What does Krazy "Rebuilding" Kenny do next?
southsideirish71 replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Kenny's rebuilding is going to be the following. Attaching tradable chips to boat anchors hoping someone takes them. Asking ridiculous returns for players. Then saying f*** it. Lets go for it. ALL IN 2.0 -

Here is Kenny zeroing in on his offseason strategy. -
Over/Under: $6 Million. Sox' spending on the next MLB draft
southsideirish71 replied to thxfrthmmrs's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Dec 20, 2011 -> 05:48 PM) That's a good point. But the new CBA is trying to guide the teams to allocate a certain amount of money on the draft. The bonus pool as of now ranges from $4.5 mil to $11.5 mil, it will change before the draft, depending on the number of picks a teams has. But teams can still spend less than or over the limit of the range, with a penalty. Teams can still go over slot in latter rounds to sign a player, mostly likely if they are still within the bonus pool. I don't think the Sox would spend $3 mil again in the next draft, I am wondering how much are they willing to spend on the draft to rebuild. Well how about actually doing something in the international signing period besides watching other teams invest in it. What will we spend. The minimum required to field a draft. They will throw a decent slot offer to the 1st rounder. After that its slim pickings. Don't think about high school guys. More Jared Mitchell clones. -
2011-12 White Sox off season catch all thread

QUOTE (sunofgold @ Dec 19, 2011 -> 10:19 PM) If I was KW, I would just hold pretty much right now. Unless you get a deal that you cannot pass up. Team salary has been shaved a lot recently .... no more Teahen, EJax, Buehrle, Pierre, Santos, Vizquel. The AL Central is weak right now except for the Tigers. And who knows what they will be like next year. They ended the season pretty banged up. Al Al is going to be out at least half the season. Not impressed with the Royals, Indians, or Twins rosters right now. Seriously, we can compete in this weak division with the team that we have now. If guys like Beckham, Peavy, Rios and Dunn can rebound from last year, we will be looking good. Morel, DeAza, Flowers, Viciedo, Reed, Molina give us some promising young players. How did that plan work out last year. -

If we have our real QB and our real RB in there. We win this game in convincing fashion. We have the replacement players out there, and we have to deal with the Tim Tebow cock suck fest. -

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Dec 11, 2011 -> 06:08 PM) I'm pretty close to hitting the mute button. I am shocked that they can get audible sounds out with Tebows junk shoved so far down their throats. Now Barber decides to put the cherry on his performance. -

I don't think Kenny is going to do well rebuilding. He has tunnel vision. He sees something he wants and pays whatever to get it. On the other hand he feels that other GMs will do the same. He will leave the meetings tomorrow saying that we don't have to give our players away. Then in a few weeks he will make another token trade for payroll sake, then put a bow on the offseason. His next plan will be to wait until the trading deadline. We will pick up crap for Danks. Marketing will spin the offseason on the rebirth of Dunn, etc.

KW and SOX fans are to blame for this mess..
southsideirish71 replied to SOXOBAMA's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 10:05 PM) I am willing to bet our attendence suck in 08, when we went to the playoffs. We averaged 30k a game that year. This was after that disastrous 2007 season. You might want to pass some of that blame to the team who decided to take the first couple of months off the last 2 years to start the season. -
QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 10:01 AM) I am still pretty high on Stewart as well, he was a rookie this season and took some bullets, but I think he will be fine overall. He was lights out at times and just has to develop more consistency. When I read Molinas scouting report it makes me think of a Greg Maddux type of guy (not saying he is Greg Maddux), not a guy with overpowering stuff, but a guy that beats you by controlling the plate through pitch location. I hate when people use Greg Maddux as an example for control pitchers. I know you tempered it with "he isn't Greg Maddux". An example of a control pitcher is John Tudor or Brad Radke. Greg Maddux is in a league of his own. Sure he had command and control, but everything he threw moved and moved all over the f***ing place. Thats what made Greg Maddux the pitcher he was. It was a two seamer that moved like crazy that he could command and paint the outside corner. It was unhittable. Not picking on you particularly, its an over used example of when we get a pitcher who has control as their main weapon. A Greg Maddux type guy is a control pitcher who has crazy crazy crazy movement.

