  1. Vizcaino should be a damn good major league reliever. -Mid nineties fastball -Avg to plus slider -Sinker with rightward movement When you can move the ball both directions on a hitter you can be nasty. Would be nice if he had some control I guess.
  2. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 10:59 PM) Do you know what that is? The main character in that one Sega game?
  3. The top left character in your sig looks like Placido Polanco.
  4. Coincidentally it was the first game he could throw all three pitches for strikes.
  5. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 10:19 PM) Umm Umm Umm.... Dunn on the block. Josh Fields + Brandon McCarthy. There's a start. Take Sean Tracey too. :drool :drool :drool at Adam Dunn. Any chance he could be converted into a 1B?
  6. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 04:46 PM) Uribe has almost two more Win Shares than Vizquel has defensively. He had to increase that gap even further tonight.
  7. Can someone pull up Schmidt's career splits vs. AL.
  8. QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 03:40 PM) Young isn't even close. The guys hitting .254 and striking out a ton. Sweeney isn't even that close yet. He's hitting .273 at AA, but he has NO HOMERS! That tells me he still has to develop some power before we even consider it. Gio has made one start at AA, Tracey is only doing okay, and Liotta is still in low A. All of those guys other than Anderson and McCarthy are at least two years away. Gio is in Birmingham?
  9. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 01:00 PM) You're right, I believe I was reading the numbers wrong. I'm still not too thrilled with the # of errors Uribe has made. Maybe the groin and back injuries played some part in the poor defense? Hard to say.
  10. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 12:34 PM) Uribe's number was better in 2003, and they were basically the same at SS last year. Not quite. Uribe '02 RF at SS = 5.24 Vizquel '02 RF at SS = 4.67 Uribe '03 RF at SS = 5.79 Vizquel '03 RF at SS = 5.19 Uribe '04 RF at SS = 5.29 Vizquel '04 RF at SS = 4.31 I think a young Uribe is a better defensive player than an old Vizquel.
  11. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 11:43 AM) Sadly, I can't tell if he was being sarcastic or not... :headshake Here are some of his other posts to help you decide. -Regarding who BMac could be traded for. -Wrong no matter what the context was. -Yikes.
  12. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 10:47 AM) It's time to bring out the Jenks sig. Now it's a three-way battle between me, you, and Kalapse for the greatest tongue-in-cheek Soxtalk sig.
  13. QUOTE(JimH @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 11:09 AM) By the way for all you western suburbanites looking for a nice very cool and comfortable air conditioned bar to watch the game tonite ... the Naperville Chapter of SoxTalk will be meeting at The Red Door in downtown Naperville at 6 pm. Say hello to the two guys arguing at the bar. Ahh if I didn't have softball I'd join you guys.

    Cubs Jokes

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 10:00 AM) How many queers does it take to flip over a car? I dunno, but maybe we'll find out if the Cubs win the World Series. I think a better punchline is, "We'll never know. The Cubs would have to win the World Series first."
  15. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 09:30 AM) Okay. Crede's OPS (.706) sucks as well. Yeah I know. But he's not going to hit for average so let's hope he can get the OPS climbing.
  16. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 08:01 AM) .250 would be good, .260 would be great. But he is hitting .235 and he is on his way down. If his current crap streak keeps up he will be below .230 in a week or so. Do you really think that if Joe is sub .230 in Valentin territory that KW is going to watch this guy pull the human fan routine waving at everything popping crap up is going to sit well. I don't like Crede that much either, but do you know what the difference between .250 and .220 is in a full season? About 2 more hits per month. Let's concentrate on his OPS before his AVG. It's more beneficial to the team.
  17. Wow you're much younger than I thought. Have a good one.
  18. Where's the Crede one you were gonna do?

    War of the Worlds..

She looks like she chews on rocks.
  20. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 28, 2005 -> 01:21 PM) Don't rain on our parade! My giddiness level is soaring. These rumors about Schmidt are driven into my head so deep, I can hardly think of anything else. And maybe KW is involved and keeping quiet, but SF is the one opening their big yaps to get more interest in Schmidt. I don't know how they work. Are they like KW and keep things quiet, or are they very public? Depends. If multiple teams are interested in the same player, that GM could go about it different ways. Say one contender makes a weak offer, the GM probably doesn't want other contenders knowing how weak it was. Then they know to give up just a little more to be in a better position. But if one contender makes an outrageuous offer, the GM probably wants every other contender to know this in hopes that someone else will wow them even further.
