  1. QUOTE(BearSox @ Aug 27, 2006 -> 11:08 AM) Another thing, I think Gload deserves to play at least half the time. But with Thome and Konerko, that won't happen. BUT, he should be platooning in LF with Gload. Yes, I know they are both lefties, but Gload can hit, plain and simple. He has baseball's best pitcher's number. And Mack should get some more time in LF, and less in CF. Since June 8: Podsednik: .262/.307/.348 K's in 20.5% of his AB's Gload: .391/.432/.536 K's in 5.8% of his AB's

QUOTE(Goldmember @ Aug 27, 2006 -> 11:09 AM) Approximately 75% of human poop is made of water. On unfortunate days for me, it seems more like 100%.
  3. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Aug 27, 2006 -> 12:32 AM) Brian Anderson got 448 ABs in Charlotte last season. He hit .295 with 24 doubles, 3 triples and 16 HRs. He had a K/BB ratio of 115/44. Ryan Sweeney has 437 ABs in Charlotte this season. He hitting .295 with 24 doubles, 3 triples and 13 HRs. He has a K/BB ratio of 73/35. You forgot the most important information. Brian Anderson was 23 years old in Charlotte last season. Ryan Sweeney is 21 years old in Charlotte this season.
  4. QUOTE(Brian @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 11:10 PM) Singleton said Gload was playing up on that Punto liner, defending a bunt. With 2 outs? I understand it is a possibility, but it would be hard to lay down a soft bunt off Thornton. Chalk this up to Oz as well. A player doesn't make the call to do this on his own with two outs, especially a bench player.
  5. QUOTE(Brian @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 11:03 PM) Was Gload playing up on that Punto liner with 2 outs? I thought that is what Farmer said. Yes, protecting against bunt I guess.
  6. He gave a little glance into the Twins dugout
  7. Why is he even playing that far up the middle.
  8. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 08:56 PM) So, Torii Hunter has hit 4 homers against the Sox in the last 5 games? Yeah and 5 total homers against the Sox so like 25% of his home runs are against us. Why we never make him move his feet is beyond me.
  9. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 08:32 PM) I wonder if Haeger could hold it together a little better in the big leagues in September? No don't let him ruin whatever trade value he may hold.
  10. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 08:15 PM) He got an RBI, so by my count, having Mack in there has only caused a -2 run differential. Well if we assume Anderson hits a grand slam, which I think we can, then Mack has us at -6.
  11. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 08:10 PM) Now watch the difference in Uribe.... He was ready to swing as always, but you have to make sure it is a strike!
  12. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 08:08 PM) First time Gload will face Santana, this should be interesting..... Great approach already. Santana has thrown a first pitch strike to every single batter and Gload goes up hacking immediately.
  13. I wish Contreras would use that drop-down angle very sporadically only to give hitters a different look throughout the game. With the drop-down the ball is bound to live only in the same plane as the bat swing. When he is over the top the ball exists in a plane perpendicular to the bat, and that's a good thing.
  14. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 07:50 PM) I'm sure glad we have Mackowiak out there. Hey Jose...stop hanging every freaking offspeed pitch you throw. Your slider stinks....where's the f***ing forkball? No righthanded batter will see one because he has gone to a 100% drop-down delivery to righties.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 04:44 PM) Damn I didn't realize it was that much of a difference. Does anyone have any idea why this is the case. This is from a concerned lefty It's definitely not a fact.
  17. QUOTE(AWhiteSoxinNJ @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 12:24 PM) Take the low tonight for you gamblers. My site has the O/U at 7, and all games started by Santana against the Sox have had at least 7 runs scored in them. Now, in the last 23 games started by Johan Santana, the Twins are 20-3 (.870). I'd parlay a Twins victory with the over, unless you're getting 8.5 or 9 runs.

  19. QUOTE(danman31 @ Aug 24, 2006 -> 07:00 PM) Ok, I'm a Broadway fan but one start at AAA means very little. It's nice start, but success at AAA was expected eventually. No kidding. Richmond is 30 games under .500 and has a team OPS of .660.
