QUOTE (daa84 @ Apr 29, 2008 -> 09:30 PM) potentially either a player we got back...or even brian roberts after we used some prospects that we acquired for garland to get roberts I would've prefered to keep Garland and get rid of Contreras if at all possible. I forgot Ramirez can play 2nd too, so him and Pablo could've worked at 2nd.

QUOTE (Soxpranos @ Apr 29, 2008 -> 09:26 PM) If he does , he should be fired. I did not like when we got him , but to resign him is a bad move. I didn't like the trade either but if we didn't have OC, who would be playing 2nd base right now, Pablo? I wouldn't mind that but I know a lot on the site would mind.

according to Dick Bremer that sounded like the greatest play ever.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Apr 29, 2008 -> 09:16 PM) We're near the bottom of the league in Avg. We're not hitting particularly well. But we are getting timely hitting in April for the most part. It worries me because you can't always count on timely hitting to win games. I'd much rather have the average around .270 than .245 with timely hitting. Obviously wins are the most important stat so however that happens is ok by me, but it'd be better getting more hits.

Let's see how the Twins execute to get the runner at 2nd in.
-
At least Crede did something productive this inning.
-
I'm going to change my approach. I highly doubt the Sox are going to win this game. Their approach is pathetic right now. CQ just swung at 2 balls in the dirt, Dye, AJ, and Uribe have been swinging at terrible pitches too. Swisher and Crede haven't gotten it going tonight. Too many negatives to make a positive out of this game.
-
95 pitches for Bonser, let's a couple of people on base, hopefully a run, and get him out of the game.
-
AJ swung at ball 3.

QUOTE (knightni @ Apr 29, 2008 -> 06:40 PM) See. Broadway should have been called up for MacDougal, then sent down for Wassermann tomorrow. That seems logical and would've been pleasurable to watch Broadway play, but it seems logic and pleasure don't mix with the Sox thinking sometimes.
-
Bonser has had only 7 runs in 5 starts coming into tonight. He's had 3 this game, and could get more. I guess it's not that surprising to me that the Twins would decided to help Bonser out against the Sox of all teams but the way the Sox are approaching the plate, just one or two runs would be enough for a win.

The Twins announcers said that Torii Hunter crashing into Jamie Burke in 2004 did more for the White Sox than the Twins. The White Sox got tougher and played harder and ended up winning the World Series in 2005. There could be some truth to it, never really thought about it.

QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Apr 29, 2008 -> 07:09 PM) are 20-something Iowans more likely to move to Chicago or Minneapolis? sorry it's taken me long to reply, I was busy. But most of them in Northern Iowa, where I'm from, go to Minneapolis, although I do know some that go to Chicago and Kansas City. Des Moines and Cedar Rapids or pretty popular for the Iowa towns.
-
Just took it.

I'm at home so I have to listen to the Twins announcers, oh man........

QUOTE (Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Apr 29, 2008 -> 05:03 PM) ... and yet countless new threads will continue to appear with him being traded. This is true.
-
Looks like the Nuggets will be the only team that won't get a playoff win. Maybe next year they can work on their defense, that's what lost it for them tonight.

Sweeney with a 2 RBI single. 10-2 Oakland.

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Apr 28, 2008 -> 11:05 PM) Frank just got a gapper against Garland in the 7th for a double . Took Garland out after that and pinch ran for Frank so no chance to get the HR and finish the Cycle. Are you kidding me? The cycle? You know if he gets another at bat he's going for it. EDIT: Dang, I read that wrong, taking Frank out, that sucks.
-
Konerko's been in a groove lately, add Dye and our 2,3,4,5 definately isn't the worst. It's at least in the top half of the league.
-
That's awesome that Frank got a triple of Garland.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 28, 2008 -> 07:13 PM) Aw hell, do I keep counting this game in the tally I've got going below or not? I'd say count it, the game went 12 innings. Then you don't have to count the makeup portion of the game, unless it goes another 6 innings or more. They better get this game in, we don't quit at 12 innings like the All-Star Game in Milwaukee.

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 28, 2008 -> 06:15 PM) Swisher should have never been bunting. And see my post about the inside fastballs they were obviously throwing to Anderson. I know you've played baseball...the inside fastball is the worst pitch to bunt. haha the last game I ever played in high shcool I laid down an inside fast ball. I'm a lefty and it was supposed to be a sac bunt but somehow I got it perfectly down the line and beat it out as a single. It was my last career baseball hit. Great story I know......
