  1. You guys have a point about leaving Quentin in the 6 hole or so. I was thinking more along the lines of getting the .225 average or so of our first 3 hitters up for Konerko and Dye.
  2. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 01:33 PM) Was Mauer a switch hitter when he first came up, or has he always been a leftie only? I think he's always been lefty, I could be wrong though.
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 01:32 PM) Why not turn this game over to our bullpen? We have tomorrow off. And so they did.
  4. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 01:31 PM) At this point I'd rather bat Crede 2nd over Cabrera. Quentin would be the optimal 2nd hitter right now. Swisher Quentin Thome Konerko Dye Pierzynski Crede Cabrera Uribe
  5. Young has had a lot of action in left the past couple of innings.
  6. I suppose I won't get on Toby's case since he just saved a run and already has a hit in the game. Good rip though.
  7. Why would they send Gomez to 3rd, the guy is fast enough to score on a hit to the outfield anyways, unless they were planning on getting another infield hit.
  8. I don't know how that was an out at home, need to see the replay.
  9. The Twins might put up a crooked number this inning.
  10. and that my friends is a typical Minnesota Twins bounce.
  11. haha I would prefere it Quentin would use two hands to catch the ball. It bothers me and worries me when players don't use two hands.
  12. the dreaded lead off walk plus a stolen base waiting to happen.
  13. QUOTE (soxfan3530 @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 12:57 PM) time to get nailed carlos. haha he probably will next at bat. They're due to hit someone, they almost hit Crede, but Carlos will get nailed since he's a magnet.
  14. Dye likes to swing at balls below the strike zone.
  15. I think it's stickied because one of our own wrote it. It's a good read.
  16. Swisher needs to get going if he's going to be the leadoff hitter. His success is even more important than I could've imagined.
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 29, 2008 -> 09:48 PM) Never in a million years did I think I would be disappointed in seeing Gavin Floyd go 6 innings, 3 runs (2 earned) when he had no command of his fastball. True that. And I never thought we'd be in first place, even if it is like a 14-11 record.
  18. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Apr 29, 2008 -> 08:38 PM) Ballgame over. We're 0-11 in those 42 other ones as of now... The game that we beat the Twins with Crede's Grand Slam I thought we stole that win. So I'd say 1-11 for sure, there might even be others out there I just can't remember them. But for now I'll go with 1-11-1 since the Baltimore game isn't done yet.
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 29, 2008 -> 09:37 PM) That was quite the half-assed "stretch". lol I wish I could've heard that, "stretch" is the most annoying Hawkism to me.
  20. we've had a couple of those deep hits but nothing to show far. Cmon AJ, find a way to get on so Carlos has a shot at tying the game.
  21. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 29, 2008 -> 09:35 PM) Why can't every game be on Sunday? If we were an NFL team, we'd rule. The Sox have dominated on Sunday all season. lol I remember in 2005 and 2006 Ozzie would put half the bench players in the Sunday lineup. Willie Harris, Timo Perez, etc. Don't get too excited Dick Bremer, it was Konerko running.
  22. Konerko, Dye, Pierzynski vs. Nathan, doesn't look good.
