  1. I think Soto should be ahead of AJ Swisher should be ahead of Johnson Dye should be ahead of Fukudome
  2. Got anything else for us Mother Nature, got a blizzard or, a hurricane, or an iceberg, haha.
  3. Ramirez has been strong recently so I wouldn't mind him being in center even though he's a liablility fielding at times. Ramirez, Anderson, Owens, Loften, there are a lot of names mentioned to play center right now. I probably wouldn't sign Loften because he's probably not going to play very often once Konerko gets back, and that means we'll either have to send Anderson or Ramirez down to the minors, or release Ozuna to keep Lofton on the roster. I initially liked the idea of bringing up Owens but the more I looked at the schedule, we have 13 games in the next 15 days. 6 of them are at National League ball parks. I would assume Thome is going to start 4 or 5 games at first base with Swisher in center meaning there will be under 10 games to have Owens, Anderson, or Ramirez starting in center. I would prefere to have Ramirez and Anderson play in center. Or we could have Ramirez play second base and let Anderson play in center. Getting Uribe out of the lineup is always a positive, haha.
  4. QUOTE (WCSox @ Jun 16, 2008 -> 09:12 AM) Agreed and I'll add that Thome going on the DL might not be a bad thing either. Paulie hasn't been healthy for at least a month, but Thome looks like he's done. His BB/K ratio is terrible right now. And that's alarming because he's getting blown away with low-90's fastballs, which suggests that he's lost bat speed due to age. As for Griffey, he'd only be a marginal improvement over Thome. And the Sox would have to cut Thome if they made the move. And I'm not sure that they'd want to do that, as (1) Griffey probably wants to play close to his home in Florida and (2) the PR backlash from cutting Thome might be significant. Lofton is still available, but who knows how long it'll take him to get his swing back. And since neither Fields or anybody else in the Sox's farm system would be an improvement, I don't see them doing anything. The bottom line is that the Sox are going to have to win with JD, Quentin, Crede, AJ, and Swisher. They can't rely on PK or JT this year. It's doable because that's still a pretty solid lineup, but all of those guys are going to have to have solid second halves. It's doable as long as the pitching keeps being strong.
  5. I would prefere Crede to not try for the walk off and pop it up, instead try for a line drive hit.
  6. I like Thome, I really do, but I've always felt like he clogs up our lineup. Occasionally he'll get a home run or a walk, but normally it's a strike out or some put out with the shift.
  7. I miss the Konerko circa 2000 where he'd go for the line drive hits.
  8. Crede is a Twins killer like I said before.
  9. I'm so angry. I've been looking forward to this for 3 weeks and I have tornado warnings all around me in every direction, so I can't watch it.
  10. haha it's not Darryl Boston is it? anyways ESPN2 had breaking news that Konerko hit a walk off homer.
  11. haha Olivo, I really liked him when he was with us, but this is the first year he's actually been somewhat productive. I'll take Garcia and signing AJ over losing him and Jeremy Reed.
  12. I was hoping it'd be Spurs and Pistons because the NBA has been banking on the Lakers and Celtics matchup. Oh well, these games should be pretty entertaining.
  13. makes me wanna take the 45 minute drive down there to knock some skulls together.
  14. I would say Charles City's 3 tornadoes at once were the worst, but that's my opinion.
  15. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 28, 2008 -> 06:40 PM) Found that town - Bradgate, Iowa. Here is the Wiki page, and an article about the 2004 tornado that destroyed three quarters of the town's homes. I can't find anything about the older tornado in the town, or a town website. But that's the one. Destroyed by tornadoes twice, still people living there. Stupid me, I should've known it, and obviously it rings a bell since you said it. Bradgate was one of the towns my friend and I went on during our second of three fifty town trips. Although that trip ended up being 65 small Iowa towns. We like to go and see these small towns, it takes up the whole day to do it, but that's ok. However with gas prices our 4th trip might be put on hold.
  16. I got this in an email today, pretty crazy stuff as to what happened in Parkersburg, New Hartford, and Sinclair. http://picasaweb.google.com/generaldcmills...893272879008178 They were taken by pilots Galen Eilderts and Galen Isley
  17. The same people are always voted in. Ichiro will always make it, Vlad seems to always make it, if you put up halfway decent numbers with Boston or New York you'll make it.
