Zack Wheeler: To the Phils (5yr 118); Sox had made BIGGER offer
I want Stras or Cole. I dont see it however. I would be shocked if the sox go to 5 years for any pitcher more or less anything longer. I think 4 years is their sweet spot for pitchers. I think its going to be the years probably that will nix them from having a final seat the the table for these pitchers. And to be honest, there is zero reason fiscally that they cant win. I just done see JR having the stomach for long term expensive deals on pitchers.

Then you are getting none of the top end talent for pitching.

Then enjoy trotting out Cole Hamels as one of your starters in the playoffs vs the Yanks or Astros. That will end well. They need to get Cole, Stras, or Wheeler. Not option C, D or E.

Then we are destined to lose in our pursuits of pitching talent. The sox are not a team that feels comfortable doing long term pitching contracts.

The whitesox are less desirable based on the fact that long term deals for pitchers is not what this organization does. My guess is our deal is incentive based and has team options that create the illusion of future dollars. I don't see us winning a bidding war with multiple teams. We are trying to sell a story and don't just use the dollar and our financial flexibility to just get this done.

Cole Hamels to the Braves, 1 year $18 Million.
Worst scenario is the Twins getting more pitching. Missing out on Cole and Stras while Wheeler goes to Minny would be a miserable fail.

I am sure that Wheelers agent is sweating the Hamels comp.

JR people will come to see him. They went to Wrigley to see him. And get this. He is in line with our cost projections. I say we sign him and get some lightning in the bottle. We can then go all in on Cole and show him that our incentive based plan with deferred payments and team options is more sensible than up front cash. Think of all the taxes we can save him when we pay him less.

We have a massive amount of financial flexibility. It has to be Cole, Strasburg or Wheeler. I don't want to see option C or D unless its to augment what we know to be getting a primary ToR pitcher.

When was the last time coop fixed anyone. Are we sending Hamels to Gio's high school coach to fix him.

Well Hamels to the White Sox would be right up Kenny's playbook. Lets get aging vet who used to be good on the twilight of his career for some lightning in the bottle.

David Blough has better touch on his passes than our 2nd overall pick who cant hit open receivers.

WHITE SOX SIGN Grandal 4/$73, Palka DFAd
Timmy and Robert then Moncada at the 3 hole, Abreu 4th, Eloy 5th, We will need to keep Renteria's bunt sign in the garbage can where it belongs. Madrigal at the 9 hole hitter.

Collins to RF? That sounds absolutely horrid from a defense perspective. The video game mentality of X player can just be moved to X position doesnt work in the real world. My guess is they move Collins.

Omar Vizquel will not return to managing in white sox system in 2020
I could care less if the was the heir apparent. We have major leaguers who cant catch a baseball. He should of been up here working with them ala Ron Washington. Whomever is working with Tim Anderson needs to be shown the door.

We don't develop in the minors.

Bring him up to the MLB team and let him work with Anderson and the young players. Nope. Lets get rid of him so we can have more of our patented white sox who think the leather thing on their hand is to keep their hand warm and to swat at the round objects being hit at them.

Trade Candidates: Hitters
Did you watch the Astro's this year.

Trade Candidates: Hitters
You are the only person on the planet who thinks this.

Would you trade for Mookie Betts, and what would you trade
The difference was that the A's employed Ron Washington who worked with Semien and focused on his defensive craft. He is doing the same thing with the Braves young players. Whomever is doing this for the whitesox is failing. Its sad really. Through the rebuild phase we should of focused on defense as one of the aspects of fundamental baseball. Tim Anderson should of been an absolute priority.

His ball moves from right to left. He needs to start that ball further to the right and its good.

Sox issue qualifying offer to Abreu
You are a fan of a few players who are on the sox or who have played on the sox. You are barely a fan of the team. At least we know where you stand.

Cole or Strasburg?
I would rank them Cole, Stras, and then Wheeler. You have to come away with one of these guys. I don't care how many JR dollars it takes. He has saved enough money over the last few years. Time to spend.
