QUOTE(SnB @ Nov 28, 2005 -> 09:07 PM) best thread ever Truest thread ever I've been attacked a few times over the past few months, it really is a shock when you see that damn thing hanging from the back of your head.

I love it. This is going to be a great source for trading/buying/selling sox stuff considering how eBAY and the like can be a huge dissapointment at times. Great addition Jason.

They've got some big Delgado pics up and some small Ryan pics so I expect Thome pics sometime soon. Of course they havn't been very efficient of late so I wouldn't be surprised if they don't put any up.

QUOTE(striker62704 @ Nov 28, 2005 -> 05:18 PM) That's the only way the Met's will learn. I was wrong.

QUOTE(qwerty @ Nov 28, 2005 -> 05:05 PM) This should be pretty interesting... Why do you hope he falls down and breaks his back? You're not going to get an answer.

QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Nov 28, 2005 -> 04:04 PM) Anyone else worried about the insulting way this was done... I mean it's not even important enough for KW to show up himself... If i'm Thome i'm pissed as all hell right now... QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Nov 28, 2005 -> 04:05 PM) LOL just read about the kidney stones... Nevermind... God damn, you're reactionary.

QUOTE(knightni @ Nov 28, 2005 -> 02:59 PM) Would the Texans trade down and offer another team Reggie Bush? They don't really need a RB. If they pass on Reggie Bush because they have Dominick Davis, they will regret it forever. Bush will be a superstar in the league for years to come where as Davis ain't looking to hot when he's on the field and not hurt. The Texans aren't exactly set at RB IMO and should take Bush if they end up with the first pick. -
QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Nov 28, 2005 -> 02:23 PM) We mustn't forget that Thome shares an agent with Konerko. They both have Craig Landis. I don't think he would allow one of his clients to take money from another client. So, there is still a chance Paulie will sign because Landis made sure the Sox were still bidders before the Thome trade was done. I'm pretty sure Thome's agent is Pat Rooney not Landis.

QUOTE(GreatScott82 @ Nov 28, 2005 -> 02:31 PM) Just got back from class. Is there a link to the conference? Im interested to see what Thome and KW had to say. KW was not there. Rick Haun, the Assistant GM introduced Thome.

QUOTE(Sox Hustler @ Nov 28, 2005 -> 02:08 PM) Well I think he meant the true Executive of the Year. Thats how I took it at least. The thing is, he's not. Yeah and Rowand won a GG !!KOOLNESS!!
-
QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Nov 28, 2005 -> 02:02 PM) Executive of the Year to be exact... That would be Mark Shapiro.

The Ryan contract could make it possible for the Jays to move him and his a massive contract either after the '06 season ($2M - Delgado style) or after the '07 season ($5M) with the Jays paying him a very small salary for the 2 years. Of course the $40M remaining on the 3 year deal would be giant for any team to pick up and the BJs would likely be hesitant to pick up any of the remaining $40M remaining on the contract which would make it even more difficult to move him. In the end, this contract is a f***ing joke.

I think I may be in love.

I like this guy.

LEFT HANDED POWER BAT!

Duke will make $4.5M next year, is injury prone and 45 years old. I'm not really sure how many teams are going to want him, probably none. We didn' thave a long reliever last year so Duke would be filling a new position in the bullpen. He could be a pretty decent long man and give the Sox something they didn't have last year, even if he is overpaid.

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Nov 27, 2005 -> 02:56 PM) Marte or Vizcaino. And Neither is likely to be cut. They'll be part of a trade. This is also assuming that Hermanson is able to pitch next year.
-
QUOTE(TLAK @ Nov 27, 2005 -> 02:26 PM) At $4.5 million El Duque will be on the team unless his arm falls off. As a long reliever/spot starter. BMac is the 5th starter.

QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Nov 26, 2005 -> 08:50 AM) The way around that is having interleague play year round. There was talk of it before the Brewers moved the NL. I'm not sure how it was supposed to work out but it would never happen anyway. Marlins are staying in the NL. That would be f***ing stupid. The players would never go for it.

QUOTE(MarlinFan84 @ Nov 27, 2005 -> 01:58 AM) I wouldn't mind trading Pierre to you. I'd rather have Brian Anderson than anything the Cubs are offering, but at the same time the prospects we get from the Cubs are presumably going to be used to throw at Cincy and TB for Mo Pena and Gathright. But Brian Anderson intrigues me, I know he is good but was wondering where he fit in the future plans of the White Sox and just how valueable he is to you guys. Brian Anderson is the reason why Aaron Rowand became expendable. We have an abundance of OF prospects in the minors and BA is the one closest to ML ready. In all likelyhood he'll be the Sox' opening day starter in '06 and should be around for a while after that as well.

QUOTE(Antonio Osuna @ Nov 26, 2005 -> 04:01 PM) I can't believe I'm seeing Sox fans use the "attendence = you deserve to lose your team" argument. What hypocrisy. I agree with those who have spoken in favor of the Fighting Fish. It's different when you're team wins championships consistantly as opposed to not supporting a losing team.
