  1. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Dec 2, 2005 -> 11:15 PM) (Paraphrasing Buck) "Do you think The Cardinals should have pitched Lidge in game 6 to get the taste of that Pujols home run out of his mouth?" "I don't think that taste is there" - McCarver "Podsednik swings and hits a high fly ball, deep left field...that ball is GONE!" -Buck "That taste is there now" - McCarver Right field. (Right center to be exact)
  2. WTF's going on? The Bulls are making every open jumper they get.
  3. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Dec 2, 2005 -> 04:06 PM) No he should be bringing in Politte, Hermanson, or Jenks. That logic is so stupid. Look you can do this matchup stuff if you have the right players. Tony LaRussa has the pitchers in the bullpen to do that: Ray King- Best Lefty Set Up Man in the NL right now. Randy Flores- Another very good lefty. Not as good as King but still damn good. Lefties hit .173 against him. Al Reyes: His numbers are SICK! Tavarez- Solid in the bullpen. Cal Eldred- He had a very good year. Brad Thompson- Another great pitcher. See Tony LaRussa has another lefty who can get lefties out. He has the righties who can get righties out. His Bullpen is built to matchup like that. The Sox don't have that yet. Did you watch the Sox at all this year? It doesn't matter what you say he "should do" it's all about what he "will do" and what he does is play Left-left/righty-righty matchups.
  4. You have to stop looking at this from a pure baseball perspective and instead look at it through Ozzie's eyes. It doesn't really matter if a RHP is better against lefties when it comes to Ozzie, he'll play the matchups and throw a LHP out there. Meaning if it's late in the game, a lefty is comming up and Cotts has already been used Ozzie will be bringing in his 2nd LHP and I'd much rather have that be Marte as opposed to Munoz.
  5. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Dec 1, 2005 -> 08:24 PM) Idonno I wouldnt mind giving Munoz a shot... he would be the last man in the bullpen and he could go multiple innings at a time so it would be ok.... thats a course assuming we trade Marte. Giving Munoz a shot as the last man out of the pen and replacing Marte with him as the 2nd lefty out of the pen are two totally different things. If we can't find a viable 2nd lefty for the pen, Marte should be retained.
  6. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Dec 1, 2005 -> 08:11 PM) Global Warming. Just ask Randy Marsh.
  7. Holy s***! Good to hear you're alright.
  8. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Dec 1, 2005 -> 07:35 PM) he was a f***ing rookie. Look at stats Neal Cotts put up in 2004. They were brutal. You have to give Munoz a chance IMHO. No, no you don't. He is owed nothing.
  9. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Dec 1, 2005 -> 07:32 PM) He had a 3.97 ERA (he had one bad game at KC that made his ERA go up) and they hit .238 against him. 11.1 IP 9BB/10SO GMAFB
  10. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Dec 1, 2005 -> 07:20 PM) You forgot >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> And I dont like Marte. I thought that would be overkill. I just don't really see any arguement the other way.
  11. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Dec 1, 2005 -> 07:17 PM) You mean you would rather have Marte? He f***ing sucks. Please don't judge Munoz on that game in Montreal. He was put in an awful situation. He did well out of the bullpen in September and his Curveball is great when it is on. Marte >>>>> Munoz. There's just about no case to be made against this logic.
  12. ^^^ NO to just about all of it. Frank Thomas is done as a White Sox, some of you need to get over it, seriously.
  13. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Dec 1, 2005 -> 06:59 PM) Is the car okay? Seriously, I'm guessing you came out alright??? No, he's in a coma.
  14. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 11:32 PM) who is a better right fielder in this free agent market. I am not saying Burnitz was great but for the money they were paying him you can do a whole lot worse. Plus they have other needs. If i were a cubs fan I would rather have Burnitz in Right and Juan Pierre in center and/or Rafael Furcal at short than some overpayed crappy outfielder and none of those guys. Matt Murton.
  15. that sucks, how'd you manage that one?
  16. QUOTE(WinninUgly @ Dec 1, 2005 -> 04:14 PM) So basically there is almost a guaranteed lock on these 19: Buehrle, Contreras, Garcia, Garland, McCarthy, Cotts, Politte, Jenks, Vizcaino, Pierzynski, Widger, Crede, Iguchi, Konerko, Thome, Uribe, Ozuna, Dye, Podsednik. and the other 6 roster spots are up for grabs with these guys currently on the roster filling 5 of those 6: Hernandez Hermanson Marte Harris Perez I just think the Sox are short too many OF's. They had Everett as DH but he still played some RF as needed. With him and Aaron gone, that leaves basically 2 holes since Thome fills the DH and backup 1B role. Ozuna covers 3B, Harris covers 2B/SS. So unless the Sox unload Ozuna or Harris, I don't see them picking up another IF like Mueller unless they really don't trust Joe's back. Funny how you don't mention the Sox' starting CF in '06: Brian Anderson in any of this.
  17. QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ Dec 1, 2005 -> 07:09 AM) That would be I believe Javy Lopez Whom went to Baltimore. I'm not really sure how you can confuse Posada with Lopez
  18. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 11:23 PM) but why fix what is broken? That is exactly the lesson the cubs will learn when they don't resign Jeromy Burnitz. He put up decent numbers for decent money. He was a great guy in the clubhouse, why mess with that. Why pay more for somebody who you don't know will be as good in the clubhouse and outproduce him by all that much. Nice try.
  19. Joey Gathright would be useless. We already have 3 OF prospect who are equal to or better than him.
  20. I've always been a big Wilkerson guy, I've taken him in the later rounds of fantasy drafts the past two year hoping he would bust out. He would be a great pickup just because of his versatility alone. He has decent speed and a pretty good arm from CF.
  21. QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 02:21 PM) It's going to be higher.. Mainly because it's already pushing $89M when you include buyouts.
  22. QUOTE(chitownsportsfan @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 02:16 PM) Yea, he could hit 20 homers, but I'm hoping he does that in the 2 hole, and just stops bunting pods and uribe over so damn much, and stops giving away outs. Especially when the Sox are behind by more than 2 runs. That's the enitre job of a 2 hitter. To get the leadoff man into scoring position/3rd base.
