  1. PLEASE NOTE: This instant poll is in no way a scientific measurement. It is provided purely as an interactive feature. A Web-savvy person could easily figure out a way to vote as often as he or she likes and skew the results. Unfortunately, there's no easy way to prevent such disreputable behavior. :lol

  5. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 04:35 PM) No, for tonight. The authorization form is something that season tickets holders get and we get a special hotline to call in for premium seats, its awesome. I would recommend everyone get at least the 27 game plan sometime to really watch the sox. tis the best!! Also if you aren't a season ticket holder you can also go to the box office and say what are your best available seats from turn-ins. Usually get nice seats.

QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 10:39 PM) It looks that way. They are saying he doesn't need any rehab starts. Maybe that could be a good thing for us.

Didn't most of the board think he wasn't ready anyways?
  10. One 'Hawkism' that's actually quite true works here: "You're never as good as you look on a winning streak and you're never as bad as you look on a losing streak." They don't scare me too much.

  12. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Jun 19, 2005 -> 10:34 PM) Sorry for beating the deadhorse but I still have the gut feeling that he is going to be swapped for another starter in july. I can't think of any teams that would want to do this straight up. Something else would have to be involved.
  13. QUOTE(JDsDirtySox @ Jun 19, 2005 -> 10:33 PM) I am really worried about this spot in the rotation. I don't think Mcarthy is A) Ready for the Bigs, and B) As good as people think. I really hope he shows me up, but I don't like the direction this is heading. I agree with you. I'd like to see us add a veteran who can work long innings out of the bullpen and make spot starts if needed.

    It's destiny

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 19, 2005 -> 05:59 PM) I don't know why you'd say that. Contreras has been good this year so far. As long as AJ's catching tonight.
  15. QUOTE(Cubs Suck23 @ Jun 19, 2005 -> 05:46 PM) Looks like we need a SP now I dont think Hernandez will be healthy and would like B Mac to get more time in the minors.. The pitcher I would like to see the Sox to get and their has been some rumors about this player being traded because he is arbitration eligible next season.. Is Brandon Webb Do you have any article about this? I find it kind of hard to believe.
  16. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jun 19, 2005 -> 04:35 PM) KC is 24th in home runs hit. Facing KC is more of a confidence boost than pitching in the Cell is a downer. Does that make sense? Think that ranking may have anything to do with Kauffman stadium having the third lowest park factor when it comes to home runs? You obviously go to a lot of games, you should know by now it doesn't really matter who we're playing. The ball is going to fly.
  17. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jun 19, 2005 -> 03:56 PM) WH and I were talking about this the other day. Crede = Konerko However, Konerko definitely gets a huge pass on this board. They couldn't be much different if you ask me.
  18. QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Jun 19, 2005 -> 04:01 PM) plus having bmac pitch against the royals should help his confidence. he's used to pitching against minor leaguers Nothing could boost a young pitchers confidence more than starting in U.S. Cellular field. O/U on how many home runs he allows?

QUOTE(BobDylan @ Jun 18, 2005 -> 03:52 PM) I love the new White Stripes album. He throws in a sweet banjo into some of his songs. My Doorbell rocks, Little Ghost is about as good as it gets, Denial Twist is good, Instinct Blues is a pretty good rock blues song, Passive Manipulation has a great sound (though it's only 30 seconds), Take, Take, Take might be the best song on the album, As Ugly as I seem is awesome, and then the single Blue Orchid is good. You want to talk about pretty bad? Check out the new Coldplay album. What a disappointment. When did Jack White trade in his guitar for a piano? That's the major complaint I had with the record. With the exception of My Doorbell (Jackson 5?), I basically skip over any song that doesn't have the garage-rock feel to it. How could you forget about Red Rain? That track is pretty sweet.
  21. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 18, 2005 -> 02:12 PM) You're completely correct about Maddux's career trumping Buehrle's, however Buehrle has been better for quite some time now and Buehrle right now has more wins then Greg did at this time of his career. I'm not trying to say Mark is going to become Maddux, just saying that Mark has reallly been as good as you can be this early in a career. First, are you sure Buehrle had more wins than Maddux did at this time of his career? Through age 25 I counted Maddux had more. And has Buehrle really been better for quite some time? I don't think so. Last year they had equal wins, while Maddux had a lower WHIP, higher K/9, lower BB/9, and lower H/9 with an ERA less than 10% higher than Mark's. Closer to 5% actually. I know comparing the NL and AL pitching-wise isn't fair, but with Maddux WAY past his prime and Buehrle almost entering or already in his, they weren't so far apart performance-wise last year as everyone is making it seem.
