  1. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 08:09 PM) If we score 9 runs in a game in a playoff series, I'll probably be in a good mood. Well the difference is our hitters wont be facing the worst pitching the league in the playoffs. Our pitchers have to pitch their best games in the playoffs for our team to have a chance. If they take the series off and do the kind of s*** we have seen lately, its one and done in the playoffs.
  2. I seriously hope that our big 3 pitching gets their heads out of their f***ing asses before we hit the end of this year. Imagine this s*** in a playoff series.
  3. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 07:30 PM) .261 .314 .450 Those are Sizemore's numbers with the bases empty. THat means he has a tough time getting things going for his team, which to me is a big thing as a leadoff/get on base hitter. This reminds me of another game thread and the comparisons of Santana vs Buerhle.
  4. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 07:19 PM) Good work Konerko...first hit of the series...shot the ball to right field. Very nice
  5. Hopefully our guys remember to hit it up the middle and the other way with Camp, not go back into corpseball mode. A touch of the other way and a touch of power made a nice inning.
  6. QUOTE(JimH @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 07:00 PM) You keep stating it, I'll keep stating it too. Oddly, that's the way it works on a message board. You're on here enough, you ought to know that. Sorry that you can't handle it if someone disagrees with you. 6-3 White Sox, let's keep it going and knock another game off the magic number. I will resist your attempts to bait me into an fight.
  7. QUOTE(JimH @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 06:54 PM) THEY ARE NOT TRYING TO PULL EVERY PITCH, NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES YOU SAY IT. end of rant Oddly you cannot just agree to disagree. We have been down this road before and it goes nowhere.
  8. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 06:53 PM) Hey Paul, what happened to hitting the ball to right field? Remember? LAST WEEK??? His agent called and told him about how many teams would be interested in a 40 homer guy. After the call ended so did going to right.
  9. 2 pitch pitcher hitting 84 on the gun. They should put a 8 spot up on this guy.
  10. Jose Valentin is batting, oh wait its our other switch hitter who is being funny against a lefty.
  11. DOINK off the Foul Pole. The sox hitters finally realized that JP Howell has a over 6 ERA because he sucks. Sorry Hawk he does suck and suck bad.
  12. Crede should kill this guy. His bat speed is perfect for this guy.
  13. JP Howell has a 1.58 WHIP and a 6.63 ERA. Yet Hawk is about to name him to the allstar team because the pull happy corpseball kids are trying to park every pitch. Here is a clue Hawk, anyone that can spot a fastball away on this team can f***ing own them. It has been this way for 2 or more years. PULL BASEBALL SON!!!!!!!!!!
  14. Raise your hand if you are sick and f***ing tired of Hawk and DJ jacking off to JP Howell. His f***ing ERA is over 6, obviously someone has hit him and scored many runs against him. The corpseball kids are trying to park every pitch.
  15. QUOTE(beck72 @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 03:22 PM) IMO, you still let the veteran pitcher try and work out the kinks. S olong as he's healthy, chances are he'll correct himself. The postseason is the key. The sox still have to get there. But success in the playoffs is what the sox are looking for. Having a big game pitcher, who has thrived under those extreme pressure situations, and throwing him under the bus, without giving him every chance to succeed [though I think the sox are getting close to exhausting their patience w/ him] isn't wise. The sox don't have a roster loaded w/ players with such important playoff experience where they can toss aside a guy like El Duque. I love Bmac. But seriously, will he do better playing in front of a packed house on the road? It's hard to see. el duque will be needed by the sox Here is the real question. If Saturday we were playing the Indians instead of weak hitting Minny, would you go to battle with El Duque or Bmac. Whom do you have confidence in to give you an opp to compete.
  16. QUOTE(Wong & Owens @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 03:33 PM) I thought that guy was an atheist? What the hell is the Universal Life Church? This is from his website. I dont get it. The so called atheist is a Rev. 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals LOL The most reversed court in America.
  17. Great the Rev. Douche Newdow is back at it again. He first tried to use his kid, then he tried to use someone elses kid. This guy needs a new hobby. Maybe he can tackle the e plurbius enum as the next act because not everyone speaks latin. The Rev. Douche
  18. QUOTE(beck72 @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 02:07 PM) I think Ozzie trying to get El Duque on track is a good thing. No doubt he's scuffling. But this late in the yr, with the postseason right around the corner, why start a big uproar sticking El Duque in the pen behind a rookie. Everyone knows Orlando will be in the pen come the playoffs. As long as he can keep the sox in some games, and not get lit up each time out, throwing him out there isn't the worst thing in the world. [the flip side--the sox put bmac out there, he gets lit up and the pen gets used up] Ozzie has stuck with the veteran hitters during slumps. Sometimes veteran pitchers should be given some leeway as well. IMO, this is one of those times. Now, if the sox had a 2 game lead....that's different. Put the best guy out there regardless Lets look over what he has done since the Allstar break. El Duque is 2-6 with a 5.34 ERA post allstar break. Is this a slump, or is this a body of work over a period of time. in the month of september he has a 1-1 record with a 7.56ERA. The trend is getting worse not better. Back on track is one thing. These are Jason Grilli/Felix Diaz/Danny Wright numbers we are talking about though. The 5th starter black hole last year remember. We have a 6 game lead, not a 15 game lead. We havent won a thing yet. You put your horses out to win the division first then you worry about peoples feelings later. If we were so worried about feelings, Shingo would be still closing and Billy Koch would of never been traded. We are talking about an old pitcher who has a history of arm problems. In all those years he did well in the playoffs he didnt limp into them. You sit El Duque and you go with the hot hand.
  19. QUOTE(YASNY @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 11:21 AM) Wasn't Canada colonized by the French? Just asking. Figures, now I know where they got their military tactics from. If it wasnt for the US being between Mexico and Canada, the cannucks would be speaking spanish right now. French Military history
  20. This is the part of the quote that bothers me. "Right now El Duque should be the man because I feel that I let that man down when I took him out,'' Guillen said." He gave up 3 homers and almost a 4th if it were not for Arow taking one away in the first inning. If you see any pitcher getting shelled like this you get the bullpen up and if he continues to get hit and give up runs you get him out of there. Its hard for me to understand why you let El Duque get shelled and then say after you took him out, well I let him down. Come one now.
  21. Duque to get 1 more shot vs. Twins ''[Hernandez] has brought me all the way to here to this point,'' Guillen said. ''I have a lot of confidence in El Duque. He had one bad outing. We're going to stay the same way, but in the next couple of days, we could change our mind when we see how El Duque feels.'' 'Right now El Duque should be the man because I feel that I let that man down when I took him out,'' Guillen said. ''I feel like people think that I just took him out because everybody wants McCarthy pitching. Well, I do, too. Everybody wants this kid to pitch. But when a guy has pitched for you all year long, I don't think it's fair for him to be treated like this.
  22. This is the break we have been waiting for. Get a couple of guys with guns and we can take over and make it our 51st state.
  23. The magic number goes down. Keep on feasting on the s*** known as the Royals and their pitching and defense.
