Game Thread: LAA (Williams) @ White Sox (Quintana), 6:10pm

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 11, 2013 -> 09:18 PM) Even Dayan has walks in two consecutive games. In fact, we'll start to see it more often if Keppinger continues to hit behind him. Who would want to pitch to Viciedo instead of Kepp? No brainer. I'm not one to use the "I told you so" phrase, but I wasn't a fan of signing him, or Dunn two years ago. A .193 and .137 pair of hitters batting 2 and 4 for most of the year so far. Are you kidding me? We already know and talk about Dunn constantly. And who knows, I'm not on the board too often anymore, so maybe Keppinger gets talked about constantly too, but he is beyond rediculous. Can't take a walk, apparently can't get above the Mendoza line currently, doesn't have any power, and seems to make costly errors and rediculously bad times. Please Beckham come back! -

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ May 11, 2013 -> 09:11 PM) Sacrifices affect your OBP, not your AVG, thus, your OBP can be lower than your AVG. It'd be nice for Keppinger to take a walk sometime. That statistical oddity is annoying me. -

The White Sox make me sad sometimes. A lot this year. -
David Price (0-2 5.52 ERA) vs. Dylan Axelrod (0-1 3.80 ERA) Somebody's gotta get a win.......maybe. Let's Go Sox!

GT 4/21/13 Twins vs. SOX @ 1:10 pm on WGN
WilliamTell replied to The Ginger Kid's topic in 2013 Season in Review
The Fox Sports North intro was terrible today. Talked about the rivalry between the Sox and Twins. Started off like, "For every David, you need a Goliath, for every Hafield, you need a McCoy, for every Torii Hunter, you need a Jamie Burke." Then proceeded to play the collision from like 10 years ago. Those guys just do not forget about that play. Then showed highlights from other sucessful Twins moments but seemed to forget to show the Sox winning the World Series in 05 or losing the play in game to Chicago in 08. -
Lol flash back to the days when we constantly gave Minnesota runs.

Chris Getz just hit his first homer in 954 at bats. First one since 2009 with the White Sox.

Well I DON'T love my job. In fact I really dislike it. Obviously the thing I could do is quit and find another job, and I've been trying. I've had a BA in Public Administration for 4 years now, with not much to show for it. I'd love to get involved in local government and eventually become a city administrator. My current job is working at a lumber company. Basically I'm a delivery driver that does a few other things. I've started to call myself a Construction Supplies Specialist just for fun. But my workplace is kind of rediculous when it comes to the coworkers. It's unreal how much polarization there is between the salesmen/saleswoman and the delivery drivers/yard workers. We had performance evaluations a couple weeks ago and I got into trouble from the head manager about using the word polarization along with criticizing overall performance by the store in general. I guess I thought I could be critacally honest in our annual evaluation. Regardless what's really been the tipping point for me is something as stupid as the sales people and head manager buying lunch at least on a weekly basis using the company card and not getting the delivery drivers/yard workers any lunch. It may sound like I'm whining and I probably am, I'm just fed up with the people I deal with. Obviously there's a lot more than just the lunch deal, such as having to drive 10 minutes across town this past week to tell a contractor to turn his phone on so a salesman could talk to him....no joke....nothing was being delivered to this contractor.

2013 NCAA Men's Basketball Championship Thread

This officiating is making me angry. First with no goaltending call on Hardaway's layup. Second with Burke's 2nd foul. Other little things, but now switching foul's to other players. Hancock should have 4 fouls now. -

My best friend used to live on Prairie View Lane, so go Prairie View A&M I guess. -
QUOTE (kev211 @ Mar 30, 2013 -> 09:00 PM) Don't sleep on the valley. I guarantee WSU can keep it closer then 15. Hell Illinois freaking state completely outplayed Louisville @ Louisville earlier this year. If it wasn't for a screw job at the end they would have beat them. Adding to that, Northern Iowa only lossed to Louisville by 5 earlier this season. Wichita St. has beat everyone fair and square this tournament. Not that Gonzaga deserved a #1 seed but the Zags probably would've won against Wichita St. had the Shockers not hit five 3 pointers in a row in a span of five minutes or so. Gonzaga lost to a better team last Saturday just like Ohio St. did today. That's why they play the game. It's a single elimination tournament which makes anything possible. If this was a best of 3 game series, good shot Ohio St. would've won the series.

If I was ever ok with a court storming game it'd be for this one. Good job Bulls!

QUOTE (fathom @ Mar 24, 2013 -> 10:38 PM) I missed the last minute, but supposedly Ole Miss got screwed by the refs even more than Iowa St or Illinois tonight on a last minute call. I didn't see most of that game either, it's the one I missed today but I'm getting so fed up with the officiating so far this tournament. It seemed like hald of the games this weekend had terrible calls that were game changers.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Mar 23, 2013 -> 10:19 PM) There have been a lot of upsets, but not so dramatic endings. The only really exciting one was Marquette/Davidson. After watching Marquette take out Butler, they really have to be kicking themselves even more down in Virginia. One ill-advised pass away from possibly being the Cinderella School of the Sweet 16. Now that title goes to WSU or Oregon. But those are not huge shockers, not to those who follow basketball year-in, year-out. Florida Gulf Coast would be the biggest story if they could win tmrw, and Creighton/Temple/LaSalle could also be legit underdog stories. Last 9 seed to knock out a 1 was UNI, I think. UNI was underseeded that year too. Most people thouht they'd be a 6 seed.

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Mar 23, 2013 -> 10:15 PM) Join a conference, everyone else is It's probably hard to do in the West part of the country when they don't have a football program. Maybe a conference would let them in somewhere?

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Mar 23, 2013 -> 10:08 PM) Too be fair, Witchita St. is a bad 3 pt shooting teams that shot out of their ass and the whole game changed when the refs ignored an obvious foul when Olynyk went up for a dunk and then ignored a travel by WSU on the other end which ended up in a 3 for WSU. Plus Bell was hurt and missed basically the whole 2nd half. Missing Bell was the biggest problem for Gonzaga since he's their best defender but you have to overcome that if you're a #1 seed. It's too bad for them, no one ever would've thought Wichita St. would make 7 3's in a row.

I liked how Tom Izzo said he was rooting for all the Big Ten schools. He's a whiner during the game in my opinion, but seems like a classy guy overall.

The Wichita St./Gonzaga game should be a good game to watch. I've been looking into Gonzaga's regular season schedule, they went 8-2 against teams who made the NCAA tournament. 3 of those wins were with St. Mary's though. What makes me wonder about Gonzaga is because of the tournament teams they beat. 10. Oklahoma 14. Davidson 15. Pacific 4. Kansas St. 5. Oklahoma St. 11. St. Mary's All of those teams lost in the round of 64. The two teams they lost to (7. Illinois and 6. Butler) each won their first game. I've been extremely high on Gonzaga all year long, but I thought it was surprising every team they beat has already lost. And this might not mean anything at all, Gonzaga is pretty good, but just how good they are remains to be seen.

Great game Michigan!

McGary is currently on beast mode, and I've never meant it so literal before.

QUOTE (Brian @ Mar 23, 2013 -> 11:55 AM) SoxBadger has this game nailed so far. Michigan not converting fast breaks again. Bad habit. Yeah 4 on 1 fast break and can't get a score is terrible. But they're coming alive right now.
-
They're going to do it!

This is fantastic so far. Go Coast!
