2007 Fantasy Baseball Sign Up
BuehrleTheAce replied to ZoomSlowik's topic in PTC/Contest/Fantasy Board
I've been playing FBB for several years now, and won my league last year I would prefer a head-to-head set up with most if not all the members actively participating. I was in league 6 last year and league 7 the year before. -

BuehrleTheAce replied to ZoomSlowik's topic in PTC/Contest/Fantasy Board
I (The Acesses) won League 6 over That Funky Motion. After reaching the bottom before the All Star break, The Acesses charged back in the second half to finish 3rd during the regular season. Chitown Wannabes was 1st, Genesis was 2nd, That Funky Motion 4th, .................... 5th, and Curb Stompers 6th. In the first round of the playoffs, The Acesses downed Curb Stompers, while That Funky Motion took out .................... In the second round, The Acesses eliminated genesis and That Funky Motion sent Chitown Wannabes home early. Final Standings: 1. The Acesses 2. That Funky Motion 3. Chitown Wannabes 4. Genesis 5. Curb Stompers 6. .................... -

I hope it happens!

Glad I checked here. I never got a PM telling me the league had been set up. I hope the season goes smoother than it did last year and how it's starting this year

I watched every single pitch. I didn't go to sleep until 2:30am (East Coast). Got up at 6:30 for work. Yea, I'm doing pretty good today!!

Konerko's postseason plaudits well-deserved
BuehrleTheAce replied to IlliniKrush's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I've been in Paulie's corner every day since he's been with the White Sox and I too have seen and felt the wrath of the nay-sayers and Konerko bashers. I suck it up and deal with it because like you said SSS, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. However I think your holier-than-thou attitude will bring out the more vocal and/or militant nay-sayers instead of those who would intelligently debate the merits of Paul Konerko. It almost seems you want to start an arguement with your post than to laud Konerko for stepping up when it counted. Remember it's not always what you say, but how you say it. -
QUOTE(YASNY @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 12:32 PM) What can I say that hasn't been said? For 40+ years I've been a die hard fan of this team. Every spring I was filled with hope. I remember losing to Yanks in '64 by 1 game. I remember the collapse against the Senators and the A's in '67. I distinctly remembering that we lost to a rookie named Blue Moon Odom! Damn, that sucked. I remember the excitement generated by Bill Veeck's Southside Hit Men in '77, only to have reality rear it's ugly head once again. I remember Britt Burns pitching his ass off, only to have Jerry Dubzinski screw up at second base in '83. I remember losing to Jays in'93 and losing the opportunity in '94. I remember hoping beyond hope that our shell of a pitching staff could pull of a miracle in '00. I'll always remember the '05 Sox. Finally, after all these years, I'll get to see MY White Sox in the World Series! I cannot put into words how I feel right now. My father called me after the last out ... He put me on speaker phone so my mother and sister could hear the conversation. I have to tell you, folks. During that conversation, I'm bawling! I'm still at a loss for words about this. Just the most totally awesome feeling I have ever experienced short of watching my sons being born. While I haven't been a fan of the White Sox nearly as long as you have, you echo my feelings of seeing this team reach the ultimate baseball stage. I am so proud of this team, words can't even begin to describe how I've been feeling since that last toss out to Kong at first base. YASNY, I applaud you for your years of following this team. I've never been a fair-weather fan, as I've supported some very awful teams in the sports that I like, so I know precisely where you're coming from when you finally realize your team has turned the corner and (nearly) reached the pinnacle of its particular sport. 7 in the books, 4 to go until the ultimate prize!

AND THATS A WHITE SOX PLAYOFF WINNER
BuehrleTheAce replied to NUKE_CLEVELAND's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I am so speechless, I don't know what to say This was simply, and beautifully, amazing! Thank you Chicago White Sox for showing the world that you were not a regular season fluke! -

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX DIVISION WINNER!!!!
BuehrleTheAce replied to AddisonStSox's topic in 2005 Season in Review
Congrats to every single White Sox who contributed on the 2005 AL Central division championship team. Now go out and do in the post-season what you've done all regular season and make us all even prouder of each and every one of you! -

QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 21, 2005 -> 04:09 PM) Now, this is just funny. Keep it up boys! That's the first thing I thought too. I love it! -

Welcome Geoff! May your ride on the Sox Train prove fruitful at season's end!

Yep, Photoshop. Typically you start with a picture (subject) that you want to build a sig around, then start playing around I thought there was also a request forum here somewhere where people ask others to make them sig pics...?

I dunno about Aaron, but Crede has shown exactly how much his D means to this club by getting hurt. This side of California, there isn't a third baseman I'd want manning the hot corner other than Crede.

What a way to comeback and show them the moxie of this club this year!

The First White Sox wedding about to happen
BuehrleTheAce replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I dunno, perhaps I'm old fashioned but something like this would never appeal to me. As an aside, the McDonalds next to where I work had a wedding today. Yes, an actual wedding, plus the reception afterward (under - you guessed it - a red and yellow tent!). The groom was dressed in his finest denim from what I heard. The bride had not shown up by the time my co-workers came back to work. They got autographed pics of Ronald too. Some things people do still amaze me, even after all the weirdness I've experienced. One would think, by now, I'd be accustomed to it. -

QUOTE(Benchwarmerjim @ Jul 10, 2005 -> 12:37 PM) James the Twins fan checking in here. (dont throw anything at me yet!) Well, its the All Star break and your team is running away with the division. I must give your team some props for an outstanding first half. I kept hoping for some sort of slowdown so my team can catch up, but it never happened. But I also must say, you Sox Fans here... you guys and gals are pretty cool.I had this thought about Sox Fans as just being a beligerant blowhards. Boy I was wrong. A lot of you are very passionate about your team, and a lot of you are very knowledgable about your team, baseball in general, and the whole world. And you cant knock a bunch of folks for that. Im not quite throwing in the towel, but 10 games is a lot of games to make up. But you never know And if your team does make it to the playoffs and my team doesnt, well youll have one person here cheering for ya James ok now you can throw things at me That's all well and good, but Tori Hunter is still a little b****! I hope he's got eyes in the back of his head Thanks for the nice words, but this thing is only half over so far. Anything can happen after the ASB (but I hope it stays the way it's been going). Cheers!
