  1. QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Jul 26, 2015 -> 03:41 PM) After the Cleveland series, this team is definitely not a "seller" anymore. The only question is "are we a buyer?" Do we go out and get a bat? Or do we not mess with the outstanding chemistry this team has developed? I know its dangerous to mess with a roster that is already a World Series contender, but I'd really like to see us add someone who can hit 20 HRs and drive in 50 runs down the stretch. I really think this is the missing link that could insure us the first championship in 10 years. Let's experience the joy of 2005 over again in the coming months! You pull this routine on every message board. A roster that is already a World Series contender? You mean the historically bad offense? The pitching is great sure. Offense horrible.
  2. We have a very high asking price for Jeff and he doesn't move. No one gets moved. We add a secondary vet for the "stretch" run and tell everyone its part of the 3 year plan.
  3. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 15, 2015 -> 12:08 AM) No need to insult us. Yes it's only an exhibition game, but what makes the White Sox so special that they were the only team to ask (demand?) they not use one of their players? The last place, woeful White Sox. They truly are a laughingstock over this issue. I'm still waiting to see if Chris Sale takes the heat off the front office by saying he "didn't feel right" or something. That's all he needs to say and people like me have to shut up. Will he do that, though? How many teams didn't have a player compete in the game? I do not know the answer. Was it just the White Sox? At least Big Hurt was one of the commentators. Seriously though. Some of us have the right to be mad about Sale not pitching. I wonder when is the last time a White Sox did not appear in the game. Some franchises are proud to show off their best players; the Sox ask that the player not be used. I bet Yost got sick of dealing with Robin and just said, "Fine he won't f***ing pitch unless we need him in extra innings and there's no other option." If I was Sale and I wanted to pitch, I'd sure let the Sox beat writers know it wasn't my call. Hopefully Sale will call out those who made this call or shut me up by saying he hasn't felt 100 percent right lately. He could even say he's had a bug or something. That shuts Greg up. I find it funny that my 11 year old son, who adores Chris Sale, took the news that he wasn't pitching better than most adults in here.
  4. QUOTE (La Marr Hoyt HOF @ Jul 14, 2015 -> 10:03 PM) Whatever dude. Only team in MLB not represented tonight. Nice work Sox. Its a f***ing scrimmage game with sponsors. Really people need to get a grip. OMG We won the scrimmage game without Sale.
  5. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 14, 2015 -> 06:00 PM) Congrats to you guys who don't want a Sox player in the game. Unfricking-believable to me. I remember as a kid going crazy in happiness when a Sox player entered the game, especially if it was a pitcher facing a Cub or vice versa. Crazy many of you were freaking out about one inning. Sale should never have clogged up a roster spot. He pitched on Saturday! Horrors he might go an inning on Tuesday. More arm chair tough guy s*** from people who barely played the game past the age of 12.
  6. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 14, 2015 -> 08:23 PM) I want to know how many pitchers available tonight pitched on Saturday. Probably half or more. What a fricking joke. White Sox are very very disappointing organization. If Sale truly is mad there should be some articles in the Trib on this! First you get upset at beards. Now you are upset that our number 1 pitcher isn't pitching in an exhibition game. You get upset at the oddest things.
  7. QUOTE (Dunt @ Jul 13, 2015 -> 01:33 PM) I know a lot of people are a hard pass on Bruce, but this might be a good time to strike on him. His stock seems to be down and the Reds are not interested in paying any of his remaining salary. When I look at him versus our current RF situation, Bruce has a better ISO, BB%, better wOBA, and much better defensive defensive metrics than Avi. I realize he is a strikeout machine, but this team is in desparate need of power/offense and improving their holes on defense. If a package might be able to be centered around Avi and a prospect, I think this is something that the Sox should look at. This is a rebuilding team. That sounds like a KW move. I would rather spend my dollars in the infield and behind the plate than on getting rid of Avi at the moment. Bruce is an upgrade but I dont want to use anything of value for an OF at this point. Especially NL outfielders.
