We're gonna lose today, we're gonna lose first play today, how we respond after that is the key. this team has been streaky all year, unfortantely the Twins have been on fire the past month and a half. I'm probably in the minority, but I think the Sox will bounce back. -

QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Aug 3, 2008 -> 02:23 PM) Man I think these guys need a brawl....maybe it'll get em going. As long as it's not a brawl where we have suspensions for a month. -

QUOTE (Sox It To Em @ Aug 3, 2008 -> 01:57 PM) .5 back after today. 2003/4 all over again. 2003 was a HUGE dissapointment. 2004 I accepted after Thomas and Ordonez were out for the year in July. -

it's about time we let the Twins have first place, doesn't seem like we want it. -
QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Aug 2, 2008 -> 07:05 PM) I don't want to hear that the Dome isn't a home field advantage. I can't till this team has to play 150+ games a season in an open aired, natural grass stadium's. I don't blame the Twins either. You should build your team around your playing conditions. But don't tell me the Dome has nothing to do with the success they have at home. I completely agree to both comments, especially the first.

The Twins have road series with the Mariners twice, Royals, Angels, A's, Blue Jays, Orioles, Indians, and Rays. I could see the Twins winning the road series agianst the Mariners both times, probably the Royals too. The A's haven't been playing good ball lately so they could win that series, the Orioles are a streaky team, by the time they play the Indians I wouldn't be surprised if they've keeled over, I honestly don't expect the Rays to be in the playoffs and they play them near the end of the year so they could win or at least split the 4 game series. More than likely they will lose a couple of those road series, but I think they have the capability to beat any of these teams. I see the Angels, and depending on who's pitching for the Blue Jays, as the only teams that can give the Twins trouble on the road.

QUOTE (rangercal @ Aug 1, 2008 -> 02:28 AM) I don't think you read the article. This was not an accident. Yeah I was actually in the process of editing my post because I just read it.

I know someone who's cousin was decapitated in a car accident. He was sitting in the back seat and I can't quite remember what it was that got him, but it missed the two people in the front and hit him. That was obviously an accident though.

WAS IT OVER WHEN THE GERMANS BOMBED PEARL HARBOR?
WilliamTell replied to Nokona's topic in Pale Hose Talk
that movie was just on tonight I'm not talking about this thread necessarily, but you know how people go to the Cubs, Tigers, or Twins message boards and talk about things they say and we get a laugh. Ever wonder how often people check our board and laugh at us? -
QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 10:37 PM) or you know, the manager that gave them a nickname to rally around? I watch a lot of Twins games because I like baseball, along with hoping they lose. It is surprising how often they talk about the compliments Ozzie Guillen gives their team. On Tuesday they mentioned that Ozzie said Morneau should be the most feared hitter in baseball, and I've heard before that Mauer is the best catcher in baseball according to Guillen. Other ones are how Guillen tries to mold his team like the Twins. It goes on and on and the compliments of the Twins needs to stop.

7/31 - White Sox @ Minnesota Twins (7:10pm CSN)

QUOTE (Balance @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 08:39 PM) Why was I even feeling slightly optimistic? I never do playing against the Twins. The Twins at the dome are like a cult performing a voodoo hex on the Sox. -

I think Joe Morgan jinxed us when he called us the greatest bullpen ever, or whatever. -

Damnit, I didn't even say he was "heavy set" either. Well I think this game is done unfortunately. We should've won 3 of 4, looks like we'll lose 3 of 4. -

I was hoping for a forfeit, I don't know if Comcast showed Ozzie getting into it with a couple of fans, yelling back at them and stuff, but it was kind of cool to see, yet he probably shouldn't have done that. -
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 30, 2008 -> 10:50 AM) Taking American jobs.... lol that might be the funniest thing I've heard in a while, but it is so true, and yet we don't mind.
-
QUOTE (Maxwell @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 06:50 PM) Why? They will rarely play. And I mean rarely. Anderson the best outfielder defensively on the team and Wise brings speed off the bench.
-
I'd prefere Ozzie to go with 11 pitchers, then we could keep both Wise and Anderson up.
-
I'm confused about the trade but this just means FOR SURE I'm going to see a White Sox game this year. Before it was up in the air since I'm going to Yankee Stadium and Fenway Park in a few weeks.
-
I would guess he's not going to play tonight. Partially because he just got traded, and also we're playing on turf, wouldn't that suck if some freak injury happened because of the turf up there.

QUOTE (chisox2334 @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 09:39 AM) poor masseett lol someone has to be sacraficed, haha no but I did like him, most of the time I wasn't comfortable with him on the mound, but I wish the best of luck to him.

QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 09:36 AM) LOL, okay, logically this wasn't a very good deal for us... but as a baseball fan, I'm smiling and laughing and I think this is awesome. I'm with you on this. I don't know how old you are, but if you're like the majority of the board here, you were a youngster when Griffey seemed like a God like figure in baseball. Getting Griffey brings the kid back in me and excites me as well.

QUOTE (kane0730 @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 09:30 AM) Assumiing Kong is the odd man out, here is the line-up I'd like to see: OC AJ CQ Thome Dye Griffey Lexi Swisher Fields And who knows what the lineup would be like if Cabrera ends up getting traded. I understand the left, right, left, right part of the lineup. But I'd rather see Dye bat 4th and put two lefties in a row with Thome and Griffey, against a RHP anyways.
