White Sox vs Rockies First Pitch 2:10 CT

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 04:55 PM) This lineup has produced more runs this series than the lineup with the captain and Q starting. And that's why vizquel and Pierre will be up top of the lineup tomorrow. -

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 04:48 PM) Can someone give me one good reason that the hitting coach for a lineup that features more OPS's under .640 than I can ever remember still has a job? You have to understand the differences in coaches. Guys like Cooper find flaws in pitching mechanics and help players for the most part get better. Hitting coaches however don't have such luck. Hitters come to the majors as finished products. They often show videos off when the hit well so they can go to their happy place like Happy Gilmore. -

Must be a good movie on the flight. We keep generating quick outs. -

Our reporters will be too busy falling over themselves to get quotes about how he hates wrigley and how the rats in the tunnels frighten him. -

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 04:39 PM) Of course not a single reporter will ask Ozzie, after the game, why the f*** he rolled out one of the worst lineups in Sox history. His answer. What game were you watching. JP stole 3rd. He was on base, he was making things happen. This was a very exciting game for me. Our guys need rest, all at the same time. -

3.19 era in June. 85 runs given up. 92 runs scored for the offense in the month. So basically we face our pitching staff every single night. -

Down by 2. Stealing 3rd helps that magical 1 run turn into 2. -

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 04:23 PM) If it were up to Ozzie, he'd get a 3 year extension and a statue on the CF concourse afterward. Thank God he and Konerko don't play the same position. -

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 04:16 PM) Double switch for Pierre please? He makes things happen. You can't have an offense without that disruptor up top. -

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 04:08 PM) We might be able to squeeze out one more run on offense. That should be exciting. Well NL 2.0 designed this abortion of a lineup today he knew what he was doing. Amazingly everyone needs rest but the patron saint of slappy. -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 04:01 PM) Oh great, just what we need, a bump into Peavy by Dunn. Hey look at the upside, Dunn made contact. -

QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 03:52 PM) oh so its ozzies fault dunn sucks because he cant motivate him? please. It's no ones fault. Maybe someone forgot to let the goat in the building. -
QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 12:18 AM) We are getting terrible production from our lead off spot. Viceido is not gonna solve that problem unless we put him in Dunn's spot. If we replace Pierre with Viceido, who is gonna lead off for us? Alexei? Lillibridge? Rios? We can just easily swap Pierre with Milledge and try to address the lead off spot issue. I like Viceido, but we can't put him in LF unless we can find a passable lead off option from another position. Also, I am not completely sure on this, but Milledge's defense in any of the outfield spots has got to be better than what Viceido has to offer. The guy who hits first is only guaranteed to leadoff once a game. In the AL it's best to have a good obp in front of yhope boppers. We need to score runs. The slappy NL crap is why we have a hell of a time scoring runs. Konerko needs protection more than guillen needs a Jerry Owens clone up top.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 29, 2011 -> 11:12 AM) Unfortunately I don't have an answer, but i think it would start by sending him down to AAA and let him trying to figure things out and having success. His swing is awful and clearly adjustments have to be made and part of those is just being confident and I don't think that will happen at the major league level. I hope I'm wrong. I have little faith in our ability to fix hitters at any stop in our system. We promoted Brian Anderson with a monstrous swing. We promoted Danks who was striking out at 33% clip in AA. I believe we take beckham and place him in another organization and he is a good hitter. He came up and hit for extended periods of time. His swing has gotten worse not better. And it's not like he is dismissing our hitting coach. They hunt together in the offseason. So it's not like he is Swisher.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 29, 2011 -> 07:50 AM) But who would you be leading off? Ramirez, one of our better RBI guys? Alex THE LOAF Rios? Lillibridge? Mark The Human Statue Teahen? It's also on KW to give Ozzie a legit leadoff hitter. How many years since 2005 has he succeeded in doing this? He even drafted Mitchell and Walker, but they're miles away, too. Listen Kenny has made numerous mistakes IMO. But do you really think that Kenny thought leadoff hitter when Wise made the roster. I blame Kenny for not Ozzie-proofing the lineup more. Pierre and the slappy NL style leadoff hitter is something Ozzie wants and Kenny gave him. They are equally culpable.

QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Jun 29, 2011 -> 01:04 AM) Someone made the mistake of giving this guy a nice contract based on potential instead of what's on the field. Maybe the scouts were wrong. Talent is there. That is without question. Will, maybe not so much. Now here is the riddle. Who is more in error. The man who gives him the contract, or the man who assumes it knowing this is lurking in the background.

QUOTE (knightni @ Jun 29, 2011 -> 12:58 AM) You score less than 4 runs in every game, you're going to lose a lot of games. 3 or less in 49% of our games.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 29, 2011 -> 12:44 AM) So it's official. Rios is pulling this s*** in Chicago now. This will not bode well. Alex Rios, you do not loaf in Chicago getting paid the kind of jack you are getting paid. White Sox fans, sir, will run you out of town. True Southsiders EARN their paychecks and the Sox core 20,000 fans are hard working SOUTHSIDERS!! Ozzie said it's not the first time it's happened. So Alex Rios is dogging it and loafing for a paycheck. Great. Get rid of the bum, no hyperbole here. There are facts now to support these type of simple statements!!!!! The alarming part of this is guys don't pull this s*** on teams that have a good clubhouse and a chance to win anything. He's pulling it and his teammates are letting him get away with it. This does not bode well for our clubhouse and our desire to win. If Paulie, Quentin, AJ, even Mark Buehrle, et. all aren't reading Rios the riot act over his behavior, it certainly explains our lack of passion in winning close baseball games. MY GOSH THIS RIOS STORY PISSES ME OFF!! Lack of effort for his paycheck is appalling to me. Really. This is your final straw. Get a grip. And stop with the absolutes. You must of missed Rios the Toronto Blue Jay if this is the first time you have seen this before. Oh the outrage, the humanity.
