  1. There is a better way. How about we leave the tax cuts for those who affect the economy. The small business owner who will get boned if Dems try to repeal Bushes tax cuts. Lets penalize those who make a buck, because its the democratic way. Capitalism and not socialism is the better way.
  2. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jan 31, 2006 -> 09:14 PM) The congresswoman who invited her is a real winner in her own right. One of those left coast radicals who advocates a "department of peace". LOL! Make she can meet with Chirac and work towards the French model with the Department of Surrender.
  3. Cindy Sheehan is so off the map, she wants to run against Diane Finestein who is as liberal as hell, because she first supported the war. When you are too liberal for the California branch of the democratic party, you need to check your sanity at the door. The goof who invited her needs to get her invite privileges taken away. Did she really think that Cindy would behave. I am glad that Cindy was stupid enough to try and open that banner ahead of time, if she was a bit more with it she would of waited to pull her attention grabing scheme during the address. They should just issue a restraining order and keep her away.
  4. QUOTE(rbloom03 @ Jan 30, 2006 -> 08:19 AM) And I'd rather be in line with "creepy" or "geeky" adults than giggling, annoying young girls who make it seem like all female baseball fans are only fans because the players are "hot." I saw a few girls with the Scotty Too Hotty Shirts or Mrs. Pods shirts, granted they were between the ages of 14-15, oddly no guys came up with the great idea of Mr. Dergan
  5. I had one of Brandon's minor league cards. He flipped the thing a few times like he never saw it before. He asked me where did I get it, and then signed it for me.
  6. The only person I ran into at Soxfest was Mike(SS2K5) and family in the Brandon McCarthy line. The place was jammed packed. My son didnt get to go because he was sick, so my brother-in-law came instead. He had a hi tech camera with a good zoom lenz. I will be posting the pics he had from soxfest once he emails them to me. Brian Anderson is a funny guy. He was making cracks with everyone. The Widgenator was cool also. Real laid back. BMac needs to eat some more.
  7. Yup, its like you can see the train coming down the tracks. This is going to get real ugly before it gets better. First the Iranian nut, and now this. This is what they ran on. Good lord.
  8. QUOTE(BHAMBARONS @ Jan 28, 2006 -> 09:58 PM) I need to conduct a nationwide poll for my research paper, and I figures this is the best way to get it done. I also need to use some reply's so if you give your first name and state would be greatly welcomed. Please try and keep it civil Thanks Tom I believe in the death penalty. I believe its a way to take the monsters from society and remove them from ever being able to hurt again. Tom, Illinois
  9. QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Jan 27, 2006 -> 04:49 PM) http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/4652940.stm Good to see a politician asking to take a pay cut and then enacting it for the benefit of the country. He can now afford to cut his money with his new free trade program for coca growers. Good news for Coke users though, with the new flood of product to hit the market the price should drop a bit per kilo.
  10. Gee I wonder what their army is going to do? Here we go
  11. When your hair inspires Nancy to play the theme song from the "Greatest American Hero", you take the risk, go to supercuts and drop some coin on the 8 dollar high and tight.
  12. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jan 27, 2006 -> 08:44 PM) In the 2nd half of 2005, Everett had splits of .228/.305/.386. Taking that into consideration, I don't think he could come close to producing what he did in 2005 for 2006. I believe Anderson will definitely produce what Rowand did in 2006, remember Rowand only had 13 HR's in 2005. Thome should outproduce Everett if he remains healthy. Remember if we kept Frank for the DH and kept Rowand, I'd say there's a much greater risk with Frank trying to come back from his injury, when he's never had a good season coming back from one before. Not to mention, we'd be much weaker against RHP without Thome as well. And also Everett was so poor in September that a few weeks before the playoffs while still fighting for our spot we were playing musical 3 hole chairs. Konerko then Dye at the very end of the year. Why did we do this? Because Everett who was our 3 hole hitter wasnt producing and our offense went cold again.
  13. Around Christmas time I was at the walmart on 75th in Darien walking around with my wife and son, and this fat guy decked out in head to toe sox gear nearing trampled my son so he could get in line at the jewelry section. I guess he was looking that 3 carat ring for the mrs. I remember the moron because last year at about the same time, he shoved his way through a line at the Best Buy over near my house. Decked out in head to toe cubs gear. Bandwagonners are part of the success story. Everyone wants to be part of a winner. Especially with how bad Chicago sports is overall. Rude people will be rude no matter what team they support. As long as they conduct themselves decent, dont perform any "lets get famous" stunts that get us another spotlight on all the news channels, spend lots of money(so we can afford more FA next year), then I am cool with it.
