  1. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 18, 2012 -> 10:57 PM) They won't come if there aren't jobs for them. Free health care and education and government aid. You open up the doors and everyone will be here. It's better than where they are.
  2. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jun 18, 2012 -> 10:44 PM) It is not sustainable forever, but it is sustainable for now. Prior to 1924 you had to pay 50 cents and not be sick. With inflation that is no where near $500-$1,000 which would be a pretty reasonable sum to immigrate for. And sure perhaps in the future we will run out of space, America truly wont have room. But that is not today, and until that day it is my belief we let everyone who wants It's not sustainable. What makes the undocumented worker attractive to business is the lack of benefits and the lack of a real wage. Are we going to give them a minimum wage? So let's add a few million Pakistan/Indian skilled workers. How do you think that is going to play with American citizens and their job seeing status. Maybe we bring 10 to 15 million refugees from Africa. So what jobs are they getting again.
  3. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jun 18, 2012 -> 10:23 PM) Do you think its fair that some of your family arbitrarily were let in, while others were left behind? Dont you think it would have been more fair if they all could have had the same opportunity? Well if they did a few tours in Vietnam Like my father, then sure. But maybe he would of been better of buying a shovel instead of being n that s***hole.
  4. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jun 18, 2012 -> 10:23 PM) They arent. I want to change the law so your family can come here to if they would like. And had any of your family come here illegally, I would have supported their right to a better life as well. So what you want is complete open borders, no limits. So how exactly does that work with a limited resource set. Because other countries, with work permits don't plant 11 million foreign workers plus indefinitely. It's not sustainable.
  5. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jun 18, 2012 -> 08:12 PM) Andrew Carnegie, immigrant. What makes you think that immigrants wont make up lower, middle and upper class. US history is filled with immigrant success stories. http://images.businessweek.com/ss/09/08/08...mmigrants/1.htm I am an immigrant. Legal mind you. My parents never took assistance, worked multiple jobs and pushed education. We lived within our means. Now my relatives would of loved to come here as well. But they played by the rules. So I have no compassion for those who decided to violate the rules to get here. How are they more important than my family, who are equally as poor.
  6. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 18, 2012 -> 09:21 PM) Sorry you are not upset about whatever clown decided to give this game away. Well one thing would be certain. If the previous clown and his band of twitter fiends were still here going through the motions you would get butt hurt at anyone questioning his odd genius. Then make a reference to 2005.
  7. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jun 18, 2012 -> 09:17 PM) Don't blame me! We've been playing terrible for weeks. Hopefully this game will spark a team meeting or something. Maybe they can hire that motivational speaker guy with the tophat from the movie the natural.
  8. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 18, 2012 -> 09:15 PM) Forgive me for being so mad I could punch the wall. I feel we CONCEDED tonight's game against a fellow Chicago team in OUR PARK by pitching Zach. God I'm mad. I would suggest therapy.
  9. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Jun 18, 2012 -> 09:11 PM) LOL at Hawk talking about hitting a 100mph fastball. Gravity and how it applies differently to high pitches and or low pitches. Lol
  10. Someone needs to explain what a loogy is to the rookie manager.
  11. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 18, 2012 -> 08:59 PM) He was obviously throwing at DeJesus to get payback for Paulie. NEVER FORGET! I am sure when spellcheck pitches against us he will plunk one of ours.
  12. QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 18, 2012 -> 08:40 PM) It's abundantly obvious to me that he has potential as an MLB pitcher. A sinking fastball north of 90 is a big weapon. Let him try to find it as a starting pitcher consistently, for the Charlotte Knights. He does our organization far more good than just about anyone else in that rotation down there. Is he better than the last sinker baller with similar stuff that we picked up from new York in the swisher trade.
  13. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 18, 2012 -> 08:39 PM) Yes. What we should really do is go after Youkilis. That description doesn't apply to him at all. Trust me. Don't want that.
  14. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 18, 2012 -> 08:36 PM) Hudson just stands there! Kenny and the garbage picking approach to roster management. x player was great 7 years ago and is or might be designated for assignment.
  15. I love when we bring old players based on some odd belief that they can reverse time and suddenly become their former self. We should start scouting the newark bears.
  16. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jun 18, 2012 -> 08:22 PM) Please disregard my previous POST. Now Stewart has given up two 2-run homers On the other side Garza is pitching like a Cy Young wannabe and driving up his trade value at our expense Bet Detroit is in on him.
  17. Well maybe someone should teach Kenny what sinker all pitchers look like. We keep on getting the guys who give up long long fly balls.
  18. That sinker is really working. Just gave up a dong to the Mensa all star.
  19. CB Buckner really has this umpiring thing down. Can't call balls or strikes. Can't figure out if the tag before the base gets touched is an out.
  20. QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 18, 2012 -> 08:05 PM) Stewart's outing is already better than anything we've gotten from Humber-Floyd in the past month or two That's like saying Danny wright was better than Felux Diaz.
  21. QUOTE (Baron @ Jun 18, 2012 -> 07:47 PM) Hey but some people on here would rather roll with this garbage pitching than give up any of our wonderful prospects. Do you really think we are a pitcher away from printing playoff tickets.
  22. QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 18, 2012 -> 07:32 PM) Sinkerballers as starters = sexy sinkerballers as relievers = no bueno He had this pattern last year. Pitch good against horrid teams, then get rocked by everyone else.
  23. Another player overhyped by Hawk because he gets hits against us.