  8. I like attacking the zone as much as the next person but that was a pretty meaty pitch on 0-2.
  9. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jul 12, 2015 -> 01:34 PM) Sox have a hard time scoring for Q this game not looking good already. The sox have a hard time scoring in general. We win when our pitching gives up 3 or less. The margin for error with this offense is zero.
  10. QUOTE (Mike F. @ Jul 11, 2015 -> 04:56 PM) Would you guys pinch hit for Sale here? How much alcohol have I had. Because if I answer yes I am legally drunk.
  11. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 11, 2015 -> 04:56 PM) That's cool you are an announcer. I don't mean to insult you by saying you are no Hawk Harrelson. Just cause he is the best IMO. Listen, you say Hawk is a homer. Please answer this for me. Has Hawk ever criticized the White Sox or their players? (Yes is the correct answer). Does he do that often? (yes is the answer). Do announcers of other teams dare criticize their own players?? Gosh no! Unless they are in the Hall of Fame like Scully and Matthews. Please be honest with me. --- Tyler baby gets into one! Tyler is NOT worthless, folks. He's average. Great rally off Lester! You are kidding right?
  12. Wrigley is funny. A flyball gets a roar like it's onto Waveland. The fans have hawks depth perception.
  13. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 11, 2015 -> 04:41 PM) You are speaking like somebody who has announced games before. These guys need to kill time and have stuff to talk about. If all you do is praise Sale then you become one of the homer hacks who broadcast for all the other teams. Stoney was talking about Minnie beating Detroit last night; Hawk was talking about another game just now. Let's face it. We're spoiled with having great announcers on the south side. Listen to other teams except for Scully and they suck. Hawk knows announcing. /unsubscribe
  14. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 11, 2015 -> 04:16 PM) He should. He's one of the stars of MLB who won today, pitched against us recently, is a former Sox great and basically is one of the top starters in baseball still. I am sure if Toronto offered Buerhle for Sale you would do that in a heartbeat.
  15. No Ozzie. We have been there and have done that. Find someone outside of the organization that isn't a nepotism hire due to tenure of being a player for the sox. No matter how good you remember the player being or how smart you thought they were is not going to make them qualified for the job. Robin Ventura is one of my favorite baseball players ever. However I didnt think he was right for the job. No managing experience and learning on the job. No ex-sox players for hitting coaches. No ex-sox players for any management position. Just because you have their jersey doesn't make them qualified for the position. Evaluate this like a business and hire based on best candidate. Not based on some memory you had as a child for your hero.
  16. Well this makes me just want to plunk down money to watch this or any team. http://chicago.suntimes.com/baseball/7/71/...ank-beers-games
  17. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jun 17, 2015 -> 04:14 PM) My dream owner is Cuban. MLB won't let it happen. How many of the star power owners would move the team in a second to seal a larger profit margin.
  18. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 8, 2015 -> 01:10 PM) McDaniel's final mock has Sox taking Fulmer over Jay Tate or Fulmer would make me happy. The only reason we select Jay over either of them is #rotationofallofthelefties
  19. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 21, 2015 -> 09:46 PM) Anaheim flat out out schemed the Hawks tonight. @MarkLazerus "Vermette and Teravainen are fine. Q wanted "fresh legs." This pushed Shaw to center as well. Stupid move.
  20. Hopefully Q can put his pets back out to pasture again and bring Tevu and company back.
  21. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 21, 2015 -> 09:24 PM) The power play is horrendous. Its amazing with the talent that they have how difficult the power play is. They have hard times getting into the zone. Then sit out and take long shots without good net presence. They get one shot and then they have to regroup. They need to hire or bring someone in that can help architect this. Make him a specialist or a bench coach. Who cares but this s*** kills them when goals are precious.
  22. QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 21, 2015 -> 08:52 PM) That goal way too easy for the Ducks. Our defense and the goalie left that wide wide open.
  23. Well we are playing our division. Its where loses for us come in bunches. This Indians team is crap there is no reason they should come in here and take 3 out of 4. But I never would of thought the twins would of swept us as well.
