  1. Hopefully the offense we have seen in the first game of this series, the tigers series, and the texas series isnt a fluke and we are going into August s***hole again.
  2. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Sep 8, 2005 -> 08:24 PM) There is nothing in baseball worst than the leadoff walk. I think gettting worked over by the worst pitching staff in the majors for a 2 hitter is worse.
  3. Can one of our lefties for the love of god throw a strike to a lefty hitter.
  4. No outs 1st and 3rd. Walking the leadoff guy, thanks.
  5. We are getting 2 hit by the worst pitching staff in the bigs. 30th in the MLB in ERA. Teams hit .290 against the Royals. f***ing sad.
  6. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 8, 2005 -> 07:59 PM) Ozzie hasn't pinch hit for a catcher all year and I can't say I blame him...when you're carrying only 1 backup catcher there's reason to be careful with those guys...what happens if you pinch hit for him and then AJ gets hurt or tossed out of the game? We have casanova and he is a catcher. We can pinch hit someone.
  7. Its nice to see one of the worst pitching staffs in baseball shutting our team down, no hitting them for a good part of this game. But hey its another bad pitcher we can tip our hats to for having a great game. We make more bad pitchers look like Cy Young than any other team. 2 f***ing hits, you have got to be kidding me.
  8. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Sep 8, 2005 -> 01:58 PM) When I looked outside the clouds had dropped to about the top of MWL......that level at least just east of the power plant. It looked more ragged than anything but I must have missed it dropping down. Then it looked like a hurricane out there. What is it with this county and the messed up storms? Didnt you watch twister before you went to iowa?
  9. Here is a close up of Damaso after he warmed up in the bullpen the other night.
  10. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 8, 2005 -> 10:53 AM) If that were the case, then why are the Republicans working overtime to prevent any sort of a bipartisan investigation into the disaster? The Republicans have already rejected calls for an independent, 9/11 commission style investigation into the disaster...that commission if you'll remember, was composed of an equal number of Democrats and Republicans and had subpoena power distributed evenly across the commission. Instead, the Republicans want it done only in Congress, where the Republicans have a full majority and therefore they will be the only ones with subpoena power...if the Democrats want to subpoena a witness, they will be unable to do so without the consent of the Republicans on the committee, while the Republicans can do anything they want and decide who they want to investigate without even consulting the Democrats. So I must ask the question...what is it that they are hiding? The secret weather making device that created Katrina and steered it into the Democratic city. Its all a plan by the evil Republicans to take over the world. Thanks for the conspiracy theory. I haven't had one of those since the last election.
  11. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Sep 8, 2005 -> 10:55 AM) Yeah, I plan on just riding around the city, definatley with a helmet. I dont even think I will partake in any highway riding, but who knows. Speed doesnt scare me that much, but I guess we will find out. I AM planning on buying a crotch rocket though, just like them better IMO. Crotch rockets are fun as hell. They have so much power, I had a 929RR that was fast as hell. This was my last bike, which I owned for about a year.
  12. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Sep 8, 2005 -> 10:44 AM) I don't know. I agree about most, but I have seen more than my fair share of crotch rocket guys doing REALLY stupid things. Things that would qualify them for Dawin Awards. I hate the crotch rocket guys with that mentality. I have seen some stupid things with people on bikes also. The wacky weaving on the highways. The extreme riding crap where they pop wheelies and try to mimick certain movies about extreme riding. But oddly enough its not that stuff that gets motorcyclists killed. Its the stupid small accidents that usually are fender benders on the road for a car that kill most people on a bike, and the lack of helmets. For the average car its some damage and a trip to the body shop. For a rider it usually ejects them from their bike and then they land without protection. My friends had a pretty good mentality about riding. If we wanted to try extreme stuff, we usually went out to a deserted rural road and did it there. Or we would go to the track and ride on there.
