  1. This is literally from wikipedia... OOZ reflects the number of plays a fielder makes on balls that were hit outside his "zone". A player's "zone", for purposes of the definition, is considered those parts of the field in which on average a fielder is able to convert half of his chances into outs
  2. Neither should be penciled in for the long haul, bottom line.
  3. No thanks, dude had a .600 OPS outside of Coors last season.
  4. QUOTE (ptatc @ Feb 18, 2018 -> 12:31 PM) you think he'll get 3 more mil AAV than Hosmer? 21 vs. 18 Technically Hosmer's is $21/m per as well. Deal is $105/5 with an option for 3 more at a significant decrease in salary.
  5. I've been to WAY too many James Baldwin starts. There was that one year I saw like 3-4 Jon Rauch starts as well. I think I'm the reason Rauch never caught on as a starter.
  6. I'm glad they're just going ahead and hiring him. Rick deserved the shot and I don't wanna hear the garbage about Dave Martinez and Sandy Alomar for 3 months.
  7. QUOTE (Tony @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 02:57 PM) David Robertson, Miguel Gonzalez, James Shields, Justin Morneau, Melky Cabrera are all still here.......why? That's where I'm at. Add Lawrie and Frazier to the pile too. I get not finding the deal for Q or Sale, but this is too ridiculous.
  8. I don't think the training wheels have ever been taken off for the guy. That said, you either do that and give him full reign or bring someone in to take over the whole damn thing, someone hopefully established that'll bring in his own staff, manager, coaches, scouts, etc. Kenny and Robin shouldn't be employed at the end of the season. As long as that last part happens, I'm good to give the guy a shot.
  9. QUOTE (ptatc @ Jul 24, 2016 -> 02:32 PM) Because then the team will not have a World Series shot for 5-7 years with no proven top of the rotation pitcher. they need to keep one. Um.... so what happens in 3 years when they're still nowhere near a world series and won't give either $25+ million a year? No offense dude but that sounds like Kenny Williams.
  10. I look forward to my morning drives listening to Mully and Hanley this week. Cubs fans will be calling day and night asking why the White Sox won't trade Sale for Soler and/or Baez. Always entertaining.
  11. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jul 24, 2016 -> 01:26 PM) Lol no it was the part where it says can't have one without the other I know, was my return corny joke.
  12. QUOTE (beautox @ Jul 24, 2016 -> 01:15 PM) they should move everyone sans Abreu (down year unless he picks it up these next 9 days) Slugging has dipped 80 points in each of the last two seasons. One could say the opposite and say get something for the guy while you still can.
  13. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jul 24, 2016 -> 01:08 PM) No. You just don't trade guys to get them. Need an unprecedented haul for Sale. He stays unless you receive it. You don't just decide to move both guys. But the rationale behind moving one should lead you to moving the other. Not saying it gets done by the deadline but both should go if one is moved. If you move Q and wait til the offseason to move Sale, that's fine and dandy but at the end of the day, what the heck's the point of keeping one or the other if we're probably gonna be a dumpster fire for a couple years?
  14. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jul 24, 2016 -> 12:53 PM) Haven't you seen Married with Children? Sorry corny joke just made me think about the theme song. Are you saying Q and Sale go together like a horse and carriage?
  15. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jul 24, 2016 -> 12:37 PM) Do you expect them to retire in 2019 and 2020? They won't be here beyond those years most likely. This. Does anyone honestly think Jerry's gonna give Sale $35 million a year? If he keeps pitching the way he has, he's going to get that easy.
  16. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 24, 2016 -> 12:48 PM) I think we deal Q and not Sale.. I don't get why we would deal one and not the other. Wouldn't moving both make more sense?
  17. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Jul 24, 2016 -> 12:30 PM) Hahn asked to characterize level of trade interest in Chris Sale: "I could but I won’t." https://twitter.com/scottmerkin/status/757264298456514561 Good boy.
  18. QUOTE (hi8is @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 03:56 PM) I believe it. Like I made reference to yesterday - id forfeit my right testicle to have a tap on Hahn's phone. Just not the left one?
  19. Is Sale gonna hang LaRoche jerseys in his locker at Wrigley?
  20. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 29, 2016 -> 03:46 PM) FutureSox.com ‏@FutureSox 31s31 seconds ago "Frazier was probably the number one target going into this offseason." - Hahn Probably eh? Nice boost for Todd
  21. 1. Frazier Screw everyone else. -Hawk Harrelson
