Bears are on the clock. Sorry next after the chargers. -
QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 25, 2012 -> 07:43 PM) I think I'd go with Thornton, followed by Crain. These newcomers can't close. They are going to blow WAY too many. Let the veterans do it until they prove they also can't. When you are a .500ish type team, you can't have these closing problems. Just can't. It's hard enough to get in position to win games. Poor Robin. The unreliable bullpen continues. But in answer to your question. I'd go thornton, then crain after Thornton proves he can't. I wouldn't be upset if it were Crain, then Thornton though. GIVE IT TO A VETERAN! So like in 2005 they should of gave it to someone else besides Jenks.

QUOTE (Marty34 @ Apr 25, 2012 -> 07:27 PM) Per Mark Gonzalez, Ventura stands by Santiago as his closer. About the 10th bown save maybe he will waver a bit.

QUOTE (Jake @ Apr 25, 2012 -> 06:38 PM) With the way some of you armchair manage, I have to wonder how many posters here have played competitive baseball. I don't know what competitive baseball you played but giving up runs in droves is the way to the bench in college. -

QUOTE (Jake @ Apr 25, 2012 -> 06:36 PM) I will lose respect for Robin if Santiago is the one player he decides to knee jerk out of his role. There's an argument to be made about whether he should have started there, but he saved 4 in a row and you can't pull players just like that. It'll ruin the clubhouse. You know what will ruin a clubhouse, having your closer give up home runs all of the time. -

QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Apr 25, 2012 -> 06:07 PM) The whitesox better be having base running and bunting lessons all weekend long, I can't watch a game like this again it pisses me off too much. We had all spring training to teach them this. Some of these guys have been our property in the minors for enough instruction time. The whitesox however treat instruction in the minors for position players like its a foreign concept. -

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 25, 2012 -> 06:06 PM) Yeah, that was a perfect relay throw, tough play. Sending him was a good call, Oakland just executed to perfection Well one run would of been across the plate if our bench players didn't imitate 8 year old pinto baseball. -

QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Apr 25, 2012 -> 06:01 PM) I love these gamethreads. If you didn't know any better, you'd never believe the best players in the history of the game failed 65% of the time. I doubt if many of them get caught napping off second by the catcher. -

QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 25, 2012 -> 05:45 PM) Not many do. They are paid by the club to be homers. Really and what exactly is Hawk. If you think he isnt one of the biggest homers in all of baseball, I suggest changing whatever you are drinking because its getting a bit strong. -

God do we even go over how to make contact at all in minors. Its amazing how poor our hitters are on just putting the bat on the ball. -

QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 24, 2012 -> 11:35 PM) s***ty game. Worthless at bats. Lousy baseball. Losing a zero zero game in the 8th is disappointing, however it's not lousy baseball. -

Oakland, the land of odd noises at a game. Random horns, kazoo's, chants, yells, And of course the noise of the well chucked battery. -
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 23, 2012 -> 10:02 PM) Heaven forbid Crawford make a stop. We get this goaltender dyn duo back next year.

Th hawks pp is terrible. 5 on 5 they are in the yotes zone. They get a man advantage and they can't get the puck past the blue line.

Congrats Phil, awesome game. Glad I chose to ignore work in the yard and watch the game. -
Well hopefully Shannahan gets rid of Torres for a 10 games or so. He probably gets a 50 dollar fine.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Apr 17, 2012 -> 09:35 PM) "as clean of a hit as you'll get" "I don't have a problem with this" moron I wonder if they would think the same thing if Carcillo was healthy and took out Dolan.

Another hawk gets tripped right in front of the ref. nothing.

So the Formula for fun bad is here. We have a young bullpen that has no margin of error. A pitching staff overall that has to be perfect. And an offense that has no clue but one guy. The o needs to figure it out. Too much pressure on pitching staff. -

QUOTE (Cali @ Apr 16, 2012 -> 10:47 PM) Robin can bring all the attitude adjustments to the clubhouse in the world, but it can't make up for the fact that this roster has some abysmal black holes and players not fit for a major league roster. Just hope Floyd and Peavy and Thornton can pitch their way to some awesome prospects and that Kenny can actually make a deal that acquires them haha Right now GMs all over should be trying to locate C level prospects who either have a sinker, or that are athletic. Maybe a great 40 time. Promote a few to AAA, and tell Kenny he can't have them. He always gets his man. -
