  1. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Aug 1, 2011 -> 09:38 PM) Alex Rios has a .383 OPS in July. Well he was benched for 2 game by dusty before he remember de Aza is a rookie and then needed to rectify that.
  2. Another Fine performance by the Chicago Mariners. Good pitching, and a horrible offense.
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 1, 2011 -> 09:36 PM) The thing that baffles me is that if Kenny thought this team was close enough not to sell off players, why the heck didn't he try to get a piece or two to help this offense? I'm not talking superstar addition, but at least someone who can maybe hit the ball out of a Little League park. He allowed the manager to override him on Viciedo for most of the summer.n
  4. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Aug 1, 2011 -> 09:25 PM) Another night of 3 runs or less in the summer in a so called hitters park. Since MLB started testing for roids offense has been on a steady decline league wide. 54 times this year.
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 1, 2011 -> 09:25 PM) I know he's injured, but it's comical to think that Ozzie used to think there was no room for Viciedo on this roster. Matter is to anti-matter as logic is to Ozzie.
  6. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 1, 2011 -> 09:21 PM) I wonder how many White Sox bunts this year have actually lead to scoring runs that would not have been scored without bunting. Unfortunately there really is zero way to know. Don't worry if it's recorded as a stat somewhere Ozzie would ignore it. His gut and years of architecting out generation are greater than any fact.
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 1, 2011 -> 09:11 PM) It's sad how Ozzieball and Hawk has poisoned some of our fans into thinking a home run is a bad thing. Line drive hitters are not bad things, however you expect line drive doubles hitters to drive it into the gaps quite a bit. Not just make outs or hit singles only.
  8. QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Aug 1, 2011 -> 07:30 PM) Kenny was all set to blow up this disaster of a roster, but then the boys go on an 8-4 push out of the break. Convinced the team is finally going to turn it around, KW dumps a bit of payroll and leaves the team intact. What a f@cking mess. In 2007 we went on this little mini-run at the end of the year when draft position probably meant more than the record.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 1, 2011 -> 08:35 PM) What the f*** needs to happen for our manager to get fired? The Latin Jackie Mason could brick on the mound in front of the entire stadium during a pitching change and all would be smiles. Cowley would write an article about how refreshing Ozzie's antics are and how bricking is taking heat off of the team.
  10. Well 8 pitches for the offense to get through the inning. That's efficiency.
  11. Well let's put it this way.what would the Guillens reaction be if this was reversed, and Teahen made the same comments about Ibis. Me thinks they might stroke out a bit.
  12. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 1, 2011 -> 06:03 PM) He's 47 years old. I'd take him 13 more years. We need a new GM and this GM must make moves and give Ozzie the players to work with. Take no further input from Ozzie. I say ditch tthem both. Let guillen and his genetic material grace south beach with their class and moxy. Turn the GM job over to Hahn and get a manager who has a plan.
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 1, 2011 -> 06:50 PM) Yeah if Teahen fired the first shots as it appears, then he gets what he deserves. I can't stand Oney as much as the next guy, but you can't expect a guy to say nothing when you get called out like that. Did Teahen's wife get what she deserved?
  14. We have become the Seattle Mairiners. Great pitching attached an abortion of an offense.
  15. A s***ty offense doing what s***ty offenses do. Striking out looking with men on.
  16. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jul 31, 2011 -> 02:28 PM) Well I think Morel will keep getting more at bats because Teahen is gone now. Sure against tough lefties when they spell Vizquel.
  17. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jul 31, 2011 -> 02:25 PM) What is this winning baseball, Im confused. Don't worry the young players that caused this will be replaced tomorrow as vizquel and company need their AB's.
  18. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jul 31, 2011 -> 02:03 PM) I dont care if Humber got hit hard or not, the reason the Sox lost yesterday was Humber only getting through 4 and having to rely on the pen way to early against a talented Red Sox line up. Im not complaining, Humber has been great and hell get better. But lits the truth. Well you know scoring 2 runs also might have something to do with it.
  19. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jul 31, 2011 -> 01:49 PM) You guys sure have a lot of love for a team with a negative run differential and a team that has 12 come back wins in the 9th at home. If the Sox were in the West or East theyd have no shot, in the Central theres a chance a 500 team wins the division. Sorry some of us are a bit skeptical of a team that can't score runs making a run. If all of a sudden they all as a group remove their heads from their rectums and start to hit like an AL team then I might change my tune. Oakland and Seattle has had some stellar pitching and crappy hitting over the last few years. Guess what happens. Crappy hitting over the course of a season kills the team.
  20. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jul 31, 2011 -> 01:42 PM) I dont know why fans dont show, I can only read what people on this message board say. 90% of people complain that the Sox arent winning. So if you are rebuilding and losing 90 games a season, how many of those fans will show? I go to the game for entertainment, so id still show up, but it gets lonely when there are only 10k fans there, and thats been with teams who were considered contenders. /shrugs Easy to sit on the sidelines and complain. Well I figured I could drop 2 bills on taking my family to a Red sox series that is already jacked up by dynamic pricing plans or I could put this towards something of value.
  21. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Jul 31, 2011 -> 01:42 PM) It does not matter if they come to the park. The Sox have guaranteed revenue streams that would net them somewhere between $40M-$50M if they went to a $60M-$70M payroll. Are you taking your talents to South Beach when Oney's dad is sent packing.
  22. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jul 31, 2011 -> 01:37 PM) Sox fans wont come to the park during a rebuild, ownership knows this and thats why you most likely wont ever see the Sox do a complete rebuild. Well they are coming to the park in droves right now. A rotten offense kills a team. We have scored 3 or less in 53 out of 105 games this year.
  23. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Jul 30, 2011 -> 11:18 PM) So you thought they should have held on to Jackson? I don't think we have the offense to win the division. I am afraid that Kenny will trade something of value from our farm to make up for his monetary issues. I would of traded Quentin and Thornton by now.
  24. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Jul 30, 2011 -> 11:14 PM) Jackson was gone after this year. They shed his salary, got Teahen's contract off the books, picked up a good reliever and got a starting prospect. Now they're looking for a starting pitcher they can control for more than just the next few months. Makes sense to me. Well how exactly do we get a pitcher that we can control for a few years without giving up something of value. Ithis is a sellers market right now.
