  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 23, 2015 -> 11:18 PM) He looks incredibly stiff vs RHP, which slows down his bat speed and makes it nearly impossible for him to clear his hips to pull the ball with any authority. If you watch him against LHP, he seems to open up so much better. I don't buy that. He is a rotational hitter. He goes bat knob first, hands tight, and then the bat follows through. The bat speed is generated by how quickly he gets his bat knob forward in this style. His stance is stiff because you are taught to drive into the ground and widen out in that style.
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 23, 2015 -> 11:16 PM) How can a hitting coach look at Avi's mechanics and not try to fix them? What is wrong with his mechanics.
  3. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Apr 23, 2015 -> 11:08 PM) Where did Greg make a now damned predicition? He is too busy wiping his chin from his Royals love.
  4. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Apr 23, 2015 -> 11:07 PM) Why was Emilio so far off on the cut off? Seriously Why is Emilio in the game? Thats a better question.
  5. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 23, 2015 -> 10:59 PM) I predict Hosmer knocks in the winning run ... if he's not ejected by then. Go to the Royals board and post your drivel there. We dont care.
  6. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 23, 2015 -> 10:54 PM) I'm officially pissed off. We had last bats four straight innings and can't beat this team. Pisses me off. Officially no one cares.
  7. you can move the puck at will into the opponents ice until you get a man advantage. then you can't even get entry. Andrew Shaw stop taking stupid penalties.
  8. QUOTE (SCCWS @ Apr 21, 2015 -> 09:32 PM) Agree but Coop is not letting Flowers call the pattern. Watch how often Flowers looks over to the dugout. His head looks like a swivel. Who cares, even if pitches were being called by the bench. Its up to the pitcher to execute them. Its not like he was getting squeezed. He was missing by quite a bit. You need to command the fastball in this league.
  9. QUOTE (TitoMB @ Apr 21, 2015 -> 09:29 PM) going straight by the numbers, Rodon looks like he pitched like crap. how did he actually look?
  10. QUOTE (SCCWS @ Apr 21, 2015 -> 09:27 PM) You can bet that Coop gave Flowers instructions on what he wants the kid to throw. Rodon is way too important to let Flowers call his game before he really understands his arsenal. His arsenal is a fastball and a slider. His changeup is a work in progress. So lots of fastballs and when he gets ahead sliders. If he cant throw either for a strike, then the playbook is out the door. Its not like they didnt catch the kid a bunch of times in spring training. He was jacked up and his command was s***. It happens.
  11. QUOTE (DashFan @ Apr 21, 2015 -> 09:15 PM) Robin Ventura had two jobs today: 1. Give away a game to a division opponent. 2. Destroy any confidence Carlos Rodon may have came into the majors with. Done & done. He was a friday night pitcher in college, and is the #3 pick overall. I dont believe confidence will be his problem.
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 21, 2015 -> 09:12 PM) What's annoying is Rodon wasn't ready yet for the majors He is not keeping closed. This causes the ball to be left up and in on the lefties. Most likely due to a lot of adrenaline. He just needs to relax and pitch. He will be fine.
  13. He keeps flying open. He needs to close off or throwing strikes will be difficult. When he over compensates he throws it into the ground.
  14. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 20, 2015 -> 09:49 PM) Yeah, if we can get 5-6 "Can't miss" big leaguers, maybe I would accept it, too. I heard Hawk tell somebody on the air recently that this current team will win a WS w/in the next 2-3 years, though. I believe you, truly do. I don't like to jinx the team, either. I dont trust our scouting to locate 5 or 6 cant miss guys.
  15. Avi still knows how to hit. He swung that wooden thing towards the thrown ball.
  16. Wonder if Ventura is getting the bunt signal ready.
  17. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Apr 20, 2015 -> 09:30 PM) It's a good question, would you take our last decade including '05 or the Tigers' last decade? How about winning the world series in 05 and still making the playoffs more than a few times in a 100 years. The redsox did the same thing we did, and kept building on it.
  18. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 20, 2015 -> 09:27 PM) Yep, the Sox were counting on increased attendance to fund the moves they made. If the Sox suck this year and attendance drops again, then they will almost definitely be cutting payroll. If they under perform and are out of it by June. Well the shark will be sold. After that who knows.
  19. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Apr 20, 2015 -> 09:14 PM) From 1997-2008 we had a winning record against the AL Central every season. From 2009-2014 the only season we had a winning record against our division was 2012. I'm getting really sick of being unable to beat our division foes. This sucks. With the amount of games against your division you have to win divisional games to have a chance. Losing large amounts of games to your divisional foes makes it nearly impossible.
  20. QUOTE (TitoMB @ Apr 20, 2015 -> 09:10 PM) are we going to be 7 GB after 12 games? really? Its early. We keep on playing like this against the division and early will become hey look X team once in a 100 years came back from 20 down to win the division.
