"Sox and the City"
QUOTE(LVSoxFan @ Jul 5, 2006 -> 02:22 PM) Anyone claiming he's a bandwagon jumper or "recent" fan is absurd. He's always written about the Sox--I know, since I've read him since day one. For you kids, he's the guy who replaced Royko at the Sun-Times when Royko jumped to the Trib. As for why he was writing about them more in 2005 than before... um, maybe because there's something to write about? What was he gonna write about in 2004? Our awesome second-place finish in the Central? After collapsing throughout the final months? How about how we at least collapsed in August in 2003? See what I mean? I've read the excerpts and they've been pretty funny, pretty good. And he is dead-on to point out what we already know: that Harry and his 7th inning sing along... originated here with the Sox. I'll buy it for sure. I don't give a toss one way or the other what he is, but if writing about a team only or mostly when it's doing well doesn't make you a fair weather, bandwagon jumper, what does?

"Sox and the City"
QUOTE(GoSox05 @ Jul 5, 2006 -> 10:27 AM) Im not denying he's a sox fan. Its just seems that towards the end of last year he all the sudden was like the Sox greatest fan. That and he has s*** movie reviews. Exactly and yep.

Uribe
Sometimes the worst thing that can happen to a hitter like Uribe is for him to get red hot. I'm gonna wait it out, but I bet I know where he's headed. Prove me wrong Juanito.

"Sox and the City"
QUOTE(GoSox05 @ Jul 5, 2006 -> 09:33 AM) i hate Roeper. He seems like such a trendy Sox fan. Hard to tell. I know that he's been a fan for a long time, but I'd never really heard him mention the Sox before 05.

Sox at Taste of Chicago
Man, I really want to go, but I work tomorrow. I'd have to get there at like 8:00 am and stand in line for 4 hours. Would someone hold down a spot in line for me? I'll give you a few food and beer tickets to the taste. PM me if you're interested.

I like this Bedard kid. Wasn't he the deal breaker in the Prior for Tejada/Bedard trade? I don't blame Balt. for not parting with him.

Orioles at White Sox 7/03/06
QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jul 3, 2006 -> 08:11 PM) They aren't going to win a WS giving up 10 runs a game. You missed the sarcasm. The point is this rotation, minus vaz, already won the WS, so I get the feeling they realize they are not pitching well and probably have a good idea how to fix it. Call me crazy.

Orioles at White Sox 7/03/06
Good thing you guys are here to give these bums some advice. They might f*** around and win the WS...if they'd only listen to solid advice like: "get your head otta your ass."

QUOTE(SoxFanInDallas @ Jul 3, 2006 -> 01:42 PM) Hopefully he is having a nice relaxing time like Bruce Willis and Ving Rhames did in Pulp Fiction down in the basement of the Pawn Shop! LMAO What now? Well let me tell you what now. I'm gonna call a couple pipe-hittin' n*ggers, who'll go to work on homes here with a pair of pliers and a blow torch.

Orioles at White Sox 7/03/06
QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jul 3, 2006 -> 02:04 PM) I bet he's already dripping with sweat. That's actually a good thing. Sometimes it takes him too long to get loose and you look up and he's given up 4 bombs in 2 innings.

Getting To The Game
Is there an Ashland exit off the 290? I think it's Racine. Anyway, go south on Ashland to Harrison, go east to Halsted, then take Halsted south to 35th.

Catch-All Anything Thread
QUOTE(Soxy @ Jul 3, 2006 -> 01:39 PM) I took my puppy to the vet last week. She's 12 weeks and 30 pounds. The vet said she'll probably get upwards of 80. Yikes. Yep yep, time to put her down.

So where's Jay been?
QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jul 3, 2006 -> 12:35 PM) Vacation should be in quotes. I dont think there's any way he'd be allowed to take time off during a period that includes the NBA Draft, World Cup and crosstown series. Call me a conspiracy theorist but I think there's something more going on than him being on vacation. He's still recovering from his Pride Day "festivities".

Beatles Cirque show gets early raves
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jul 3, 2006 -> 11:03 AM) I gotta say dispite my hatred of all of thing Cirque, I am intreagued with this. It might never leave Vegas as the theather they are preforming in was specially designed just for this show. I didn't know that detail. You're probably right.
