  1. I was also told by a friend of mine (Angels fan) that he was put on waivers so they could make room for.... Josh Paul on their 40-man roster.
  2. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Oct 23, 2005 -> 12:26 PM) Matt Herges later admitted that Pierzynski didn't do anything wrong and apologized to AJ. Herges said it was just Brett Tomko being mad because he got rocked that day and blaming it on Pierzynski. Everett is just a straight-up kook. Everyone knows that Sheffield is a bad seed. He can rake though. Yeah, my comment was a little off, Sheff is a total douche.
  3. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Oct 23, 2005 -> 12:06 PM) No way we give up Rowand in a deal like this. Only was he's gone along with starting pitching is for a guy like Miguel Cabrera and I don't see that happening. Also, I don't see us giving up any of our pitching. Right now, Contreras is a bargain for next year. El Duque will be our long reliever/spot starter. I don't see him being dealt as he's very important for Contreras. I think PK will be resigned unless his pricetag is too high. I'm one of those folks who unfortunately believe that one of two things will happen if PK leaves town: 1. Dye moves over to 1B and Brian Anderson starts in RF. 2. Ross (ugh) Gload After all that's gone down with the pitching this season, no way in hell Kenny deals one of them.
  4. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Oct 23, 2005 -> 12:03 PM) Aside from Marte and Viz, I really can't think of anybody on this team I would be O.K. with losing. The only guy who doesn't seem to be living it up, and actually "buddying up" with the team is Dye, but I think that is just his personality. I, personally, want to see this team together for atleast 1 more year. You wouldn't add Timo to that list of folks you'd be okay with losing?
  5. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Oct 23, 2005 -> 11:27 AM) I wouldn't mind Sheffield's numbers in the 3-hole next year but I can't stand the guy. What a cancer. He got his ticket out of Milwaukee by botching plays. What a worthless human being. I don't really want him, but those comments your just spewed about him being a cancer were said about AJ and Everett.
  6. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Oct 21, 2005 -> 07:06 PM) Dude, that's awesome. I actually drafted him this year in the soxtalk league. An SG from my high school (Gordon Tech) was signed by the Supersonics, but he never actually played in an NBA game. Tommy Kleinschmidt...have you ever heard of him? He graduated from HS when I graduated from 8th grade & he went on to become a star at DePaul. He was playing in the Japanese League last I heard. My brother used to sell him weed when he was at DePaul.
  7. I actually just got an email from The Score and they're promoting it I guess. They also left a promotional code (FOURMOREWINS) to use when ordering and you get a $20 discount.
  8. That was unreal, 2 outs, Houston fans going nuts. Hit to eckstein, walk to edmonds and then, "uh-oh, buh bye!".
  9. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 09:07 AM) Certainly can't tell by this video... http://chicago.comcastsportsnet.com/media/...thomas_16x9.wmv That interview almost brought me to tears, I'm glad he's around to enjoy it. Just wish he was playing.
  10. Key here is to put a consistent winner on the field, something that fans in Chicago haven't seen really.
  11. AL Manager Of The Year: Ozzie Guillen, Chicago White Sox (who else?) AL Rookie Of The Year: Joe Blanton, Oakland Athletics (could win 20 games on a team that can hit) AL Cy Young: Bartolo Colon, Anaheim Angels (great year, kinda disappointed we didn't get the opportunity to beat him up) AL Most Valuable Player: Alex Rodriguez, New York Yankees (his dismal postseason doesn't help warrant a selection for Ortiz, and I'm not against giving the award to a DH, just thought A-Rod had a better year, top 3-4 in every category) AL Exec. Of The Year: Kenny Williams, Chicago White Sox (boo yah) NL Manager Of The Year: Phil Garner, Houston Astros (after a horrible start, they've been one of the hottest teams in baseball and it looks like they're headed towards the series as well, even though that really shouldn't come into play) NL Rookie Of The Year: Ryan Howard, Philadelphia Philles (had a great year, will only get better) NL Cy Young: Dontrelle Willis (it's really a toss-up here, but I think Willis had a better year then Carpenter, but it's a close one) NL Most Valuable Player: Albert Pujols, St. Louis Cardinals (another toss-up, but I thought Pujols had more of a well-rounded season then Andruw) NL Exec. Of The Year: Jim Hendry, Chicago Cubs (boy oh boy, that Burnitz pickup was a stroke of genius) :fthecubs
  12. I went into Target today because apparently they were selling AL Central Champion shirts but all they had left was one hat (which I bought for my mom) and just childrens' size shirts.
  13. Bastard was probably giving John Cusack the reach around in the luxury boxes on Wednesday.
  14. Believe it or not, I didn't even notice Berman's slanting toward the "Red Sawx". I was so into this game that I completely tuned out the announcers.
  15. QUOTE(Swivelhips @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 09:57 PM) Over on the Red Sox boards(SOSH) they were praying for a rain out tomorrow so that Wells wouls be able to pitch game 5 instead of Clement.....hehe. What game 5?
  16. Sure, let's get him, he can do mustache rides on the side for the players' wives.
  17. Fantastic game, fantastic team effort today.
  18. I'm enjoying every minute of it. Usually you hear "The Yankees are trying to get" or "The Red Sox are trying to get", it's interesting to see our team in a position to make the deal that could put us in the big game.
  19. Did anyone actually READ the article or did they just notice the White Sox stuff? The guy is a comedy writer, nothing else. He's not working for ESPN because he's a statistician, he's there for humor. You guys take this stuff too literally.
  20. Two words... Baseball Stars Two more... Tecmo Bowl
  21. I wish I could kick the dog but the wife would have my sack in a vice.
  22. QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 7, 2005 -> 07:39 AM) It's August 20th at Comiskey I'd come that day but I'm getting hitched on August 20th.
  23. Hermanson = quote of the year He just passed Carl Everett's "gays being gay" quote.
