4/20- White Sox vs Cleveland Indians
How about someone who has actual experience managing. It can be in the minors. Just promoting guys that you happen to own a poster of doesn't make them good managers. Expect better. Not just random childhood heroes.

New ownership
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 12, 2015 -> 02:34 PM) Soxtalk's ownership group expanded earlier as my wife gave birth to our new son. They are currently sleeping in the hospital being serenaded to hawk and stone while I stream the game from my phone. In twenty years sox might have a new starter to join their rotation! Congrats to you and your wife. Remember to enjoy this. They grow up quick. It only seems like yesterday we welcomed our first.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 15, 2015 -> 02:43 PM) 4 AB. As for Eaton, you can blame Robin all you want, but the fact remains, he should be able to get a bunt down. The fact remains that you shouldn't call for a 2 strike bunt with 0 outs in the 9th facing a hard throwing righty who has shown an inability to throw strikes.

Maybe next year instead of Vince Coleman teaching them how to run into outs we can dedicate more time to learning how to catch the ball. Have our catchers work on their throws to 2nd. And I know they do it but obviously not enough.- 4/15 - White Sox vs Indians
Well that was called by the bench and it's wrong on first guess.- 4/14 - White sox vs Indians
That was a nice ending to the game. Bullpen came up, threw strikes and had people swinging and missing. Great stuff. Great win.- 4/14 - White sox vs Indians
QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Apr 14, 2015 -> 08:42 PM) The errors are WAY more concerning than the base running. CLEAN IT UP Base running can be blamed on being too aggressive. The errors are a lack of execution. Major league teams need to make the routine plays.- 4/14 - White sox vs Indians
Christ Alexei throw the ball, hose the f***ing ball over there.- 4/12 - Twins vs White Sox
QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 12, 2015 -> 02:34 PM) Well, Hawk and Stoney are acting like teams have figured out Micah and he can't hit a high pitch and that's all he's gonna get in his career. Again, why can't our advance scouts do as good a job as other teams? The balls we hit are always right at defenders. Let me make it real simple. A pitcher throws a ball on a downward plane. The bat comes in to make contact at a similar ratio. So if you throw a ball chest high, how hard is it to get the correct plane to make solid contact with said pitch. There are some guys who can absolutely murder a high pitch. Most guys just get under it and pop the ball up. You want you fast guys hitting line drives or keeping the ball on the ground. You dont want them wasting their speed by putting the ball into the air a lot. Which will happen at a higher ratio when you attempt to hit high pitches.- 4/12 - Twins vs White Sox
QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 12, 2015 -> 02:18 PM) How come Micah can't hit a high pitch? Hawk and Stoney seem insistent he has to lay off it. Does this mean Micah is gonna be another bust? How did you take the fact that a speedster should lay off high pitches as an indicator of being a bust. I want to connect the dots on this thought process.- 4/12 - Twins vs White Sox
Flowers will wind up losing his job sooner than later.- 4/12 - Twins vs White Sox
That has to be the contact play for him to go home. If he went on his own then terrible.- 4/12 - Twins vs White Sox
QUOTE (TitoMB @ Apr 12, 2015 -> 01:41 PM) can someone who has a more experience than high school baseball explain, realistically, how a hitter is supposed to adjust when seeing a 90 MPH fastball followed up by a 97 MPH fastball? that just seems like a tall order. especially if the pitch looks exactly the same leaving his hand. Its not really fair. I face a kid who pitched for the U of I and he was a lefty throwing anywhere from 82 to 85 but he had probably the best changeup I had ever seen. Same exact motion, same arm angle. He would add and subtract velocity and just ate our lineup up. I can't imagine something doing the same thing with 90 to 98. He is all arms and legs. He can't be a very comfortable AB.- 4/11 - Twins vs White Sox
Very nice. Put the ball in play and things happen.- GAME THREAD 4/10, MIN @ SOX

QUOTE (daggins @ Apr 10, 2015 -> 06:06 PM) But hey, who gives a crap about the first four games? Well luckily we are great against our division. So I am not worried.- GAME THREAD 4/10, MIN @ SOX
QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 10, 2015 -> 06:04 PM) At least the pressure is off this lousy team. At 0-4 and with modern society having a short attention span, most everybody will have given up on this team after the ninth inning today. So the players can relax and maybe score some runs and win some games. The non zealot fan might pay attention again if we ever get four or five over .500. Til then relax White Sox cause nobody cares. You know what would fix this team.- GAME THREAD 4/10, MIN @ SOX
This was a team that couldn't score a run against the Tigers until the last game of their series. It was also a pitching staff that gave up runs in droves. All fixed by a trip to the southside.- GAME THREAD 4/10, MIN @ SOX
QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 10, 2015 -> 05:59 PM) You got to admit, the beards don't look good when a team is this bad (so far). At least admit that. I don't particularly like Robin, but this is a cliche you are aware. We had the fiery, crazy Ozzie and people wanted him gone. Now we have the laid back Robin and we're going to hear more and more about how we need fire. I didn't want to disagree with the offseason euphoria, but I did dispress my displeasure at the Melky acquisition and the LaRoche signing scared me because he's old by today's standards. Not giving up, but I agree with those fans who just booed that pathetic throw by Flowers. Did a man with a beard scare you at some point in your life. You seem to have this odd thing with beards. - 4/15 - White Sox vs Indians