  13. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Sep 8, 2005 -> 09:59 AM) I have wanted to buy a bike for a long time. And with living in the city, and the gas prices what they are, I have settled on switching to a motorcycle for most of my travel purposes around my area. I was curious to know what everyone else is riding, and what experiences they can share. I am taking a beginners riding course in two weeks, I am definatley excited. If you do get one, remember to wear your protective equipment(helmet and leathers) and be very careful of nutty drivers. I have been around bikes my whole life and every accident I have seen has not been the fault of the motorcyclist but of drivers around them doing stupid things. I rode dirtbikes with my brothers since I can remember and bought a street bike when I turned 21. I rode everyday with my friends and used it as my primary transportation in the summer. I had a few bikes and rode it until I turned 30 when I watched a drunk driver plow into my brother who was riding next to me. It was the middle of an June Sunday at about 2pm and we were up on Higgins near schamburg riding with my friends. My brother went up on the hood of the truck and then flipped off as the truck slowed down. The driver then took off. Once my brother looked to be all right, I took off and got the license plate of the driver. He was arrested and convicted a while later. My brother suffers to this day with degenerative discs in his lower back. He is a late 20's police officer with the back of a 60 year old. The only thing that saved his life was that the truck hit him hard enough were he popped up on the hood. If it was a car he would of popped up higher and then would of been dead. I sold my bike the day after this happened and havent been on a bike since. Gas is expensive, but be very careful.
  14. QUOTE(LVSoxFan @ Sep 8, 2005 -> 08:45 AM) I actually went down to get laundry when he pulled Jenks. Why did he do that? Was Jenks struggling, or was Ozzie trying to "matchup" his pitcher to the hitter? BTW, WTF with Marte hitting two guys in a row?! The second after Ozzie was apparently chewing him out on the mound?! I don't think I've ever seen a manager do that (on the mound, that is). Jenks hit 100 with his first strike, then 99 on the second and the guy then recorded an out. Ozzies comes to get him, then puts in Marty Party who prompty s***s the bed. I have seen Ozzie chew out the Count on the mound a few times earlier this year like that. The difference is the count got better, Marty Party isnt.
  15. Everyone its all right. Spicoli is back from his Iran fact finding mission to save the day. He got his leaky boat and his camera crew and is here to save all of the remaining children. Spicoli to the rescue Boat looks a little full there Spicoli.
  16. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 10:46 PM) That's the thing, right now if these games meant something I'd go back home in a second to watch them play but I can't just miss class everyday to attend games, therefore like you said I'll be there once the playoffs start. I have went to over 20 games this year + ST. I can't afford to fork over the dough for anymore games outside of the hope of playoff tickets. Oddly my mortgage company doesnt really care about how Paul Konerko feels about playing in front of a packed crowd, they expect their money.
  17. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 10:35 PM) *Sigh* 7 game winning streak, highest mark we've been over .500 this year, best record in baseball again and all this crap starts again. The stupid thing about this is we are going to break an attendance record this year. The place has been packed night in and night out. Yet in one series against the worst team in baseball after Labor day the trib decides to jump on this, and our players instead of making nothing out of it, lend quotes that will be featured on the radio and ESPN like crazy. Its one freakin series. They will have plenty of people watching the angel series this weekend.
  18. Have fun with this... Oddly when they had packed houses in August and crapped out night after night they weren't offering refunds. People have come out to the park this year in droves. I think its not cool to call the fans out in the paper after people not showing up to see us sweep the worst team in baseball.
  19. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 10:09 PM) You follow those two rules and you got nothing to worry about (oh and no nudie pics). Jas, What about "nearly" nude. LOL How can we post the future Mrs. Posednick's pics without getting close. She barely has clothes on in most of the pics.
  20. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 09:00 PM) This says otherwise. 2002 vs lefties: .149 BAA, 0.82 WHIP. 2003 vs lefties: .168 BAA, 0.85 WHIP. 2004 VS lefties: .143 BAA, 0.86 WHIP Don't even try to fight me on this one, Qwerty. 2005, which is this year .270 BAA with a .385OBP against the ol lefties.
  21. QUOTE(qwerty @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 08:52 PM) I never recall marte being a lefty specialist. He was one of the rare lefties out of the pen that could get both lefties and righties out at a ridiculous rate. WAS He s***s the bed the minute a lefty comes in and crowd the plate.
