  1. I cannot love that enough. This is a huge series. I don't know how tie breakers go, but we need to win at least 2 of the 4 I feel. Sox would still be up 2 games in the loss column with 4 less games to go. But if the Sox could win 3 of 4, they'd tie the season series at 5-5. I would assume the tiebreaker would go to division record? Going 18-2 against half of the division is going to be hard to top. I know I'm getting way overboard on being carried away but IF the Sox can win 3 of 4. They'll be up 4 games in the loss column AND have the presumed tiebreaker with Minnesota. Who knows........just WIN!
  2. MLB.com has 1. Berrios vs Cease 2. Dobnak vs Dunning 3. TBD vs Giolito 4. Maeda vs TBD I hope to God Lopez doesn't start game 4 unless it's been a 3-0 Sox lead in this 4 game series.
  3. I think most of us thought 2020 was the year. Of course this virus has made it a spring instead of a marathon season. Crazy how we wouldn't even be a 1/3 done in a normal season, but we're over 3/4 through this shortened season. It's been great fun this season. Can't wait for the rest of this year, and the future with this team.
  4. I'm ok with the top 3 being division winners, I'm even ok guaranteeing at least 2 in each division make it. But seeds 4-8 should be based on record in my opinion.
  5. Yeah that's the silver lining of Minnesota sweeping Cleveland. Going into the series I was hoping Cleveland took 2 of 3, but at least that should nearly guarantee a top 6 seed.
  6. I'm glad you are, I'm flat out nervous because of this self hex the fans and maybe even the players put on themselves against the Twins. I'm just hoping for a 2/2 Split. Still up 2 in the loss column with 4 less games to go.
  7. What happened? Other than I saw the Twins just won too.
  8. In the words of Hawk with a 60 game special edition version. "For most teams you're going to win 22 games and you're going to lose 22 games. It's the other 16 games that make a difference." Let's finish strong and win this division.
  9. If you're referring to Moncada and Grandal, they're switch hitters (not sure how many of the Rays are switch hitters) but yes I agree. I was being more sarcastic and more directed towards Mazara haha.
  10. I see Tampa Bay started 9 lefties tonight. No wonder why the Sox can't find a good lefthanded batter.
  11. I know yesterday was disappointing but I think we all would take 3-1 vs Pittsburgh if told that before the season. 12-2 vs the two Central division bottom dwellers is pretty darn good.
  12. Yikes this was bad. At least KC beat Cleveland and Minnesota split their DH I guess.
  13. He's an odd dude. Good riddance though. I used to not mind him until he became a Hall of Famer. Super arrogant now.
  14. All of us including the players (I think and maybe the coaches too) just have this psyche problem with the Twins. We have a better, more well rounded team this year, but when we play this team, hitting approaches go out the window. Fundamental defense? Forget about it. Great pitching performances? Not often.
  15. He finds his niche in the bullpen and never gets used. Pisses me off.
  16. One of the stranger games we'll probably see this year, and it certainly feels like 2.7 wins tonight in this shortened season.
  17. Sox are 2 for 16 with runners in scoring position tonight? That's not going to cut it.
  18. So just count him in every 5th day for 2-3 innings if Lopez keeps starting? haha
  19. I assume McCann loves being here, try to sign him to a 2-3 year deal. Let him catch Giolito every fifth game at least. Don't bring back Encarnacion next year so that leaves the DH spot open to a combination of McCann, Grandal, Abreu, and Jimenez. It's possible to have Grandal play 140 games and McCann play 100+ games in a season when using the DH. Let Abreu DH once a week, let Eloy DH once in a while, and roll with the Grandal/McCann combo as your catcher/DH. Would mean we'd need to keep a third catcher on the staff though!
  20. I DON'T CARE IF IT'S THE PIRATES, A NO HITTER IS A NO HITTER!
  21. Wouldn't but such a Renteria move to have Grandal or Collins come out to catch the 9? lol
  22. You knew it was going to happen!
  23. That's what I'm wondering. He started every 5th day last year when he was struggling at times. Now that he's found a niche for him, he never uses him.
  24. Yep didn't think he should've been sent out this inning. Take the 5 innings of scoreless ball and go to the pen.
