    28-12

If I'm not mistaken, 28-12 is the best 40-game start for a White Sox team. Ever.
  4. When Pods said his average was down in 2004 because he was trying to hit for power, I thought he was just trying to cover up for being bad. Now I kind of believe him, cause when I watch him at-bat I think, how the hell did you hit 12 home runs last year? He may have accidentaly ran into a couple, but in at least 100 AB's he was probably purposely trying to hit for power.
  5. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ May 15, 2005 -> 06:22 PM) Still. He brings up a good point. I hate Mariotti as much as the next guy, but in this article he praises the White Sox and basically says, we're the best team to watch in all of baseball, but yet we are at the bottom of attendance. There's a difference between simply bashing and making sense. In this article he's making perfect sense. This series should've been a sellout. Two best teams in baseball(us being the best team) off to a record start and even the mayor shows up(today at least) on a weekend and we still can't sell out any of the games. That's extremely dissapointing. Extremely dissapointing? Did you know that 128,560 paid for that four-game series, without either half-price day involved? That's anything but a dissapointing sales number for a series at US Cellular if you know the slightest bit about the attendance patterns we've had the past few seasons. The average attendance for each game was 32,140. If the Sox drew that well at every home game in a season, they'd total over 2.6 million tickets at the end of the year. That number would blow any recent yearly sales number out of the water.
  6. QUOTE(Whitesoxfan56 @ May 15, 2005 -> 01:48 PM) I luuuuuv aaron in the number 3 spot But especially against lefties.
  7. QUOTE(Brian @ May 15, 2005 -> 01:26 PM) I'm looking forward to the Chicago Tribune's "Frank Watch" during his assignment. Not sure if this should be in green or not. I actually think we should pin a "Frank Watch" thread in the Pale Hose Talk.
  8. And that would be considered a major success, almost half a million more seats sold. A very noticable increase in revenue.
  9. f***ing idiot. You don't go from twenty-something in attendance to selling out every home game, hot start or not. I will be quite pleased with a healthy, but reasonable increase in ticket sales.
  10. Maybe he could replace Shingo in the pen.
  11. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ May 15, 2005 -> 10:06 AM) You wouldn't have been saying that about Freddy before his previous 2 outings. I don't think it should be said ever.
  12. Count will be working w/ Widger I imagine. Let's see if his style changes again because he's not throwing to AJ.
  13. Shimizu currently has 2.72 ERA and is 4-2 in 7 games. Matsuzaka with 1.77 ERA and 3-4.
  14. Well after watching Pods to start this season, it's very evident to me that he takes pitches better than anyone else on this team. He's maintained his AB/K ratio of about 10 the entire way. That's just what we want from our leadoff guy. I wish he could swing the bat a little better.
  15. Vizcaino's troubles stem from Ozzie not knowing what 'splits' are. But I agree, he's got to pitch better, in whichever situation the manager puts him in.
  16. Maybe Baltimore is right about our mound.
  17. Oh and to answer everyone's question, Garcia's fastball dipped below 90 regularly when it became his second or third pitch. This was when he put on the Sox uni.
  18. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ May 14, 2005 -> 09:28 PM) While this game was hard to watch.... We have to remember we are still 27-10 and in position to take 3 out of 4 from one of the hottest teams in baseball besides us. And to add in all the hate, I think the biggest mistake of the game was when Cora sent Konerko home... that was just dumb, i understand Cora is aggressive but that was more dumb than aggressive. I felt so embarassed for PK when he made a weak attempt to bowl over Javy and then got his ass forced into the dirt full extension.
  19. What pissed me off most about Garcia is that after he's blown a 3-run lead and things look like they aren't going to get any better for him, Ozzie has a little chat with him and suddenly he's lights out, just like that. I mean, what the f*** man. Keep up your intensity and focus the entire game. You only do this every five days. Ozzie shouldn't have to come out for you to get your ass back in gear. As for him starting the 7th, utter stupidity. Let's allow their best hitters to get a FOURTH look at him when he's over 100 pitches and we have plenty of fresh arms in the pen. f***ing irritates me that we have a game like this with the chance to go 7 up on the Twins.
  20. Nothing that hasn't been publically addressed here several times already.
  21. I talked with Mike Hampton at a mall in Milwaukee. This was when he was when he was on the Rockies, and bad.
  22. Having 5 more wins than any other team in baseball at this point is redonkulous.
