  1. let's get this last out Bobby. Just got off work, I would've loved to have seen the 2 out rally.
  2. It's been a great run. I wish Jim could've gotten a ring with us. Thanks for the memories, especially the homer, the only run, in the play in game last year.
  3. thanks for the tremendous effort you put in with your time as a White Sox!
  4. I have a craving for ribs now.
  5. QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Aug 30, 2009 -> 05:05 PM) Zambrano and the Flubs lost. Today wasn't ALL bad. Awesome. Twins and Tigers still won though.
  6. I blame Soxtalk for getting too emotionally attatched to this team. They couldn't handle the insane amount of pressure we put on them. In reality I think blame goes around to everyone. You win and lose as a team. Everyone is to blame for a loss and everyone is to be cheered for a win. Obviously it's not always black and white like that. But you do win and lose as a team. Changes need to be done throughout a season and besides trades, not many changes have happend with this team. They've been terrible on defense all year, overall the pitching hasn't been good, the batting average has been low all year, the way the team approaches situations with baserunners has been terrible too. We're two games under .500, meaning we're basically an average team.
  7. QUOTE (rangercal @ Aug 30, 2009 -> 05:25 PM) Hello Chicago Pirates! We'd have to keep trading away talent for a few bats and other worthless things like some Backstreet Boys tickets to become the Pirates.
  8. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 30, 2009 -> 05:21 PM) Yeah, Boston is likely going to overpay to keep Bay (Why shouldn't they?) and Holliday is going to be a highest bidder kind of guy, but I don't think moving him back to the AL is intelligent at all. I couldn't see Holliday wanting to come back to the AL.
  9. The defense needs to be better next year. I like Alexei, but I don't like him at shortstop. I preferred him at second base, but second base is already crowded. There are so many infield questions going into next year. Does Ramirez stay at shortstop? Does Beckham stay at third, or does he go to second or short? If Ramirez and Beckham are the middle infielders who plays third base? What becomes of Getz and Nix (or Lillibridge, just to add another name to the list even though it should be fairly obvious what becomes of him)?

QUOTE (mr_genius @ Aug 28, 2009 -> 07:23 PM) It's not just you if that's any consolation. Things are a lot harder, IMO, for young people just getting started than it was for me in the late 90's and way harder than it was for the boomers whom were basically guaranteed a job if they got a college degree. You are going to be competing against experienced people for entry level jobs when unemployment is this high. You still have your youth and energy working for you, try to remain positive even though I know it must be hard to do. Just my 2 cents. I appreciate the input.
  11. Hey, we would've manufactured a run if there wasn't any out before the Thome double. That's something we seem to have problems with.
  12. QUOTE (TitoMB345 @ Aug 28, 2009 -> 07:34 PM) not a chance in hell. CC is going to get a CG SO with 12+ k's No more shutout at least.
  13. QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Aug 28, 2009 -> 07:45 PM) when the sox had a day off, aug 20th. hes played in over 60 games in a row. its clear he needs a breather. will he just bust out of his slump with one day on the bench? probly not but he needs it. what i find odd is that ozzie said hed play everyday unless he got hurt, or if becks tells him he needs a night off OR if he sees his performance going down. well it has Cal Ripken watch out, your streak is in jeopardy!
  14. 5-0 Detroit. Gotta come back and win this one somehow.

I'm looking to get involved in city and local government. I eventually want to be a City Administrator. I am having a TERRIBLE time finding a job, mainly because of the economy and the lack of experience. It's great not being able to get a job because of lack of experience, but no one will hire you to get experience.
  16. QUOTE (Wise Master Buehrle @ Aug 28, 2009 -> 06:55 PM) Gawd I'm gone 2 minutes and Buehrle f***ing implodes. That perfect game could be one of the worst things to happen to our season.... Basically everything went downhill after his no hitter in 2007.
  17. I remember that commercial. haha.
  18. QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ Aug 27, 2009 -> 11:47 AM) This is a Lifetime Movie waiting to happen... Especially if they spice it up with some evil man making fun of her for having two vaginas, and then robbing and/or assulting her. Men are evil!
  19. Football is awesome.
  20. Good job Thome
  21. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Aug 27, 2009 -> 07:16 PM) Why not ? It happens enough when we're down by 1 run in here. Cuz it's not over until it's over. They have enough offense to score 8 runs in the next 7 innings.
  22. Way to go Nix!
  23. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Aug 27, 2009 -> 07:10 PM) Q !!! 7-0 this game is ova ! Yeah let's not call it quite yet. I love the 7-0 score though.
  24. way to go nix!
