  1. QUOTE (Wanne @ Jul 20, 2011 -> 10:03 PM) They might as well trade Danks...seems like the offense goes into complete crap down their pantleg mode every time he pitches. Blow the whole thing up for all I care. Pathetic. He must pitch every game because our offense pisses down their pantleg quite a bit. We are scoring 3 runs or less what about 50% of the time.
  2. Well our rotten offense once again snatches defeat from the jaws of victory. When one faces a Bruce Chen and you give up 1 run over 9 innings you win that game 99.99999% of the time.
  3. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 19, 2011 -> 09:50 PM) The Sox only sweep all season was at Boston (go figure), unless you also count the two game mini-sweep against Cleveland as one as well. Either way, such a thing makes it really tough on a team, especially when they start the season as crappy as the Sox did. The good news is the team still has one of the better records in the AL since early to mid May. But even in this division, it'll be hard to rally into first place (or, for that matter, above .500) if sweeps don't become more frequent. And our offense in particular makes picking up sweeps very difficult. Thats because they are programed to believe that sweeps are unnecessary. f*** it we won the series, we did our job. Next. No killer instinct. They are on a year long journey always believing that there is plenty of time to win it. Then when they get mathmatically eliminated, they just say well onto next year. Next. That and our brutal little league like offense that cant hit the crapiest pitchers.
  4. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jul 19, 2011 -> 09:50 PM) Then go ahead and laugh, and take part in 4 pages of threads speculating on ridiculous rumors that make no sense. I mean everyone has their own way of enjoying baseball. The Sox team is flawed in terms of offense, but I think they have the best pitching staff. Im not just going to throw away a season less than 5 games back in a weak division. Im not going to just assume Cleveland will beat them or any of the other stuff. It may happen, but until then Ill believe that the Sox have a chance. In reality the Sox could be winning more games with some simple fixes, its just a question of whether the GM/Manager are submarining the team at this point. Because some one has to be trying to lose here. Sure they have a chance. So does the twins, the tigers, and the indians. I believe we have the best pitching, we however have one of the worst offenses in the AL. And in the end the game is to outscore your opponent. I haven't seen one thing to say that this is getting fixed anytime soon. Until our offense gets its head out of its ass its hard to say we can make a run to win this division. And we have a mountain of evidence over the course of a season that is proving this.
  5. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 19, 2011 -> 09:43 PM) The Sox are who they are. These games against KC prove it. Sox can't even hit pitchers off a AAA team, which the Royals are. First in Chicago, now here. What a joke. Sell Kenny, sell now. He isnt selling. I would say that he would burn the entire farm trying to pick up a big name vet to push all in before he sells off. He didnt move a lot of players in our down seasons, he wont this year. He is gambler Kenny and is always all in. I wouldnt get too attached to whatever is left in the system because he is probably about to burn it down to push his chips in.
  6. QUOTE (mataipaepae @ Jul 19, 2011 -> 12:55 PM) Pittsburgh is actually a team I've thoughts we could trade with. Last night on baseball tonight they said Pittsburgh would be looking to use some of their young talent to get some help to make a second half push. so here is what I have come up with Pittsburgh gets; OF Carlos Quinton - a big bat they need need in the middle of their line up SP Edwin Jackson - a #2 or 3 for their rotation 3B Brent Morel - a young guy they can have. We get; 3B Pedro Alvarez - they have some competition already there. Their GM said that the spot wouldn't be just handed to him. So now might be the time to get him. He has a good glove, big bat, and huge arm. CF Gorkys Hernandez - a speedster with a great glove. Is batting. 300 in AAA. And. 340 the last month. Is more for next year. Has good base stealing potential Then have them name 3 untouchables from their Was and lower teams and then let us choose 2 prospects. This way viciedo gets called up. We get a legit 3B guy now, and we got CFer for next year Kenny doesn't value young players. He would rather burn down the entire farm to get Beltran as a rental and some reliever over picking up kids.
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 19, 2011 -> 09:41 PM) Our 16 million dollar pitcher has now lost 3 straight games to Paulino, Swarzak and Duffy The 16 million dollar pitcher did enough to beat this team. The craptacular offense who can't score runs cost us another game. We can't win games consistently in the AL with 2 run efforts all the time.
  8. QUOTE (kwolf68 @ Jul 19, 2011 -> 09:33 PM) Kenny is on dope if he thinks adding a righty RP is the final piece to this puzzle. Especially when he trades Viciedo for a reliever. There is no reason that he isnt up. The fact that he isnt up, tells me that he is going going gone.
  9. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Jul 10, 2011 -> 03:08 PM) why overwork Ohman here? They have three off days correct? Maybe Ozzie is treating this like 2012 Marlins tryouts.
  10. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 10, 2011 -> 02:58 PM) hawk salivating over Dayan's stats. Where would he play.
  11. If for whatever reason a white sox player actually finds his way on base the opposing pitcher should not panic, just use the Nick Blackburn approach. Throw first pitch fastball, the junk in the dirt. They will get themselves out.
  12. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 10, 2011 -> 02:45 PM) We can't even get it right in a loaded draft with a top #10 pick. But you have a point, were he on just about any other team he'd be Pedroia. I think we got it right. I think if we had an organizational approach in development and our organization didn't believe hitters are finished products he might be better off.
  13. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 10, 2011 -> 02:41 PM) Does Gordon have one offensive tool? Can't hit for average or power (even for a 2B). Is not fast. He just doesn't do anything well. Well he used to hit. Then our patented approach of simplify and destroy did the rest.
  14. QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 10, 2011 -> 02:36 PM) Hey we still have 1 hit Rios "And what f***er just doubled our hit total.. This guy."
  15. Hi my name is Alex Rios. Cutoff men are for p*****s.
  16. It's bad enough listening to foghorn, but foghorn sucking off the twins every f***ing day is irritating.
  17. I wouldn't be shocked if the gambler pushed all his chips in and traded Viciedo for a vet. Forget logic, we have people who have jobs on the line. We are passed the service date I believe. So why is he still down there. He is at max value right now. I hope I am very wrong, but something just doesn't add up here.
  18. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Jul 8, 2011 -> 11:30 PM) This guy is all over the press when things are going well. I'd like a state of the union after this week. For some reason Cowley or Oney come to mind when I read this thread.
  19. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 8, 2011 -> 09:20 AM) I vow not go to any more games this year if not a single person in management is fired over the ASB and/or Viciedo is not brought up in the next 10 days, I took my son last night because he won some free tickets. Boring game. First sox game of the year for me. Might take my son to another game if I get a free ticket. But thats about it.
  20. Here is a ripe steaming pile of s***e title for a article. Really, With the abortion of our offense one decent week and we are slowing the call.
  21. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 02:07 PM) Yes it was someone on the Twins. Someone here is using the quote as their sig. My Sig.
  22. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 5, 2011 -> 10:28 PM) Turned on Rongey just now for the first time in a couple weeks. I'll go back to not listening. Same old crap. Ozzie is tweeting about Rongey doing a good job. You just lost a game and you are f***ing tweeting.
  23. QUOTE (kapzk @ Jul 5, 2011 -> 10:25 PM) The jury is still out on Peavy, since he isn't expected to be 100% normal until 2012. We have seen some flashes where his velocity was great like in the relief apperance and the CG SO. But other wise its been pretty poor stuff wise. Just a 90-91 mph 2 seamer with an average biting slider Yes peavy gave up 5 rubs. Sometimes however in the American league you need to score runs. Not every game is a qs.