PFB was just on the radio talking about how sox fans should of come out in droves based on the fact that we started out 3-2. LOL How winning 72 games a year is better than a rebuild.
-
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 04:19 PM) No, that's no good. He's unproven and not worthy. You don't see other teams (Braves with Kimbrel, Brewers with Axford) handing over closer duties to guys with no track record of ML success. One thing is for sure, guys from the minors can never close and win games of importance. Never happens.
-
QUOTE (beck72 @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 04:10 PM) If Kenny isn't moving Floyd or Danks, then this isn't a rebuild. If he's hanging onto them-at least until July-then the sox will still have a chance to compete for 2012 Well if you are going to move Danks now is the time. He will have more value at this point with a year left. With a month and a half left in the season, we are getting crap on a stick for him. We had a 79 win team. If the Royals get a few pitchers that puts 3 teams ahead of the sox. This team as constructed is not going to win the AL Central. So saying f*** it, and going all in again is another guarantee of a large payroll and another 79 to 82 win season. Just fire Kenny if thats the case.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 04:03 PM) Now that Ventura has been mentioned a few times, I actually wonder what his take is. If he had any influence on this? Seems to make sense that Kenny would bring in a manager to grow with a rebuilding team... The hiring of Ventura was the first tip off that this is a rebuild. Managers of Ventura's green nature are not brought in to launch a championship run this year. They are brought in to grow and to learn.

I love the people getting all hot and bothered over losing a closer. Remember the large fat guy who threw 100 and was untouchable. A few years later everyone wanted him run out of town. Only a few closers have long shelf lives. And for all of those who base their opinion on Keith Law and his ramblings. LMAO So put down your XBOXs and stop cursing Kenny because he didn't realize that the Dunn + Rios for Montero and others wasn't going to happen. You need to trade value to get something of value. Remember your outrage when the next chip falls. This is what a rebuild looks like.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 10:17 AM) Well this is a fair point--does the GOP control FNC, or does FNC hold considerable sway over the GOP? Either way, though, 'lean' right is a bit soft of a description of their bias. And leaning left is a bit soft on the description of the bias of MSNBC. The only news network that thinks that MSNBC has any right wing tendencies is RT.

QUOTE (flavum @ Dec 5, 2011 -> 08:22 PM) Kenny is there. Thanks for showing up 24 hours late. I figure the following will occur. He will go into this trying to ask for the world. In the end he only moves Quentin for a MLB ready c prospect and declares victory. He checks his magic dice and decides one last round of all in by nature of keeping the same team. The man doesn't have the stomach to rebuild. It's the tinker and pray approach. Buehrle goes to another team. And if anything we sign a reliever to round out the pen.

QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Dec 5, 2011 -> 08:04 PM) The Cardinals barely made it to the playoffs, got hot and won it all. The Sox had the talent to do something similar. It just didn't pan out. I see what you're saying, but still it could have been done. The Cardinals won 90 games in the regular season. We won 79. It's not even in the same ballpark. -

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 4, 2011 -> 02:14 PM) Oh my goodness gracious. I would make this my new sig. But I don't want to part with my current one. This is just horrible. Let's invite Jermaine Dye. Hell I wonder what group 4 is doing these days. -
QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Dec 3, 2011 -> 10:22 PM) Why was this character never the full blown, costumed mascot? Black and silver, a real animal, and perfectly personified the White Sox fanbase in the 1990s/early 2000's as a lone wolf in a sea of Cubdom. f*** Southpaw. This has always bugged me. Also, so much complaining on the boards lately. The mascot was designed for children not for you. Southpaw is liked by kids and that is his targeted audience. If you want to see what has been designed for you, check out the young girls throwing tee shirts between innings.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 30, 2011 -> 12:39 PM) Knowing Kenny, he's going to deal John Danks for some formerly heralded offensive player who is 24-25 and some overrated reliever, and try to win now assuming Sale can step into the rotation. Here are the possibilities 1.) We trade Danks for a limited upside but major league ready minor league guy. Think AAAA. 2.) We trade Danks for high upside lower in the minors that have a high up ceiling. 3.) We trade Danks + a boat anchor and get crap in back. We use future savings as our win. 4.) We trade Danks and get some sort of major leaguer back. Nothing earth shattering. Just a win now move. I would prefer option 2. My guess is that Kenny would love to use option 3, 1, or 4 in that order with Danks.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Nov 23, 2011 -> 09:22 PM) video at the link So this is what happens when the unemployed basement dwellers get angry, they become the virtual jerky boys. I wonder if their mommy's and daddy's would get upset if people cranked their houses and sent pizza's to them. There are ways that this gets dealt with, acting like an ass is not one of them. The occupy movement is so trying to be the 60's protestors. Except they are going through the motions. And this so called internet group is trying to hack the gibson, yet their weapon is a google search and online record repositories. Sad.
