  1. Everyone needs to chill out and remember last year. The whitesox were linked to just about every FA out there. Its the KW smoke screen, the flying under the radar. Remember at Soxfest, Kenny was acting like he didnt know this Iguchi fella. We will know when the move is made, but the White Sox will be linked with every single FA until the move is made.
  2. "The man was 69, he wasn't going to live forever," a woman said. This comment shows no remorse or compassion for the victim of a violent crime. I wonder if she would say the same thing if someone viciously beat and murdered her father or grandfather. I was sickened by watching this in the morning.
  3. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 10, 2005 -> 09:30 AM) Good thought, but I'd be afraid we'd be seriously downgrading on defense. Uribe is foreign to 3B so he'd struggle at least a little, so 3B loses some D. Crede is a great defender but is also foreign to 1B, so while he'll increase the range there, I'd be he'll make quite a few more errors. And then you get a mystery guy at SS, where Uribe is one of the better defenders in the league. Downgrades defensively all around. In 2004 Uribe played some 3rd and did a real good job. He definately has the arm and the no fear aspect. I figure the mystery guy is Gonzales or Furcal which either of them are on par with Uribe to say the least. A lot of 3rd base prospects/vets make the move to 1st without too much of a learning curve. The main issue is working with the footwork over at 1st base.
  4. To appease the Rally Crede crowd. How about moving Jolting Joe to 1st base(He has the glove and I am sure can learn the position), DH Kong, and then do the Uribe switch to 3rd base and the mystery SS can take his place.
  5. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Nov 10, 2005 -> 09:11 AM) Trading Crede would be the worst move ever. If that happened, expect me to rip KW's ass at Soxfest despite the World Championship. Hell I would go crazy if we traded Crede. This better not even come up in discussion. Will you feel the same way if he is cracks the bat at a .240 clip at around July of next year. He is the most hot and cold hitter on our team. When he is hot he is great, but then when he goes cold you might as well send a cardboard cutout of Joe up to hit for him. Thank god for us his hot period was during the playoffs.
  6. This couple should be covered in blood and then thrown in a tank with sharks. Just when you think that people have reached a new level of sickness. terrible story
  7. Adam Sandler Moviepalooza From the Waterboy Bobby Boucher: "Well I like school... and I like football... and I'm gonna keep doin' 'em both because they make me feel good. [slams door, then comes back] Bobby Boucher: And by the way, Mama... alligators are ornery because of their medulla oblongata. [slams door, then comes back] Bobby Boucher: And I like Vicki and she likes me back. And she showed me her boobies and I like them too." From Billy Madison Principal: Mr. Madison, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul. Billy Madison: Okay, a simple no would've done just fine. Billy Madison: Sometimes I feel like an idiot. But I am an idiot, so it kinda works out. Happy Gilmore Shooter: Your in big trouble though, pal. I eat pieces of s*** like you for breakfast. Happy: You eat pieces of s*** for breakfast? Shooter: NO! Happy: Hey, if I saw myself in clothes like those I'd have to kick my own ass Shooter: Just stay out of my way or you'll pay, listen to what I say. Happy: How about I just go eat some hay. I could make things out of clay, and lay by the bay, I just may. What d'ya say Happy: Hold on a second babe. Happy's Girlfriend: Yeah? Happy: Your not going for good are ya honey. Happy's Girlfriend: You're going no where, Happy, and you're taking me with you. All you ever talk about is being a pro hockey player, but there's a problem: you're not any good! Happy: I AM GOOD! You know what? You're a lousy kindergarten teacher! I've seen those finger paintings you bring home AND THEY SUCK! Big Daddy Julian - Layla, if you don't come over to Sonny's apartment tonight there's a good chance I might develop a stutter. Puh-puh-puh-please don't do this to me. Vanessa: (talking of her senior citizen boyfriend) He has a five year plan. Sonny Koufax: What is it? "Don't die"? Sonny Koufax: The kid just won't quit peeing and throwing up. He's like a cocker spaniel
  8. QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Nov 9, 2005 -> 10:10 AM) does anyone else feel that 4/52 is shockingly (almost insultingly) low in terms of years/total money Its part of the process. No one goes in and says here is the max deal for the first offer. I remember people getting worked up(I was one of them) over KW low balling Iguchi and how he wasnt going to play here and we would have Harris playing 2nd again. It all worked out. We will make fair offers to our guys, but only a fool would give the max offer as the starting point.
  9. QUOTE(Mercy! @ Nov 8, 2005 -> 12:09 PM) Darn funny story on so many levels, worthy of lots of witty comments. Thanks to the two or three of you who came up with some. As for the rest of youse guys – too predictable. So when will you be posting your drivers license pics? Or better yet – there’s got to be at least a couple of us around here who’d appreciate some full frontal shots so we could make a more appropriate evaluation. Hot diggity! When penthouse has the full frontal pics, I will be more than happy to let you know.