  14. KW was on the score. He said when he was a player he found out he was traded by hearing it from their SS at the time Ozzie Guillen. He didnt like the way he heard things and made a point of making sure they heard the news from him first. He said he called Frank but never received a call back.
  15. This came from the resident Plushie. I pictured Eric Cartman playing Lamb with Juggernaut. This was in the Reliving High School thread.
  16. QUOTE(2nd_city_saint787 @ Jan 26, 2006 -> 07:38 PM) I hope this doesnt end up like neal cotts, yes im happy that cotts is a top reliever in the game but wasnt he going to be a starter??? Even if BMac is great in the pen i sure hope they dont keep him there. Bmac has control of 4 pitches that he can throw for strikes. Cotts has 2 pitches, and up until last year had a real hard time controlling them for strikes. Bmac has shown command and control of more than 2 pitches. He has a great changeup and is a bulldog out there. Neal up until last year had a hard time finding the strikezone. His stuff was always there, his control wasnt. In the bullpen he can get away with 2 good pitches and facing batters maybe once. In the bullpen he doesnt have a long time to overthink, Coop calls down to the pen, Cave gets Cotts up. In a few minutes he can be in the game.
  17. QUOTE(TLAK @ Jan 26, 2006 -> 07:53 PM) I’m disappointed he didn’t ask him why it’s so F’ing smart to trade the most productive two way CF in the American League and two very hard to find LH pitching prospects for a $13 million 35 year old slugger who hit 7 homeruns in a season limited to 59 games due to injury, while letting go a $0.5 million 37 year old slugger who hit 12 homeruns in 34 games a injury season. Fixed it for you.
  18. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Jan 26, 2006 -> 01:30 PM) Give it to Crede. He's more deserving. Besides, that C will add a couple of 0's to his next contract. Did Crede hire you as his publicist?
  19. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jan 26, 2006 -> 02:05 PM) And if one of them goes down? Are we going to carry 6 pitchers next year in case someone goes down. We picked up Vasquez for a reason this year, and that was not to have 6 SP. Its a position of strength for trades, but it isnt the reason why we picked him up. If you can get something of great value for Contreras who pitched one great half and had a few medicore years I say go for it. Milledge in CF Anderson in LF Sweeney in RF Owens as the 4th OF And we are set for a few years in the OF.
  20. Actually what this dolt forgets is that a lot of people joined the military after some group slammed planes into buildings killing innocent people who were not part of the war machine, but were just going to work and such. I am sure he bought his flag and acted like a patriot because it was the cool thing to do. Now of course being anti war is the cool thing. Being antiwar is one thing, being anti solider is another. Before they went to Iraq our warriors went to the country that supported this terror, toppled those who aided and assisted this attack and then sent Osama into hiding. You can question the government, that is your right as a democracy. But for those who question the brave men and women who protect this country, I can only say that you look foolish and stupid. Just as the so called peace activists who spit at our soliders who came home from Vietnam. What a disgrace. This article makes good toliet paper and that is about it. This article is a disgrace to those who have payed the ultimate price in that name of our country.
  21. Well Mr Stein should go back to working for Martha Stewart instead of writing a trash piece like this.
  22. Finally scientific proof that my future midlife crisis is justified. Wait till I tell the wife.
  23. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Jan 25, 2006 -> 11:32 PM) The only thing I can figure is that our buddy Dayn Perry thinks that Podsednik (Dayn HATES Podsednik) and Dye will regress, while Anderson will struggle as a rookie, and Thome may not stay healthy. On paper, our offense is better. A healthy Thome is a MASSIVE upgrade over Everett and I think that Anderson will be able to put up 2005 Rowand numbers. Mackowiak off the bench will help as well. Most of the SABR crowds hate Pods as he uses speed as a primary weapon. His stealing attempts in their eyes are possible wasted outs. Pods had a hernia most of the second half of last year, or he would of broke 70 SB in a heartbeat. Rowand didnt exactly light up the offensive numbers. Instead of Timo going to the dish we will have Mack. Huge upgrade there. If Dye and Konerko can start a bit better in April and May we will be fine.
  24. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jan 25, 2006 -> 11:28 PM) http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/5274502 Regression? Come on man, the White Sox offense was awful for most of last season, I dont think there is much possiblity of regression. This just proves that Dayne either doesnt research worth a damn, or is making things up. Our offense was great in the playoffs. It was dismal for most of the year. Our pitching and our defense is why we won 99 games in the regular season. August was brtual, and in September we played experiment with the 3 hole. Thome vs Everett come on Dayne even you can figure this out.
