  1. And they dump his large salary? Nice move by Cubs imo. EDIT: Didn't see 'cash considerations'. I wonder how much salary they had to eat.
  2. This is the first time all season I've been scared. It feels like last year.

    Aubrey Huff

I'd listen if his contract didn't end after '06.
  4. That means happy bday Jeff Bagwell too. Two HOF'ers born on the same day of the same year?
  5. QUOTE(DukeNukeEm @ May 27, 2005 -> 12:28 PM) Before you know it Dusty's gonna have them wearing aluminum foil hats to protect them from the evil alien rays. LOL

    Peavy

I love watching him pitch more than anybody. He is an epitome of the young stud I've waited for the Sox to develop for years. And no, McCarthy is not even close.
  7. QUOTE(nvxplorer @ May 27, 2005 -> 12:17 AM) If that wild pitch didn't bounce right back to Molina, we may not be discussing this either. Yeah but we got it back when Cabrera's ball hit the top of the fence and decided to come back in.
  8. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ May 26, 2005 -> 03:49 PM) It's a 7 pm start in California. Nothing strange about that. On getaway day, games are usually in the afternoon to allow for travel times.
  9. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ May 26, 2005 -> 01:02 AM) Lackey has long been a White Sox killer. Are we thinking of the same guy? I think he has a career ERA against us over 6.
  10. But the last time we faced a left-handed starter was 8 games ago.
  11. QUOTE(Capn12 @ May 25, 2005 -> 08:04 PM) Pods is a .333 hitter in 39 ABs against LHers, only .257 against Righties. I expect Pods to be in the lineup tonight. Uribe, on the other hand.... like .350 against lefties and .160 against righties.
  12. I wouldn't sit Uribe. Facing a lefty is probably just what he needs to break out.
  13. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ May 25, 2005 -> 12:54 AM) You should of heard me in the stadium. I was going nuts on the one with Paulie. I was just hoping and hoping and when he made the catch me and this Sox fan sitting behind me were screaming at the top of our lungs, LOL. So you root for the Sox over the Angels when they play head to head. Very good.
  14. QUOTE(TLAK @ May 24, 2005 -> 06:51 PM) I hate these 9 oclock starts, great for the west coasters but hard on geezers in Chicago. And those of us who work.
  15. For some reason, Chavez hits worse at US Cellular than any other park.
  16. I never thought we'd make it out of this month with a .700 WP. It's not an easy stretch of games. Next month will be better.
  17. Well that post just put this topic to rest.
  18. QUOTE(CubKilla @ May 23, 2005 -> 11:30 PM) 13+ ERA going into tonights game. "Best" team in baseball should be able to do something offensively other than Iguchi and Konerko Wow. 4 inning sample size.
  19. QUOTE(fathom @ May 23, 2005 -> 10:10 PM) I hate Timo, but at least he swung at the first pitch fastball that Santana was throwing all night. He distracted Santana too. Crede whiffed on a hanging slider right there.
  20. QUOTE(sircaffey @ May 23, 2005 -> 09:57 PM) Get Carl out of there...Jesus...He's hitting .189 left handed. God we need Frank... That ball was scalded.
  21. Why's everyone pissed at Timo when he threw a strike to Crede for what should've been the third out of the inning?
  22. QUOTE(ottawa_sox @ May 23, 2005 -> 08:46 PM) Bob (Nailbitter) Wickman finished it off. He has 4 saves against the Twins this year. I think I'm in love.
  23. I told you guys the Tribe's pen would be better than ours.
  24. QUOTE(ottawa_sox @ May 23, 2005 -> 08:31 PM) Maybe this will cheer you up a little - 2-1 Cleveland in the bottom of the 8th. I bet they score 2.