  10. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Nov 8, 2005 -> 04:45 PM) This equation is backwards. Actually this formula is proven as fact in most bar pickups. The time factor in the formula should be. First pic is at 9pm, then after lots of beer, they turn into 2nd set of pics. Penthouse wants them to pose naked.
  11. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Nov 7, 2005 -> 03:48 PM) We had some of the same things happen with Cingular. Not quite that drastic, but similiar things. And their service is HORRIBLE - dropped calls ALL of the time. I dropped at least two calls per day. I have Sprint PCS which works great, the data service is fast and provides great content. Then of course my company forces all of their IT staff to use only Cingular phones. Now my useless Cingular phone gets only one bar of signal in my house. Most of the calls only go to voicemail, which also never notifies you when you get a message. I wind up calling people back on my home phone or my sprint phone which is useless because most of the calls I get when I am on call are out of country and last for hours on end. Cingular sucks. I am still trying to convince my company to let me use my Sprint phone and bill it back. It also would be a hell of a lot cheaper considering my Cingular service with data costs more than the combined service from Sprint my wife and I share. No logic here.
  12. 27 October: Teenagers Zyed Benna and Bouna Traore are electrocuted after climbing into an electrical sub-station in the Paris suburb of Clichy-sous-Bois, in what locals say was an attempt to hide from police. The police deny this, but news of their deaths triggers riots in the area which is home to large African and Arab communities. Arsonists destroy 15 vehicles. If you climb into an electrical substation there is a good chance you might get electrocuted. Then after said fools bake themselves the neighborhood riots. This is the same mentality that sue the McDonalds for the coffee being hot when they spill hot coffee in their laps.
  13. QUOTE(YASNY @ Nov 5, 2005 -> 07:21 AM) I like how he assumed we wouldn't be able to sign Konerko. Yet, he assumed that Cleveland would be able to sign Millwood. To be honest, I'd think our chances of signing PK are better than the Tribe's chances of signing Millwood. You hit this right on the head. How many teams can afford Konerko and have this as a position of need. How many teams need pitching and are willing to overspend on it. Which player has Bora$$$ as their agent. Bora$$$ is looking for a max deal. AJ Burnett is nice, however if I was looking to invest in a pitcher it would be Washburn or Millwood.
  14. Happy Birthday Madison. Congrats to the Southsiders. In a short while you will look down and have no clue how you got along without her.
  15. Its sad to see the end of the Ben Davis era in WhiteSox baseball.
  16. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 10:59 PM) My Dad was checked everytime he was in an airport in Phoenix, put simply because he wasn't an American. When it happened to me, I couldn't care less really, because they're just doing their jobs. But about the 5th time my Dad was checked, and they forced him to open his new Guitar and they broke his sunnies, well let's just say he wasn't too happy at all. Also, during the 9/11 anniversary this year, when my parents were in New York, they flew in, and they said security wasn't very tight at all, not compared to airports like Sky Harbor and LAX. I get searched everytime I go through Skyharbor for ST or LaGuardia for work. Its was a running joke that we needed to get to LaGuardia at least an hour extra because I needed to get my bags and everything searched.
  17. QUOTE(agame @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 04:51 PM) Does anyone think PK cares about his stats in the long run? Because if he does, he would put up better numbers staying here. Could that factor in to his decision? He already won a WS, he is not going to the HOF, so stats are cute and all, but gobs and gobs of money usually win out. I am sure that when he hits 38 homers and hits 275 in LAA he will fret, then about a millisecond later he realizes that Moreno gave him enough money to buy a small island in the pacific. Then all is better
  18. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 04:39 PM) Frank is Healthy ok, I said it. Now what? Lets take a look at Frank healthy and then playing 1st. That lasts exactly 15 seconds in the first game, until ball is hit to his right or left forcing him to move or god forbid "dive" for the ball. The next day is Frank Thomas has been added to the 15 day DL with discomfort in his foot.
  19. QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 04:25 PM) They have like $80 million committed to Beltran, Pedro, Glavine, Benson, Floyd, and Cameron. No way in hell they can afford Paulie unless they move one of them or their GM/owner is an absolute moron that has nothing better to do with money. They gave up Scott Kazmir for Victor Zambrano. Dont overestimate the stupidty of the new york mets. They will be freeing up their money from a certain catcher who wants to become a DH and extend his playing time. They have the money. Piazza made 16 mill this year.
  20. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 12:58 PM) If Konerko signs elsewhere, my prediction is that Jim Thome will be our starting first baseman with the Phillies picking up a lot of his contract. Thome would DH, unless Frank was back.
  21. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 12:26 PM) There's tremendous opportunities for a LOT of this stuff. I've had some ideas, but no network to get them off the ground. That's my single biggest problem with anything, and most people's problem when starting a business. Meanwhile, software compliance for S-O is indeed important. Maybe we should seriously chat more offline. I keep hearing rumblings that S-O is eventually going to apply to private companies.
  22. A pair of D-cup breasts weighs between 15 and 23 pounds—the equivalent of carrying around two small turkeys. LMAO@this description This thread is so asking for pics..... They should redo this study and use the victoria secret models as test subjects.
