to that of a current player, atleast that's what Triple Threat Sports says.

Bears vs Packers
QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Dec 4, 2005 -> 09:55 PM) Getting away from how awful Orton is for a moment........ Did anyone else enjoy watching Farve get demolished as much as I did? He got absolutely creamed on a couple of those sacks. He looked like a staggering old man being helped across the street by 2 of his O-Linemen after the P-Nut sack, I took great pleasure in that.

QUOTE(mccarthyp @ Dec 4, 2005 -> 07:13 PM) Yes, his childhood hero was Frank Thomas and he usually wore #35. When he didn't, he wore #20. Very cool, thanks for the info.

QUOTE(mccarthyp @ Dec 4, 2005 -> 06:55 PM) Players get an assigned number when they first come up. No choice in the matter. Forty-one was not his choice. What number would he ultimately like to have? 55?

Nathan Vasher for DPOY
QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Dec 4, 2005 -> 06:10 PM) See: Tim Dwight Except Time Dwight has a lot more experience and success at returning punts than Eddie Berlin. Berlin has only returned 7 punts in his 5 year NFL career and all were in '04, he gained 26 yards off those returns (3.7avg). Dwight has returned 152 punts over his 8 year NFL career, he's gained 1500 yards off those returns (9.9avg) + 3 tds. Totally different players.

Nathan Vasher for DPOY
QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Dec 4, 2005 -> 05:49 PM) I think we will see Eddie Berlin returning punts next week. It depends on how he feels, if he feels he can go out there and not reinjur himself, then there's a damn good chance we'll be seeing a speedy little white guy returning punts next week.

QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Dec 3, 2005 -> 02:33 AM) sorry but I am not sure what I have done wrong here. It pissed me off and I shared my point of view. If you don't agree with me fine. Good for you. But post your thoughts on the article. I am not sure why I keep on getting attacked for everything I do. But whatever. http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?showuser=1521

Nathan Vasher for DPOY
I just checked the Bears Depth Chart on the official website and Bernard Berrian is in fact the 3rd string PR behind Rashied Davis. I'm really hoping we see him return punts Vs the Steelers next Sunday, he's got great speed and great hands. He'll give you 5+ yards and fall down, no fumbles necessary.

Nathan Vasher for DPOY
QUOTE(OilCan @ Dec 4, 2005 -> 05:24 PM) All I remember, when Nathan Vasher was here in Austin returning punts, was that he was a threat EVERY TIME to break one, maybe two, punts per college game. He would give the Bears an X-factor on special teams that would be an upgrade compared to what they have now. I understand you don't want to put your starter out there, but still.....I really, REALLY wish he was back there. He returns a punt, gets hit low, blows a knee and we have Azumah starting with ?Rashied Davis/Todd Johnson? at the nickle, assuming Green is starting at FS with Harris out with his knee injury. We can't afford to have our stud CB returning punts, no matter how good he is, we're just not deep enough at DB right now.

Nathan Vasher for DPOY
QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Dec 4, 2005 -> 05:17 PM) Yuck. He might be able to catch the ball but he has more straight line speed than anything. Lacks the shiftiness a PR needs. I don't think we have a good PR on the roster right now (not counting Vash). I know for a fact that Bernard will not fumble, that's all I'm asking from my PR at this point in time.

Nathan Vasher for DPOY
QUOTE(OilCan @ Dec 4, 2005 -> 05:14 PM) All Nate Vasher does is get picks and score touchdowns. Why isn't he returning punts? He did that at UT all the time. You don't want your starting corner returning punts, especially when your backup CB is Azumah who is the perfect Nickle back for this defense. Bernard Berrian would be a better choice.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Dec 3, 2005 -> 11:44 PM) Only 5 per year? WTF! Perhaps KW can clear some room (Marte) and pick Jones up. I wouldn't mind having him in LF....or in center actually. You're insane.
